[Q] Safe boot doesn't work after rooting - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Following the excellent guide in this forum, I managed to install a new 2.2 image on to the Hero and play around with it. I wasn't happy with it and restored the original system, which worked just fine.
I looked around and found another image to play with and loaded it on to the SD car and wanted to reboot it into safe mode. That, however, failed.
All I can see ist the Hero logo and after that it simply displays a red warning sign without any further description and no way to interact with the phone other than removing the battery and restarting the phone.
The original software boots fine, but I have no idea how to get back to the safe boot options and install another image.
Any ideas?

What version of android did you restore to?
You will need to re root your handset using the suitable method, and reinstall your patched recovery.

[Q] Atrix 4G Help- Stuck on the Goapk Logo while loading CUSTOM ROM

So, I managed to brick my Atrix 4G. It was originally running on Gingerbread 2.3.6, but I wanted the 4.0, so I set about rooting it and everything, which, as you can see, backfired.
What I did was:
1. Root it using the pre-install method (No "One-Click"- I actually tried that method, but it didn't work for me; thus, I had to go about doing it manually)
2. Unlocked the Bootloader.
3. Tried to install ClockWorkMod Recovery.
4. Tried installing the Custom Rom 4.0. WHICH FAILED BADLY. My phone wouldn't start at all. I mean it would switch on, and I could see the "Unlocked" on the top left, but it wouldn't go further than that.
Also, I was wondering if my phone's really rooted? because, after unlocking my Bootloader, my Superuser app's icon disappeared. The ROM manager wouldn't even work. I would get an error stating that "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged command," but I went ahead anyway, using the "Press vol. button while switching on..." method. I then cleared every single thing- i.e. factory reset, clear cached, etc. Then, I tried loading the zipped custom ROM file on my SD card; everything looked fine, as if the files were correctly uploading- at last, it even said the whole process was done. But, switching on, and waiting and waiting led me to nowhere.
Today, I re-installed the stock 2.3.4, but I wanted a 2.3.6, so I did a software update, but now my phone is stuck on the goapk logo screen. I read somewhere that this is because the Bootloader is unlocked.
HOW DO I GO BACK? D:

[Q] Help for clockworkmod install needed

Hello,
I just got my new phone, and are desperately trying to install a MIUI ROM (which i've used for about a year on my old HD2).
I own a XT910 GSM (UMTS) version, loaded with SPDREM_U_01.6.7.2-180_SPU-19-TA-11.6_SIGNEuropeAustraliaEMEA_USASPDRICSRTFR_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot firmware (french)
Now my problem is that i cannot get Bootstrap nor RazrTouchBlack CWM recovery to work.
I always end up with a black screen after the first boot logo.
After having tried mattlgroeff's Droid Utility 1.82 for rooting, i tried RazrTouchBlack 5.8.4.5. After initial boot logo, i endup with a black screen. I've tried getting into recovery a couple of times without success.
After a while, i decided to fully reinstalled my phone with RSDLite 6.1.4 (version stated above).
I then tried rooting my phone with EPRJ_EasyRootICS_MultiOS_v1.5, and installed RazrBootStrap.apk. After initial boot logo, i endup with a black screen. I've also tried RazrBootStrap a couple of times, and RazrTouchBlack... without succes.
I read about Boot Manager but it seems it's really buggy with MIUI as for know.
Well, i don't really know what i'm doing wrong, i'm used to flash HTC / samsung devices... This is my first MOTOROLA but i don't think get the error.
Can anyone bring light on my problem ?
Thanks
EDIT: I also tried RazrICSBootStrap.apk... Same results.
Well... found the problem:
I've also played with boot menu manager 0.27. Told me " you don't have enough free space on /preinstall "
So i looked into /preinstall with "super manager" file manager, with root access, and show hidden files option.
I've deleted everything in that folder and tried boot menu again. Works !
After this, i've fully reinstalled my phone with RDS lite, then emptied the /preinstall folder again, installed ClockWorkMod Recovery 5.8.4.5... With SUCCESS !
Yeah. /preinstall folder seemed to make trouble, and doesn't get emptied even after a full wipe and RDS lite stock firmware reinstall...
Hopefully this might help out people in the same case.

[Q] note stuck on Samsung + model screen. details inside.

Hey. Been lurking this forum since before i got my NOTE.
ran it stock for a bit noticed issues.
Rooted thru Odin3 V1.85 (DA_G + zaptor99 's methods)
things worked ok cept for streaming video online (not youtube)
in an attempt to freeze my social hub and answering machine notification (its disabled on bell's side but i still have a notification that won't go away)
I assume i button mashed or did something wrong went i went to freeze those apps.
the note acted like it crashed, slowed the hell down and froze.
upon restart, i get past the first samsung screen, into the second that also has the model number in is (in my case SGH-i717M)
this is where the phone get stuck up on now.
Useful info:??
I can get into Download mode. I can get into TeamWin Recovery.
But the phone doesn't seem to get recognized by Odin3 anymore (v1.85 or v3.04 )
So would there be a way to restore thru Teamwin's recovery by using my SD card and loading it with the required files?
or do i have a brick on my hands?
thanks in advance for any help whatsoever!
It sounds as if you have frozen your launcher, and of course this means the device wont boot past the splash screen.
If you have a nandroid backup of the rom prior to the freeze, you can push that image back to the device using recovery. (wipe first)
You can also push the exact same rom image you are currently using, (rom image only) to the device via recovery, and correct the issue as well. (full wipe)
Either way, fully wiping the device before a nandroid restore, or fresh rom install is always a good idea.
You are very far from bricked...
Good luck....g

Save Files in Soft Brick and make it Boot again

I wanted to sign in to Snapchat but apparently, that doesn't work if you have root.
I then uninstalled the Xposed Framework and ignored it saying I should wipe dalvik cache (I now know that's stupid but I don't have a recovery or some option to do that rn)
Next, I went to SuperSu and did the full unroot.
After that I was told to reboot and now I'm stuck at the picture you always see before the bootanimation starts.
I'm looking for something like Titanium Back to get really everything saved and from there on make my phone boot again, stock rom is good enough.
I have access to a Windows PC which doesn't recognize my phone via USB, a big enough SD Card.
However, I don't have a custom recovery installed and when I try going to the stock recovery, it just says "No Command".
If I boot into fastboot, the phone acts as if everything was the way it should be while my PC still doesn't recognize it
Also, I can't remove the battery on this phone but making it go empty doesn't help either.
We´re talkting about my Umidigi Crystal 2/16 Version <-- The 2/16 is a different version!!
And it was running stock rom which was Android Nougat.
I´m not that experienced whith these things, you might have guessed it.
Thank you for any help though.

Installing Custom ROM Lots of issues and nothing really works anymore.

Hello XDA Forum,
so in order to get rid of all the garbage Samsung pre-installed stuff I wanted to install a custom ROM like LineageOS. To do this (since I'm a complete layman) I used this guide for the most part: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...fn-ds-lineageos-19-too.4431737/#post-86951249
First Issue arrived at point 12, when despite "swiping to allow writing" TWRP would not allow me to copy filed onto the phone. So I read somewhere else to reinstall TWRP, which I then did after a lot of back and forth. Sadly when leaving TWRP it seems almost impossible to get back into TWRP, the phone just loops around a recovery screen telling me that bootloader is unlocked. It's also no longer being recognized by ADB and Fastboot, or Odin for that matter. And even reinstalling the USB Driver did not help.
So I read somewhere to reblock the bootloading and then enabling it again. So I did, and now I cannot unblock it anymore either. It just sits in the "Downloading Mode" and when I hold Volume Down and Power it goes into the Recovery Screen and then IMMEDIATELY back into Downloading. I can't even turn it off because it's basically stuck in Downloading.
If I could make it work again and findable by ADB I might be able to just use a different Version of TWRP (not the one advertised in the thread linked above) and maybe try again. But then I also don't know why it was so hard to get into TWRP to begin with. Or is there now no escape from this loop and the phone is essentially bricked?

so you can not flash stock?
