Anyone have any idea how to fix this? For the past 4hours I've tried to enter download mode with no success. My pack date on the box is 8/22/10 so possibly it's quite newer than the ones on the forum?
I've seriously tried EVERYTHING posted. Please if anyone can help I'd appreciate it. The place I bought it from is a Tmobile Authorized Dealer however; there return policy doesn't return phones, i'd have to go through tmobile. My phone is rooted, i'm worried if I return it if I'd get billed down the line for that.
It boots up like normal except, the Splash screen for Tmobile Welcome Think Family etc.. blahblah.. the music doesn't play there anymore, it plays at the Samsung Galaxy S screen then it looks like it's going to boot on to the desktop and just has a black screen.
If anyone has taken apart there galaxy and done anything that way, I'm willing to do it. I have work Friday, and no phone, my job requires it to take my tech calls. I'm pretty screwed atm, so any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you,

Did you flash a froyo sbf over a gingerbread one? If yes, the phone is bricked. Sorry!
When you turn the device on - does it say anything about NV FLASH and then turn off?
From what i got is it was updated.
i was trying to flash the old stock rom
i dont know if it was froyo or gingerbread
NV FLASH yes for a little while like not even a second then it turned it self off
anyways this morning i got up. and now all i got is a green light and nothing else.
i called motorola this morning and they guy that anwered said it had warranty so i sent it in.
maybe when it come's back i take every step needed and be carefull flashing it.
thanks guy for the quick reply
okay, I am seeing this alot, but everyone else unit seems to shut off before anything can happen, mine does not, it simply stays on. That being said, I am conducting an experiment, since my ATRIX was afflicted I baught a new one because I liked the webtop idea, so im charging my new one to 100% and then im going to swap out batteries and check the results. Has anyone seen any evidence at all that might suggest a possible fix? I will update you guys on the results of my experiment once completed, hopefully I can come across something that will lead someone to a fix if not find one myself.
I won't brick my phone again. It's a SGH-I717R (Rogers). It was loaded back with AT&T 4.0.4 after it was unbricked but I've lost data signal, no internet (WIFI was OK). I've tried to root it again and now, I can only go to the Samsung logo... (Smell of burned fuses) At least, I can boot the download screen. I only see 2 choices. I put it on eBay like that or somebody logs of my laptop with Teamviewer and do it for me. I'll pay 50$, via your Paypal account after a full successful upgrade. So, who's the first one interested to help me to get it back to work with JB? Don't really care about the ROM, the only real options I want is Sphere, fast interface and stability. Thanks.

Start over. Use the "Return to Stock" thread to return the phone to then state is was in when you got it...minus the burnt fuse smell, and any damage to the hardware. Re root it, reinstall CWM, then flash JB.
I don't know what you were doing to the phone, but I believe the Note came out Feb 27 (???) of last year, which could mean your warranty expires in just days, or a couple months from now at the least. If its fried, but doesn't have water or drop damage l, it could be defective...if that's the case, return to stock and send it in to Samsung for a warranty replacement.
If it really does smell burnt, companies have an extreme interest in their own combusting products. Call up Samsung.

What I meant about the smell was the fume getting out of my hears. No physical damage.
Too late...
Too late guys. Jasonstackhouse got the money. Thanks to him.
Way to go JStackHouse! Hope you really do get paid. If not, you're a good guy. OP, hope you got all the fume outta your "hears".
fume in yur hears is a bad sign, and should be looked at by a doctor....
But I'm glad the phone is not hurt...LOL
Pardon the pun but I have hit a brick wall with my LG e970. Last night I followed this guide to root and unlock the boot loader and everything appered to go fine. Today I recieved my code to do a sim unlock and, this is where everything sarted to go wrong. After entering the code the phone tried to do an automatic reboot and hung on the LG logo screen. After doing some research and getting the phone into download mode I tried to unbrick it using this guide. After I finished flashing it I tried to reboot and to my dismay nothing happened, I mean nothing. My phone no longer even turns on and when I try to boot into download mode I get a QHSUSB download prompt on my pc. Is my phone toast? Is there any last resort actions I can take? Can anyone tell me what exactly happened?
Thanks in advance for any information.

following your links, your demise was the second guide you used. That guide is for the INTERNATIONAL VERSION of the optimus G, you have the AT&T variant, thus ending up with a nice brick(phones are completely different). Sorry to say but as far as i know there has been no progress on the QHSUSB mode front ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2458139&page=2). Looks like JTAG is your only option right now, might as well google about it.
wow, I'm not quite sure how I feel right now. That's what I get for becoming frustrated and impatient. Should have gone to bed and dealt with it in the morning. What exactly is QHSUSB? Is there any chance this is something at&t would deal with? I would rather pay a repair few then have to buy a new phone.
Thanks

Don't really know much about QHSUSB, just enough to know that when you get it you are hard bricked. Wouldn't know if at&t would deal with it(if it is under warranty you might as well give it a shot), otherwise go for jtag.

AT&T may try to charge full price if they decide warranty is void, or that could be just a myth. LG has a one year manufacturer warranty, I don't know their policy for covered repairs.

Ok so, I'm bumped and this morning my screen cracked, and became unresponsive to touch, but was acting as if I was making selections. (as in Pandora started playing on its own because I had the widget on my homescreen and I couldn't get it to stop without a battery pull). I have insurance on the phone so I can get a replacement, but its on backorder.
Now before I send it in for a replacement, I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how to remove the bumped TWRP, and go back to stock recovery, without a touchscreen lol. I can't even unlock my phone on my own...sometimes it will do it itself, but that's only if I'm lucky :/ I think right now as it is, I'm stuck. But I'd really like to send it back without it being bumped, in case of voided warranty purposes and me not getting a phone, or even worse, them finding the method to achieve the bumped unlock, and then them end up patching it!!
What do you guys think? Any ideas or feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
You're going to have to try and do this blind, but how about tot city to reflash everything to stock?
Here's a link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/development/tot-vs985-10b-share-t2832488
There are instructions on how to go into download mode on the flash tool by using your volume & power key. The flash tool will probably tell you when/if you have a connection. Just make sure you have the lg drivers installed and you should be able to flash the tot file and get your phone back to stock. Good luck

Thank you so much for that suggestion! I'll be sure to give that a shot in a bit and see how it goes! No screen selections will have to be made in the process, other than signing in once its up and running, correct?
Yes. It should just flash once you get it connected and hit a button on the flash tool.
Take a look at this link as well just in case the other link doesn't help. It has good visuals to help you out some more:
http://www.androidrootz.com/2014/07/how-to-unroot-lg-g3-all-variants.html
FYI- at step 2, hold your vol up button for @ 5 sec and then plug in your USB - it should vibrate when it connects... I believe. Doing it blind sucks but I'm sure you'll get it.

Man thanks again for that suggestion!!! I knew about it but figured since I had an unresponsive screen, that I wouldn't be able to complete the process and because I've never had to reset this particular phone before, I just wasn't 100% sure it would work. Thankfully to your suggestion it did and is now sitting on the starting screen. Just what I needed.:good::good::highfive::victory:

If you have insurance then your G3 being bump'd should not make a bit of difference. I have returned several unlocked and rooted phones to Asurion with no problem. You're paying for insurance mainly for physical damage. Your screen is obviously cracked and damaged due to that so there should be no worries. Also, if your insurance provider wanted to try and figure out how the Bump method works they could easily get their own G3 and Bump it. Having your Bump'd phone is not going to give them any more of an inside look into Bump than if they got their own device and did what everyone else has done.

Ahhh thank you for that bit of info that would have been great to know earlier (for my own sanity's sake lol) but at the very least, I have wiped all my data clean which I would have preferred to do anyways before sending it back
I've returned 3 Samsung captivate phones to att that still had Cyanogenmod or MIUI on them, same with the 7 or 8 Samsung Galaxy S 3 phones I brought back on my insurance plan with Best Buy Mobile. They request it be stock, but if the screens broke they can't check it until the screen is fixed, at which point they will just flash it anyway.

Doesn't the insurance cover it, if it's lost or stolen? Sounds to me like you lost it.
It's good to know that they accept devices with 3rd party/modified software. I was never sure if the insurance companies did or not. If you send it to a factory service center they'll tell you your warranty is void for sure. Its all about finding a way to charge you $.
But I do think it's wise to wipe your device if you can. I used to do phone repairs for a large anonymous Korean company and I've seen a lot of amateur porn, credit card info, social security #'s and other personal info that really shouldn't be out there. People forget what is on their phones a lot of the time. Definitely take the time to wipe your device before you send it somewhere. Its ok to be a little paranoid sometimes
Hello
I am new to all this. I am a Samsung owner and think I have owned more than my fair share. However, I seem to be able to learn to save a life just fine but my son's phone is kicking my butt.
SGH-I337
4.4.4
1337UCUFNJ4
He cracked the screen and when I went to replace it I broke the housing. So I replaced that. Then the camera stopped and then the WI-FI stopped. I think I have the back camera working but the front one isn't I have replaced the WI-FI wire twice, I cant get kies to do an update even using 3. I tried flashing it with odin it said it passed but yet nothing.
I was able to get my gs3 working and now the s4 well i'm frustrated. Is there anyone willing to work with me and be willing to walk me through this. He loves the phone and I don't want to have to buy a new one while i'm in nursing school.
Then maybe we can work on my phone.. nothing wrong with it. would just like to know more about it. I have the g900a (galaxy s5). My ex is taking me to court me is there anyway to get deleted text off this phone???? Its not rooted and well I'm a little scared to try to afraid I'll screw it up or something. lol
PLEASE help i'm not stupid just lost with things right now....i catch on quick :fingers-crossed:
