Hello all,
I know there have been many threads regarding the bluetooth connectivity. However I will make my problem a very specific one.
The problem I have is with ICS being that it doesn't distribute audio properly for players other than - com.android.music-1_4.0.4-eng.jenkins.20120523.231950.apk. This audio player that came out with CM7 and apart from that player no other players output can be heard on my car stereo. That being "Rockford Fosgate 10.1" that comes standard with the suzuki kizashi.
I have reported this problem to the owners of the custom roms but without success. The last successful audio playback was on Criskelo V.38 via PowerAMP and ever since the transition to ICS it simply doesn't work.
Now I have bought PowerAMP and max @ poweramp has been very helpful with answering my questions and what he has to say is that it is the rom/kernel that distributes the sound via the bluetooth channels and not the player itself, which sounds reasonable.
However, The only thing that is stuck in my head is how come one player works fine whilst none of the others work? if the admins permiss and if someone would like to try it I can upload the apk stated above as it is the only way I can get the output to work.
I tried using the apk with Jellybean update but i think its non compliant, so my hopes are diminishing with the advancement of platforms.
Since it is an issue that I cannot resolve except the patchwork I have done by using the same apk for all roms, I would like some help from the champions out there who can resolve the issue. I can upload logs/whatever info you like.
Thanks in advance and please feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
P.S: Great work to all the people involved in releasing custom roms and XDA

Sorry, can't help. I just found I have the same problem. What is com.android.music-1_4.0.4-eng.jenkins.20120523.231950.apk?

Every Android build claims in the OP that bluetooth works, but I have not found a build yet that has working bluetooth in call audio. I hear media audio just fine.
I have tried many workarounds, kernels, wm builds, radios, and Android builds. From reading through many threads it seems this is a recurring issue. I have however seen a few people who claim that they do have bluetooth working properly.
In my signature you can see what I have running on my phone. As for bluetooth I am using a Plantronics Voyager 855 and have also tried a Motorola H500.
Sorry for starting a new thread about this, but search is currently not working in XDA.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Are we missing a driver or something?
If you do have bt working for in call audio can you please provide your wm/radio/android/kernel combination?
Thanks
Anyone know if its technically possible to get the sound routed to standard bluetooth 'hands-free' device. I know I've successfully done this on all my past devices with help of 3rd party software. I see several iterations of software for android out right now, but none have worked for me on Atrix.
I know buying a AD2P headset would be the ideal software free workaround. But I've tried a lot of bluetooth hands-free out there, and the one I have now is just so comfortable, I just can't switch to A2DP until it absolutely dies.
I've seen a few people requesting this across other forums, wondering if the Atrix is even accessible programming wise to do this?
thanks
I don't understand your question. I have a bluetooth headset which I play music on, and which auto cuts music for calls, has a mic, you can dial by voice command, etc.
It's hands free like any other bluetooth headset other than the power button, volume buttons, etc.
What exactly are you asking?
I believe OP is requesting any App that can be used to Hear Music on a Mono Bluetooth Headset which do not support A2DP Profile.
Using regular Bluetooth without A2DP profile will allow us to Just make /Receive Calls, not for Music.
I also tried BT Mono, but it didn't worked for Atrix and eager to know any other way we can able to hear music thru regular Bluetooth Headset

SakDroid is correct. Not all bluetooth headsets support the AD2P profile, and some phones won't play music to them for a reason unknown to me. I've had 4 phones with this same bluetooth headset and only one of them natively would play music with it. All others I had to install app to redirect sound...such as the referred to BTmono. So I know it's possible on Android, just wondering if there is something preventing it on the Atrix, or just hasn't been developed yet.
I would gladly pay to get development started on this. Since I would have to pay money for one supporting A2DP, but you know how it is when you have that one that fits/works just perfectly. I've bought a few that do support the profile, but ended up returning them all, as they just weren't comfortable to wear very long.
Btmono worked for me on my samsung epic 4g on froyo....then sprint sent an ota update to their version of gingerbread 2.3.6. it is very phone specific with what your carrier puts out I think because my wife has an stock htc evo running 2.3.5, and my brother has samsung epic touch running 2.3.7 and both of those different phones work fine with it. So what did I do....I found a custom rom that was built off 2.2.1 froyo. I didn't read the full thread so I don't know what exactly what phone this is for. Only option is to get to know everything you can do with you phone, root it and try different roms. Young and old. Also...on the eipc forum we had a discussion about this....they all had the same issues with gb...even the custom roms. Would love for the developers to learn a work around, since is up their ally...but shortly after there was a good leak for ice cream sandwich which I tried and its pretty good...just a bit buggy for me. When all the kniks are work out will be moving onto that and bypassing any gb that is out for the epic. So my advise, again, is just try different stock roms first....just to find out which ones...if any will work. Then you will know what custom one to look for...if you into that sorta thing.

Hi there,
I have CM7 installed, and I use an OEM car dock, but the audio out doesn't work from the dock. It just plays through the phone's speaker.
Also the Audio settings in the dock settings on the phone is greyed out.
I understand that this is a common issue with the SG2, and there is an app called Galaxy Sound Redirector that sorts this out, but it doesn't work with CM7.
Does anyone know of a kernel that works with CM7 and Sound Redirector? Or of any other way around this issue?
I don't need calls to work, just other phone audio (for the music in the car - I have BT for the calls)
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've spent hours searching!!
Thx,
Trip
I think you want to read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531483
Thanks, seen that, but only lists 1 kernel and doesn't say whether compatible with cm7...?
It also lists entire ROMs, one of which is CM7, which is listed as having support [N] None.
Yes you are right, as a standalone ROM it doesn't support it, but certain kernels do.. If you check the actual app, the developer even mentions it (I should have mentioned that!)
Hi all,
Since i've installed the official ICS rom on my phone i have one major issue.
When i stream music over bluetooth to my car hifi it lags, well it's worse then lag i cannot even hear the music it's like constantly stopping and playing like if someone was spamming the start stop button. I never had this problem with GB 2.3.6.
I somewhat found a workaround but it's rly annoying to keep doing this to hear music. What i do is just when i connect to my car hifi i start playing with the volume rocker buttons so i can hear it trough my car, when I'm doing this i press the play button on the music player then it works fine until i stop the car or go to FM and go back to BT
This is definitely software related because the workaround i just described makes it work again :S. I don't want to go back to GB do you guys know the cause of this and do you maybe have a fix? Is this issue solved in the newer version of ICS XLP2? All i saw is that all of them have the same kernel so i did not upgrade.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I've never used 2.3 so cannot say if it's a 4.0 problem but it certainly looks like so..
I'm running resurrection remix 10 and use it on a Toyota TNS510 system..
Just a notice that this seems fixed for me now.
I've upgraded to the 4.0.4 Rom found here: Click!
Next to this i'm using the app "doubleTwist"
ICS talks a different language then gingerbread when it comes to A2DP, especially for the play/pause commands, which seem important to me..
Has anyone made reference to what the cause of the bug is in their code logs???
I did not find any solution for this problem. Some apps like poweramp have a solution internally which reduces my problems a bit. But when i use tune in for instance i still get hickups. Im using F1GalaxyNexus AOSP rom at the moment.
Hi,
I've been reading in several threads that CM10.1/AOKP4.2.2 etc. are having problems with audio?
I haven't seen any posts about audio issues in some time, so I'm asking - is 4.2.2 Android having audio issues on HOX+ or they were fixed?
Thanks for reading and replying.
EDIT:
In CM10.1 thread it says "WORKING: [...] AUDIO" and in FAQ:
Q. OMG Audio sucks
A. Live with it for now [...]

First, thanks for replying.
Second, you meant "No, people are living with it" or "No people are living with it"?
I'm still confused.

It's a work in progress. When it's fixable they will try to fix it. But it's better than not having any sound right?

Are these problems just with the speaker, or with headphone audio also?
I haven't had problems with headphones/back speaker as for now.
I haven't tested the front one.
HTC One X+ Music & Audio Stutter (Skipping)
Hi Guys,
I'm not sure if this is the same problem being discussed here. But after a month of using my One X+ without any problems, a few days ago when i was listening to music loaded on my phone, it started giving a short stutter randomly while playing it through the music app. I've downloaded several music players (Poweramp, Doubletwist, n7player, VLC player) all with the same stutter problem (with & without Beats). Its extremely random and occurs mostly when the phone is locked. I thought it might be a memory manager app so i deleted all such apps but the problem persists. Has anyone faced a similar issue? Is there a fix for it?
This also happens while playing games with my headset connected! The game audio stutters!
Thanks,
Jonathan

Not too sure about the game audio but when I play music on the speaker on my phone or listen through headphones, I usually get a studder or what sounds like a CD skip for a millisecond. I have checked my mp3s and none of them skip or studder on my computer and I have flashed many roms and re flashed the original ruu but still a skipping noise.
Not too sure the cause because I hear it on Pandora as well sometimes, but more often when it plays on my music player app.
