Swype has expired!?!?!? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
I've been using Swype for about the last 6 months on the Windows Mobile side of things and it was probably the first app I looked for once I made the switch to Android. I opened a thread asking for a version I could use on Android and someone kindly pointed me in the direction of one. I have been using it for about the last 2-3 months on dans froyo build and it was fine. I made the switch to Hyperdroid yesterday and today I got 'your trial period has ended. please upgrade your copy of swype'. I still get the keyboard but I can't Swype!!!
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing and keep getting the same problem. If anyone can post a working up-to-date version and/or help me with my problem? Any help would be much appreciated, it's the only keyboard for me now.
Thanks in advance

Swype is no longer free, you need to purchase it in order to use the latest version. And people can no longer post it in these forums. Sorry, dude.

Not 100% sure about this one but one of the guys from Swype came through the forums a while back and said something like their working on the final version, and until it comes out their won't be a full version available. I think that was the jist of it.
I have version 1.56 for Android and it hasn't expired, I've had no problems with it on any Android build I've used. PM me for more information
UPDATE:
Just checked the Swype website, no download links, here's what I found:
------
Swype Beta for Android™
The Swype Beta is CLOSED
June 2010: Thanks for your interest, the Beta is now closed.
Please register here and we will notify you when the beta re-opens.
------
This confirms what I said, no final version yet, it was just beta testing. Not quite sure why mine still works, but no complaints

Yes, sorry you can't purchase it either
But, as I said on my previous post: Google
on another note, this thread would be more appropriate on a general forum rather than in this development one.

Swype is on mattc download. Download his build and it comes with it, if not pm me.

All I can find are Beta's. Am I blind? Can someone point me in the right direction. As I said, I'm not looking for warez, I'll pay for the official one if it exists.
Thanks

Read my above post. I promise it's the truth! That's why you can't find it on the market. Weird, I'm using 1.56 with no issues...

1.61.xx.xxxx here works great doesn't scale to 180 dpi perfect for people with fat fingers like me..

I have never used it but there is an app in market called "SlideIT". They have a Demo to try. If you like they have the full version to buy.

The version I have, and have been using on every build for the last month or so is 1.61.37.8128_WVGA800_by_jd ... according to the long ass file name lol. It's a great version, much better than the 1.56 I previously had. Bold letters, less annoying "click" sounds. I love it. Which is why I've kept the APK of it on my SD card the whole time...</hint>

same problem here

it cannot be bought as yet.. as it is still in beta.. plus it would appear it will only be available to OEMs.

actually.. the swype version most of us have been using is the 1.56.. that was the last or second to last release of the beta version which expired back in may. some1 dunno who apparently cracked the expiration lock so we could keep using it. .. i think what they did now was just reset the timer or whatever.. so thats why every1's is expiring again today

Personal MMS problem on Cronos and VillainROM.

Ok, first off I tried the latest CronosROM, tried the MMS fix using the method (link) provided on cronos rom page1. Meaning that I changed the settings in /data/data/com.telephony.db to the apn's of Telus Mobility, rebooted the phone and srill doesn't work.
I did the same on VillainRom 12.0.0 still no MMS working.
If your one of those that can find every fix on Android, don't be a smart ass and just provide the info please without making a scene.
Cheers and thanks to the smart guy that can help me out!

Where is the fun in that?
IMHO it's infuriating reading the development section and half the posts you read are just users asking questions in the wrong place, i'm just providing them with the same treatment as they provide to the development section of the forums (i.e. sh*tting on their threads just like they sh*t all over the forum)

The engadget stage ui version

Hi guys
I just wondered if theres anyway to get hold of the olderand cooler stage ui that was pictured on the engadget website ? With its radio ,books and movies widgets,as I'd love djsteve to get hold of it and include it in his builds in the future .
Anyone know if this would be possible at all ?

Perhaps engadget's version is an unfinished update or something. I can't see it being anything else, although, in typical android fashion, updates sometimes move backwards rather than forwards so i wouldn't be surprised if we never see it...

I always read about before posting. the last post in the thread was november 22, so I asked about it.
Not sure if this is the answer you guys are looking for but the pics I saw on the engadget post showed the home screen with what looks like a dock. However, it is not.
As with DJ steves builds in the past if you hit the home button it will show you a preview of all home screens. In the Stage UI if you hit the home button you will see the dock looking thing pictured in the engadget post.
Hope this helps.

If they change the architectural software structure of Ice-cream(2.4 or 3.1?) then no it would not upgrade, But I would bet a dollar the phone will be able to handle at least 2 or 3 more upgrades before software and apps will require a larger ram and duo core cpu
BTW way to the other posting....... froyo, gingerbread etc are the code names they gave each version of android....... 2.2, 2.3 etc
i have this rom gingerbread 2.3 from another forum but im a noob how do i flash

Well either you or he was confused. There's more than a couple Gingerbread themes out there, but thats all they are is themes. There is one EXPERIMENTAL Gingerbread build out, but as such, its not stable and could not be used daily.
Its being worked on, but Samsung has not even released the 2.2 source yet. When that happens, maybe some doors will be opened in that direction.
But as of right now there is NO stable Gingerbread rom, no matter what your friend told you. If there was you would have gotten actual help, instead of some of the less serious responses.

[Q] Original ROM?

Greetings,
The reason I want to install a new ROM is because, for some reason, my phone doesn't have android market; and I couldn't find another way to install market applications or to buy android market.
My questions are:
Is there an original ROM somewhere? that is, a ROM that was taken from an xperia mini pro (with android market)
Do custom ROMs have Android Market in them?
I'm a total newbie, so sorry if I'm asking the obvious
Thank you
Here all rom has the market.
Great, thanks Andreson
But are there any original ROMs?
You could use the PC Companion to restore your phone back to the original ROM
I have market'd rom.

Hey bro,
I dont have the file on this laptop but as soon as i get home ill post a link to my SE 2.1 with xrec and su already done, other than those it is completly stock. It has market on it. Let me know if it works for you.
Cheers,
evilbarcode.
Edit: It is the old kernel tho (2.0.A.0.504) so if you still want it let me know and ill post a link.
Edit 2: Here is the link. This is for the mini pro, or rather i should say thats what the fw came from. I take no responsablitity if you brick your phone. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16618406/SE Stock 2.1.zip

Hey bro,
This wouldn't work because he has already said that his stock doesn't have the Android Market. This to me would mean that his country doesn't support the market yet, which is an odd thought. Anywho, flashing that should work for you, unless you have the mini in which case it wont since its from mini pro.
Peace,
evilbarcode.
i believe it's not the region problem, i believe every android support the market.
you can check this link.

You are right, the android market is supported by android in all regions but cell companies themselves may not support it. They are the ones who make the software their own (add their own bloatware and shiz like that). If this guy bought the device from a company that doesnt support market then the phone will not have market on it, but it is still able to have the market installed. Follow?
So in which case instead of flashing the rom i posted, best bet is to follow the link you posted. It would be easier and then he can stay on the same fw his cell company provided.
Cheers,
evilbarcode.
just as evilbarcode said, about the company thing, every android devices should support the market apps.

Have Bell Note - Will Provide Files

To all the people on this forum much smarter than me - I will give you as much support and information as I can in order to get a working root exploit on this badboy. As of now, zergrush and gingerbreak are aboard the SS Fail. I actually managed to snag the only Galaxy Note for Bell shipped to my city, but can't properly "move in" to the phone until we get root and thus I get Titanium up and running.
Say the word, and I'll provide whatever I can to the cause. It is the same model of phone that AT&T is getting.
**Edit: Would post this in the dev forum, but I've pretty much lurked XDA for years and never really got around to posting much...so I'm still not allowed.
