[Q] Where can i find x10 mini pro ROMs ! - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Where can i find x10 mini pro ROM and can anyone recommend a ROM.
thanks

We don't have a way of flashing the phone yet, so no ROMs for you.

Any reason why ? sorry for the nub question.
cheers,

It's just that no dev's been trying to do it I guess

The biggest hurdle is getting past the bootloader. The different handset manufacturers all use their own bootloader and flashing tools. These tools are secured to prevent "unauthorised" tampering with the firmware. Until our intrepid developer friends have found a way past these pesky little hurdles we're stuck with stock firmware.
Hope this helps.
J.

so i guess you can only root x10 mini pro

Thanks
ok, thanks a lot jamesg

Theres a way to flash a rom now.
I hope new roms will be coming soon, especially with android 2.2 or 2.3.

Is that confirmed?
...would be nice to have the bootloader cracked an therefore to have custom roms finally

There's already a custom 2.1 ROM available for the bigdaddy x10.

They're still ironing out bugs but they are making good progress.
What we need now is someone who can port it to the minis

oh... okay then i'll won't do it..
anyone else got suggestions/tips?
since the X10 has quite different hardware from the Hero, it will undoubtedly be a *lot* of work, hardly worth it..
pleeeaseee do it, ive been waiting for someone to tryy...
it wont hurt, as he said, it shouldnt brick it.
of course i want todo it, but i don't want to brick my device
it wont brick the device as its only firmware not bootloader that gets affected. It most likely will hang and not boot and will requrie a wipe/install afterwards tho. Would love to try the x10 firmware!
ok, well i'll make a port, just simple as explained in the tutorial, and then i ask a romcooker to look at if it's safe, ok?
rightnow i'm dlling the decrypted version of the rom, and i will try to edit it, with some hero stuff, and send it to a romcooker before i will flash it..
first i downloaded the decrypted rom

not trying to be rude here, but if you need to ask these questions you'll probably fail at porting the rom... no offense intended. you cannot brick your device by just flashing the rom, for bricking you need to f* up the radio or the spl.
Sorry but im just a beginner and i wanted to try something, and i wanted to be sure i wouldn't brick my phone or unroot it..
When im home ill try to port it.

no need to apologize...
good luck with that, just be warned that the guide you linked is in now way a guide for porting. what it says about porting is the part everyone could have come up with. it totally skips modules, drivers and libraries. i wouldn't really know where to start either, and i have quite some knowledge about android by now.
don't let this stop you from experimenting! just be prepared to fail a few (or a lot of) times before you succeed.
btw, i'd love to see the x10 rom on the hero
Hello.
Even if you can port it, I doubt it'll run smooth on Hero, the hardware must be pretty gay for that rom.
Why u try to flash a complete ROM?
Only Mediascape and Timescape App is needed !
hf
because the whole rom of the X10 is just great!
when i'm home im starting the port, and i will upload the rom, when it's just booting on my hero..
and ye, i'm not really good at driver-coding and stuff.. so i think i need some pretty damn much good help from some proandroid-developers

we already can overclock the hero to 710 MHz.
I think that will make a pretty performance improvement

It's depending on your CPU, for exemple on mine I have to set it to 650Mhz for it to be stable, and over 670 it's crashing
And I guess overclock + X10 rom would mean a HUGE battery drain.
hmm.... yea you got a point..
well if i succeed we will see ;D
hmm i unpacked everything, but i can't seem to unpack the .sin files :S
i already tryed to change the extension to .zip/.rar and tryed to open it with notepad, but it doesn't seem to work :S
and i need to get in these files, to make it so i can try to flash it to my hero..

My Xperia is rooted, now what?

So i rooted my Xperia X10i with the one click software.
I downloaded the rom manager from the market but it doesnt support the X10. How do i got about loading a rom onto it now?
no chance, you are only superuser. the bootloader isnĀ“t open.
Ok this must sound daft but how do i do that?

Oh so its only the Xperia X10 that people are having an issue with changing the bootloader?
- install titanium back up and uninstall apps that you dont need
- install barnicle wifi for wifi tether
or
- unroot and enjoy what you have because honestly, people who rooted but has no idea what to do with root shouldn't bother to root their phones, it's harsh but sadly true
the question is : What was the goal of your rooting operation ?
changing the ROM ? (have you search informations before you begin this operation ?)
Root access provide you many usefull operatons, changing theme, cleaning unused apps, use some apps who need root...
It theses operations are not needed for you, root is not necessary for you....
I would like to load a new rom or roms onto the phone.
And anybody is welcome to do this to their phone. And this (So i was told?) is the place to ask for help. I know what root is and what i can do with it. But the Xperia is somewhat harder than other Android phones to hack.

Until the bootloader is cracked, that doesn't apply to Xperia X10 users just now.

It's the best place to come and ask for help, but members don't like people coming and asking questions that they would already know the answer to had they done their homework first.

I don't think so...locking the bootloader sadly is becoming the norm...with motorola goining the same way...agreed sony has a reputation giving hackers the hardest time...but progress has been made...and we will see cuatom roms

Downgrade from 2.1 to 1.6

I successfully upgraded my x10 mini to Android 1.6 and I'm not happy with it. Does anybody can help me to downgrade to 1.6 firmware version?
Why would you want to downgrade it? it's not like they removed features, I thought it feels more responsive and generally has more features.
Im not really sure its possible to downgrade other than flashing an old ROM, but im not 100% sure
It is possible.. Look at this thread for the 1.6 image http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826469
The flash tool are in the same section on the forum..

Official update

Hi,
I'm looking for a gingerbread rom to install on my friend's Optimus One. I myself have ZTE Blade and I have been installing custom roms and that sort of stuff for some time so I know how this work, but I'm looking for a stable, plain and unrooted rom for my friend's phone as he is not the most tech savvy guy out there. I found the official 2.3.3 update from LG but I've been reading that it's very buggy. What would you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance,
Arnar.

I think most if not all custom roms are rooted. If you're looking for something stable, IMO go for oxygen v1.1. Old baseband though.

I guess I could just tell him to stay out of apps requiring Superuser access or even make him learn this stuff But I'm guessing LG have not released a less buggy version then?

Don't worry, the LG official gingerbread is not buggy. It's just bad.

One more thing... On ZTE Blade we have gen1 and 2 phones (same specs, different partition layout and radio if I understand correctly), certain roms will not work on gen1 phones and such. Does the optimus one have something equivalent to that? If i want to install Oxygen v1.1, like you suggested, is it as simple as rooting, installing custom recovery and flashing the rom?

By all means, yes!
But the O1 has 2 two basebands - v10xx and **** v20xx
If you wanna check which one you have go to -
settings>about phone
And there will be written the baseband version.
If its v10xx then you can proceed with the steps you've mentioned.
Read the sticky FAQ in this section for more details.

LG official gb has no bugs ,, the only problem is that it drains 1% battery every hour... whenever i wake up in the morning i notice that 6-8 % battery is drained... while cm7 roms drain only 2% per night btw if your friend is not techno freak then official gb is best as it has no bugs and you may flash franco.kernel for gb over official gb to give it more smoothness

I would strongly suggest using flashtool itself. Link below:

As for Roms, try a few and see what fits you best. Below are a few:
