[Q] USB Code43 connection HD2 - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, when i´m trying to connect my hd2, there appears the error usb port code 43.
dunno what i should do, the only thing i didn´t try yet was hard reset. All other things didn´t help.
I use standard usb 2.0 with windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.
things like new drivers, soft reset, spb backup didn´t help.
on my hd2 i have installed spb ms, standard o2 rom, framework ms 3.7 now. i tried to connect without the sd-card, nothing!!!
i can´t use the sd-card without the hd2. My pc doesn´t find it, but my hd2 does and i can use it on my ppc.
looking forward to your help

First try to remove the device from your hardware manager.
I do not know about Windows 7, but in Xp/Vista:
log on as administrator, right-click "my computer">manage then select Device manager.
In XP you will first heve to set a system variable to let you see hidden devices in order to be able to remove them.
(read this article)
Then try reconnecting the device.
Try to insert your USB plug fast and surely (most of these error are cause by slow insertion of USB plugs. Init of the device then can get interupted, resulting in faulty drivers/harware recognition)

thx a lot...but sry it doesn´t help. my windows still does not finding my hd2 and the sd card in it! I really often tried it with ghostbuster, but after rebooting when i´m trying I can find my divice ghosted in ghostbusters list

1)Do you have windows mobile device center installed?
2)Have you tried another USB cable?
3)Do you get this error with any other USB device?
4)Can you connect your HD2 to another computer?

the last thing i need to do is to try another usb cable

No USB sync ;(

Suddenly, by USB sync is gone. I can BT ActiveSync and serial, but no USB. I am sure it's something in software, because after hardreset it recognized via USB again.
Any ideas?
TIA
little help
 I had the same problem twoweeks ago ,and I realized that from some strange reason one small application repllog.exe (located in windows directory) is not activated anymore. This aplication activates USB communication, and when you run this manually -active-sync will work. However I dont know how to fix this problem to run it automaticcaly, but -i don´t want it eather, because of I´m using connectionto internet through GPRS of my XDA2 (WModem+HTC USB modem driver+USB modem dialer) and automatic sync via ActiveSync makes collision in communication (blocking USB port)......
From M$ site:
PRB: ActiveSync May Stop Responding or May Not Connect After Many Soft Resets
SYMPTOMS
If you soft reset Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 for a Pocket PC device or for a Pocket PC Phone Edition many times, the device may stop responding when you synchronize with Microsoft ActiveSync through a serial cable or a USB cable. Infrared transfer speeds are not affected.
RESOLUTION
Hard reset your Pocket PC device. For more information about how to perform a hard reset, see your device documentation.
MORE INFORMATION
Restoring an ActiveSync backup may not resolve this problem if the backup was made when the problem existed.
To reproduce the problem, perform a soft reset several hundred times.
I've root it down this problem to notifications queue. Memmaid apprently killed repllog.exe, as mcmills correctly pointed out.
I also recently encountered this problem. I cannot, however, find repllog.exe.
I even usedthe search function but the file is just not there. I am an
experienced user and I do not remember deleting anything.
By the way, I'm using Windows 2000 SP2.
repllog.exe
For>ahro
this file is not in PC, but in XDAII, so you need to look there: XDAII_root\Windows\repllog.exe ....

Newbie - Driver and getting started

Hi,
I am sure these questions have been asked a thousand times but I have searched for the last 30mins through the boards and cant find any.
I have been given an XDA which is locked to O2, I have a cradle with a USB connection. The software CD however is broken. I have plugged in the USB and allowed Windows to search for a driver for the new hardware (I have XP home) which it doesnt do. I have searched to download the software which is on the CD but I cant find any. Could anyone please advise me what my first steps are?? The XDA is on fine I just cant connect it to my laptop.
I have seen manyu ask about unlocking so Ill follow those examples.
Hope someone can help really want to get this XDA working.
You need to install Activesync...use google, or check the main pocket pc pages, 3.8 is released a few days ago.
No drivers are needed!
just download MS ActiveSync 3.8 from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...21-8a85-45a2-8d13-653beb6cdddc&DisplayLang=en
Enjoy
Thanks for the help.
This may sound stupid but I have downloaded activesync and run the .exe file it copies the files then does nothing. It doesnt provide me with an application to start.
Anyone had the same problem?
It should appear on your programs menu on the desktop, try plugging in your xda to the usb and firing up activesync on the xda if it doesnt start automatically.
It shall ask you to connect your device to the cradle..
After installation, put your device in the cradle, and wait till the USB port detects the device...
You shall see the ActiveSync window after that. If not, then check your USB ports.
What version of Windows you have? WinXP?
I have Windows XP home.
Ok ill talk you through the steps I have done.
1. I downloaded activesync and ran it. Copied files but didnt produce an application.
2. Put XDA in the cradle and connected to my laptop through USB. Windows detects new hardware.
3. I have tried for Windows to look for the software but then it doesnt find anything.
I have also tried to open up active sync on the XDA whilst it is connected to my laptop, activesync opens fine on the xda but it doesnt fire anything up on the laptop.
ActiveSync 3.8 System Requirements:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/as-sysreq38.mspx
I don't think its a problem in your Windows!
try to install ActiveSync 3.7.1 from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync37.mspx
If it didn't work, then double check the cradle's USB cable, maybe its not well connected to the PC or maybe its defected!
Otherwise, ActiveSync shall work like a charm!
Tried that too. Thanks for the help though.
I think its something to do with my operating system as the older version of activesync also doesnt provide an application to open.
delete the unrecognized PDA from the device manager, then plug it in again.
I've got ActiveSync 3.8 and I'm XP Pro SP2. XP does not see the XDA in the cradle. I've tried everything I can think of. Are you sure no driver is required? I read in the O2 help that you can plug the cradle into a hub but I've got a brand new motherboard that has several ports. I've tried all the ports but XP never sees the device.
Hi, in response to the questions above have you gotten the ActiveSync to open up at all? Also, when you plug in the cradle does Windows acknowledge the cradle connection or not?
Firewall ...
I had a similar problem and had a firewall running (not the Windows XP one). ActiveSync needs to connect to the PC through 127.0.0.1. If the firewall blocks that it can't see the device. It opens fine, says it's connected (in this case) but the phone registers no connection .... might be something to look at.

Just a simple suggestion but try cleaning out the temporary files etc. stored on the Athena also delete the partnership with the pc, uninstall activesync, reboot the PC then reinstall activesyn then reconnect the Athena. Try to sync the bare minimum first (calander, task, and favorites). I had to do a hard reset before I could get my email to sync my emails also.

He did mention that he tried several computers: "i tried it in another desktop, laptop but i have the same problem".
So the common denominator is the Athena, but not the OS. Starting to sound like a hardware problem. Did this start after you dropped it, or left it in a hot car?

Pc Connection Problem

The last while my HD2 wont connect with my desktop. I connect with the USB and the phone just charges i cant physically move files unless i change to Disk drive. I thought this might have been a problem with the ROM i installed (Dutty's Creme De la Creme) But the phone connects to my laptop as it normally would and any other computer.
I recently did a fresh install of my pc OS and i still seem to have the same problem i still cant locate the phone. (unless i choose disk drive)
Iv tried everything that i can think of to fix it but nothing. Can anyone shed any light
Cheers,
russe
go to settings, connections, USB to PC and untick the box for faster data sync.

[Q] Cannot connect TP2 using USB on Android

Hi there,
I have just started using the FRX06 bundle on my HTC touch pro2, but am not able to connect to Windows Vista using USB. The phone is found as a disk drive (but I am unable to open it, it asks me to place a replecable disk), on the phone the USB sign is visible and it gives me the oppurtunity to enable USB connections (when sliding the topicons downwards over the screen. But when I hit the USB enable button, it just keeps thinking about it and not connecting whatsoever. In device manager it also says Android phone with the ADB interface installed, no exclamation marks anywhere, but still no luck. Anybody an idea what could be going wrong? There is nothing wrong when connecting with windows mobile, so hardware should be ok..
Thanks, Wouter

USB connection does NOT WORK, at this moment...
You can use DroidExplorer.

Yes, adb is the only way to use USB at the moment.
Please read the FAQ.

Please read the FAQ. USB mass storage is known not to work in any configuration using loopback images (e.g. system.ext2/data.img)
It sort of works (will mount to the computer, but you can't remount the SD within Android) if you partition the SD card with some native ext2 partitions. (system on partition 3, data on partition 4)
