Bluetooth - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Every Android build claims in the OP that bluetooth works, but I have not found a build yet that has working bluetooth in call audio. I hear media audio just fine.
I have tried many workarounds, kernels, wm builds, radios, and Android builds. From reading through many threads it seems this is a recurring issue. I have however seen a few people who claim that they do have bluetooth working properly.
In my signature you can see what I have running on my phone. As for bluetooth I am using a Plantronics Voyager 855 and have also tried a Motorola H500.
Sorry for starting a new thread about this, but search is currently not working in XDA.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Are we missing a driver or something?
If you do have bt working for in call audio can you please provide your wm/radio/android/kernel combination?
Thanks

Media audio - routing to bt headset

Hello all,
I have been using android on my hd2 for some time. There is 1 thing that I am unable to do which is frustrating.
Under winmo, I could listen to audio books via the Bluetooth headset, is this not possible on android?
Any help gratefully received.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
It is quite difficult to do it in Android at the moment. There are a few builds where this is possible, like forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740963 (shubcraft) and forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=736545. However, these builds are not 'perfect' IMHO.
There are builds where you can listen to audio via bluetooth but if you get a call, it may reboot, like forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769026.
There is no build I have found yet, that has Hotmail ActiveSync support, complete Bluetooth audio (to sync with Ford a2dp), no SOD and good battery life!
I can listen thru my Sony Ericsson HBH-DS headset just fine on following builds and phone calls also :
HyperDroid
Bangster's
mdeejay
...rest I do not run regularly but I suspect will work fine
Is the media-routing Problem similar to my Problem ?
I dont know if this issue is known, so i post it here in hope, that it will be fixed =)
I have in all Android apps wich had something to do with the sound-input/output problems. I had no sound there.
I tested FritzApp! ( a App wich allows you to use your Androidphone as an normal DECT/IP Phone with the Fritzbox!)
Either my communicationpartner hears my voice nor I hear him. Dialing works perfectly just the sound doesnt
And with MicDroid ( Something like LaDiDa for Iphone). ( Records just "Rauschen")
Can you confirm this kind of issue or am I the only Person, plz post your problems.
Or is this problem known ?
kind regards
malla

I would say that it is similar because even my BT system (on some builds) recognizes the phone, connects, plays music, dials calls, but there is no audio (in/out) once the call is connected. This is confusing because there is no issue in connecting as an audio device, the problem is in the phone device.

Bluetooth unreliable: cm-7.1.0-RC1.7-Thunderbolt Updated 8/31

Since I cannot post to the CM7 developer forum where I feel this question likely belongs...I am posting here.
I updated to cm-7.1.0-RC1.7-Thunderbolt and have been having trouble with Bluetooth (BT) audio when making calls. The situation is interesting and only happens when there is a change in power source for the device outside of a call. For example, the following will fail to send audio to BT:
Unplugged, battery as source.
BT connect.
Place call
No BT audio.
Disable BT, audio on phone or speaker.
Enable BT again, usually returns to BT. Cool, everything works.
But, now I disconnect from that call and...
Switch to USB power.
Place call (BT still connected).
No BT audio.
...rest of above...
Now, if I don't change power source, that is, I successfully use the enable/disable BT audio to get the first call working, all subsequent calls without power source change work just fine -- everytime.
But, if I change power source, no BT audio without disable/enable. If I switch during a call, there is no issue, BT audio works.
I've also had a few issues with calls not being placed and having to redial a number of times, but that could just be VZW.
I did not have any issues with RC1.6 and will probably flash back. Otherwise, I LOVE CM7 -- best thing ever.
Anyone else have these issues or care to post to the Development forum for me?
If you're going to ask someone, you should ask slayher (and get a logcat of the issue happening or he can't help you much). The reason you can't ask where you "think" it should be is because development for the Thunderbolt is still unofficial and not supported directly by the Cyanogen team.
If you send slayher a PM (probably better to at rootzwiki than here since he doesn't seem to follow the thread here anymore) with a logcat dump of when the issue happens, he can help you or find him on IRC in the freenode network at #slayher (the channel).

ICS bluetooth A2DP issues CM/Ressurection/?

Hello all,
I know there have been many threads regarding the bluetooth connectivity. However I will make my problem a very specific one.
The problem I have is with ICS being that it doesn't distribute audio properly for players other than - com.android.music-1_4.0.4-eng.jenkins.20120523.231950.apk. This audio player that came out with CM7 and apart from that player no other players output can be heard on my car stereo. That being "Rockford Fosgate 10.1" that comes standard with the suzuki kizashi.
I have reported this problem to the owners of the custom roms but without success. The last successful audio playback was on Criskelo V.38 via PowerAMP and ever since the transition to ICS it simply doesn't work.
Now I have bought PowerAMP and max @ poweramp has been very helpful with answering my questions and what he has to say is that it is the rom/kernel that distributes the sound via the bluetooth channels and not the player itself, which sounds reasonable.
However, The only thing that is stuck in my head is how come one player works fine whilst none of the others work? if the admins permiss and if someone would like to try it I can upload the apk stated above as it is the only way I can get the output to work.
I tried using the apk with Jellybean update but i think its non compliant, so my hopes are diminishing with the advancement of platforms.
Since it is an issue that I cannot resolve except the patchwork I have done by using the same apk for all roms, I would like some help from the champions out there who can resolve the issue. I can upload logs/whatever info you like.
Thanks in advance and please feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
P.S: Great work to all the people involved in releasing custom roms and XDA

Sorry, can't help. I just found I have the same problem. What is com.android.music-1_4.0.4-eng.jenkins.20120523.231950.apk?

Buetooth issues

I've been having problems with my car's parrot (mki9100) bluetooth. My Redmi Note 2 seems to pair fine with it, but then it just keeps connecting and disconnecting every few seconds. It doesn't share contacts, it doesn't work for calls and it doesn't work for a2dp. I've disabled permission management but the issue persists. I don't seem to be an isolated case as there are people complaining about this on MIUI's forums. I'm running 6.7.5 from en.miui.com.
I've tried the usual stuff, clearing cache/dalvik, even reinstalling the rom; nothing helped.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

I was just about to start a thread myself then I saw your post.
Sadly I'm having trouble too. In my case stereo Bluetooth A2DP is awful. I'm constantly having skips and stutters on both devices I have tested so far (a Samsung HS3000 and a Logitech Boombox). I'm currently using the MIUI dev ROM from September 11th. If you're using MIUI 6 then clearly the problem spans numerous ROMs. Poop.
My problems happen regardless of whether or not I'm doing anything else on the device. It also doesn't seem to matter whether or not WiFi or data are enabled.
As a kind of aside, I also can't get my Moga Pro to connect in Mode A. It appears to pair OK but then just won't connect. Searching around for answers, this also something that at least the MiPad suffers from too (since last year!). Looks like Xiaomi has Bluetooth issues full stop.
I like this device, but some of its quirks of both hardware and software are making it more and more likely to end up on an auction site.
I can't wait for a more stock-like rom to be out.
This might be of help to someone: Someone suggested replacing the bluetooth app from /system/data with an older one (needs root).
I wasn't successful in replacing the app. Instructions here:

Thanks for the link.
I tried it too on the developer ROM. It doesn't work (it breaks Bluetooth completely).
A2DP doesn't seem to stutter with music for me after the 17th/18th update. I've only tried a few songs. It's possible that the actual bitrate has decreased though. Apart from the stutters I'm sure it sounded better before. Maybe I'm imagining it.
Briefly tested 6.7.7 and it seems to work! Contacts synced for the first time, A2DP and calls worked. I'll let you know on the audio quality as soon as I have the chance to listen for a longer period of time.

Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 Bluetooth headset has no sound during calls

I can listen to music or videos with Bluetooth headset but if I place a call there is no sound during the entire call.
I’ve tried many different ROMs. There are some 4.4.4 that doesn’t work but most do. Anything higher and up to 7.1.2 does not work. Tried with 3 different headsets. Have searched but find either no answers, sound quality issues, or problems with car stereos. I have heard there are Bluetooth problems in general but doesn’t seem to be much talk about no sound in calls with Bluetooth headsets. I have heard there are Bluetooth issues with Lineage OS but I have not heard about no sound during Bluetooth calls.
I’m I missing something obvious? I was thinking about asking about this in some ROM threads but thought I would try here. as it happens on almost all ROMS. I’ve tried a bunch of random things short of throwing it against the wall which I guess would make the problem go away but technically not fix it. So if anyone can offer suggestions and make me look like an idiot, please do.
Have you made sure that both options in Bluetooth settings for audio and voice are checked?. You might need to look for an advanced option menu?..
