Jesus... I can't restore backups of my apps. It either FC or doesn't do anything.
I tried rebooting, going back to stock... I don't know what to do anymore.
This is driving me nuts.
I feel like a noob. I didn't turn on USB Debugging. OMG I feel so noobish.
What really sucks about the free version of Titanium is how long it would actually take to restore my 125 files. You have to manually reinstall each one! I did not know this until it was too late. It also seems to be acting slooooow with the new update. I went with My Backup puerto instead

Hi, I would like to know if nandroid works for x10 mini, I looked at the tutorials, and it sounds different from the X10.
I there another full backup solution alternative to nandroid?
The one that came with the phone only backs up numbers.
thanks!
I have never tried nandroid but i know that titanium works on Mini

How do u back up on titanium? I can back up each app one by one, but that takes forever. is there a batch back up? Im using the free one btw.
can titanium restore my phone after a hardrest?
thanks
You can do a batch backup with Titanium. Options>Batch>Backup All user+system apps, then click 'Run'
I did this just last night and it worked perfectly. I haven't tried out the restore feature though.
When i go to batch, I see a list of things, and when i press back up app. nothing happens. it brings me back to the app list.

A common problem.... Either kill the app and rerun, or more likely uninstall and reinstall. I wish the developer would sort out this issue. Mine doesn't last a week before I have to reinstall it.....
I uninstalled titan backup and reinstalled it.
now when i try to restore apps it don't work? WTF
this thing sucks, I want a refund.
Does anyone know of a better app?
Hey guys! I am planning to install the CM7 ROM on my Droid X2. I want to back up my Applications and the application data and any other stuff so that I can restore those apps on CM7. But I heard some people are having trouble using Titanium Backup on CM7.
Are others having this issue too? And if this is indeed a big problem, what other application can I use to back up my apps and app data and restore them on CM7?
Thanks for you help in advance.
I recommend none

Then how do you backup and restore app data?
In the BSR recovery, you can do a Nandroid backup. Then, when you are ready to install those apps, you can get a couple of different apps to read from the nandroid backup:
Titanium Backup - But, if you have this, then just use it to backup your apps and data. But, it can restore nandroided programs and settings.
Yaffs Explorer - You can go into the nandroid backup and retrieve programs, settings and files from this and it's free.
I myself use Titanium Backup Pro to backup my programs and settings via the normal backup operations. But, I have used it to restore applications from a nandroid backup when I forgot to backup my settings via Titanium Backup before flashing. That's why I ALWAYS nandroid backup before I flash or SBF.
Titanium Backup, been using it for some time, never had an issue with it.

+1 to this...as long as you do NOT restore system data (ringtones, bluetooth pairings, remembered wifi networks, etc...) . User applications and application data has never caused me a problem going between ROMs.
Nandroid from recovery is the best and most accurate, in my opinion its way better than titanium because it actually makes a complete image of your current system and its free, never had any problems with it and it has saved me so many times...

Agreed for recovering from a mistake or installing something that didn't work. The OP was looking to be able to move to a different ROM without having to reinstall every app by hand. Nandroid won't help with that...

But, you can use various apps, like Titanium Backup and others, to reinstall the apps from a nandroid backup. Titanium Backup is really good.

I use Titanium Backup and have never had a problem with restoring my apps and app data on CM7 or MIUI. I think the people who have problems with it are using it to backup and restore their system data, which is not good when changing a ROM since the system data can be a little different from ROM to ROM. Use it for apps and app data only.
I agree with all that say Titanium Backup. I did have a problem with it freezing when it was in between reinstalling an app and switching to another when I ran the batch. However, this might have been me being impatient and trying to enjoy CM7 too soon. lol. Also you can restore from the nandroid backup with the paid version of Titanium Backup.
Rom toolbox automatically backs up apks for root users, no data though.
Titanium backup might be ur best bet
MIUI X2
I have had the freezing problem also but it has only done it with cm7. Reboot usually fixed it. With cm7 i find myself rebooting allot anyway for little glitches. Kinda like windows really just doesn't seem to want to run continuous for long periods of time.

With CM7, there are many small issues and annoyances for me.
I am going back to stock and maybe over to Eclipse.
Titanium: Frequent crashes, need data wipe to get it going for couple of my apps, (I NEVER restore system stuffs, just my apps).
Games: Some of them have random pauses, some of them have random crashes, 1 game won't work (Siegecraft) etc.
Apps: Sygic Navigation app does not work, Navigon works though, Gallery app re-starts all the time.
Phone calls: I am suspecting some calls are NOT coming through for me, my wife tells me that she has to call me 2-5 times to get through sometimes. I see some missed calls and get notifications, but I could SWEAR that the phone never rang.
Yes, this was my daily driver for couple of weeks, but I would not recommend it.
These issues (other than the phone calls) are minor and annoyance only, but when added all up, It doesn't contribute to good overall experience.
Once it gets few iterations of bug fixes, I will probably get back to it.

I use TiBu to backup my apps and data. However, don't use TiBu to restore system apps or data. That just causes problems. I create a "restore" group and put most of my apps in there and restore both the app and data. I also create a group for "apps only" and this just restores the app and not the data. Apps like Groupon I have had to go back and wiped their data to get them to work. If you don't have a bunch of apps (unlike me with 307 apps) I would recommend going through each app on it's own.
Ciao!
My Backup Pro has been very good to me. You can make data and app backsups that can me stored online aswell as on your phone's SD card.
Its also dummy-proof; you'll figure it out in ~15 minutes.

Guys I have made an old fashio nandroid with all my updated apps and stuff. Now When I go to titanium backup and then press menu button and etract from nandroid it asks me which nandroid when i choose I then have the option to select which apps , when I have selected and click restore it just stays on 0% and doesnt do anything, By the way the nandroid is a ICS custom rom and I am now On a stock rooted JB rom. But that shouldnt matter right only the apps should I tried more then one app its always same thing nothing gets done. How can I restore my apps without having to load the whole nandroid then copying the titanium folder and then AGAIN flashing the JB and pasting the folder then restore the usual backup way. Any other way to do it from my nandroid ?
I've had problems in the past restoring from normal titanium backups. It's usually caused by a certain app that stops it.
Not sure if your problem is the same but try selecting just 1 random app and restore.

Are you talking about Extracting from Nandroid? Its an option in titanium pro.
It allows you to restore apps straight out of a nandroid backup. But when I do it nothing happens just sits on 0% for ever. Makes me angry!!
Maybe try AppExtractor from the play store. Worth a go.

If you are restoring alot of apps I have seen it do this. It will just stay at 0% if you just leave it eventually it does finish you might not think it will finish and it appears stuck but it will finish

I've run into pretty much the same thing. HOWEVER I am trying to restore apps that I had on my GS II Skyrocket to my new GS III. App extractor wouldn't find the nandroid backup, and wouldnt let me point it to it.
Using TiBu Pro, I cna get in, find the apps, I've tried both Batch and single, it shows complete, BUT the app never shows up. I know it's got to be an operator error.
Operator is standing by.

I know this thread is pretty old and hopefully you've found a solution, but I've been researching high and low for a similar thing - to extract data out of a nandroid backup, and finally found the solution.
In my case, the app would NOT show in the nandroid backup extraction list in TiBu PRO, even if it was there. So, I installed the latest version of the app on the market, restored data ONLY, and it worked like a charm.
Let us know if it works for you! This is on the Verizon I535 however..not sure if that will matter. Don't see why it would.
but where it is saving the apps I am restoring from TWRP backups?

Not operator error so far as I can tell. I am having the same difficulties. I find that when I use my super root level file browser and go ahead and make a data folder for the app then TiBu Pro will be able to restore the app and its data, but otherwise no go. I think that TiBu Pro - for some reason - doesn't have permission to create folders. So without the folder, no installation can happen.
Does anyone know how to set it so that it can? That would make my life much easier.
I got a replacement phone for my note and i am trying to swapping units but I am not getting the results I wanted. Right now none of the phones are rooted. I have use app backup and restore, app monster backup and restore pro trial and my backup pro trial. The first 2 do a successful backup and i can restore but my backup pro will not let me restore to another phone in the trial mode...
Anyway, those that restore install the apps but the phones does not Look the same. Icons are not like I had them setup before, all paper walls are not the same, etc...
Am i expecting too much from these app? Is there an app that will effectively clone the phone much like a restore in a computer does? Do I have to be rooted for this to happen and can I unroot the old phone to send it back to at&t and they won't be able to tell?
Thanks!
Ps- I also attempted Kies but the restore fails every time. If I do a restore of settings only it restore that but still all icons are not the same etc...
Unless you are using a launcher that has the option to restore its own settings i think you are out of luck.

So If I install a launcher will it replicate what I have now in the old phone (meaning I wont have to set up the icons on the new launcher on the old phone) I can then back that up and have the setting moved?
How about a nandroid backup? it sounds to me than that is the closest thing to a clone but I have to be rooted to use that. Can I root the old phone then unroot it?
That might work. Seems like just as much energy though

I know it's a game, but I spent a lot of time on it.
I've been making backups of my Minecraft progress for quite some time now, confident that I was saving it.
Now that I need to restore my progress, I restore the Titanium Backup, and everything seems just fine, but when I start Minecraft, absolute nothing has been restored! Blank!
This happened to me before, and I thought I had done a bad backup or something, but now it's happening again.
Any help? :/

assuming you're rooted, what su app do you use?

if you hit verify in the backup options, what does it return?
