So i rooted my Xperia X10i with the one click software.
I downloaded the rom manager from the market but it doesnt support the X10. How do i got about loading a rom onto it now?
no chance, you are only superuser. the bootloader isnĀ“t open.
Ok this must sound daft but how do i do that?

Oh so its only the Xperia X10 that people are having an issue with changing the bootloader?
- install titanium back up and uninstall apps that you dont need
- install barnicle wifi for wifi tether
or
- unroot and enjoy what you have because honestly, people who rooted but has no idea what to do with root shouldn't bother to root their phones, it's harsh but sadly true
the question is : What was the goal of your rooting operation ?
changing the ROM ? (have you search informations before you begin this operation ?)
Root access provide you many usefull operatons, changing theme, cleaning unused apps, use some apps who need root...
It theses operations are not needed for you, root is not necessary for you....
I would like to load a new rom or roms onto the phone.
And anybody is welcome to do this to their phone. And this (So i was told?) is the place to ask for help. I know what root is and what i can do with it. But the Xperia is somewhat harder than other Android phones to hack.

Until the bootloader is cracked, that doesn't apply to Xperia X10 users just now.

It's the best place to come and ask for help, but members don't like people coming and asking questions that they would already know the answer to had they done their homework first.

I don't think so...locking the bootloader sadly is becoming the norm...with motorola goining the same way...agreed sony has a reputation giving hackers the hardest time...but progress has been made...and we will see cuatom roms

Hi Guys,
I've got a Desire, this white x10 is for my GF. It's running android 1.6, baseband 1.1.25 and is build number R2BA020.
I want to root it. I found a one touch root apk online which says, after running "woot, you're rooted". Personally, I don't think it's done anything.
I'd quite like to get Android 2.2 on here. Can someone help me achieve this?
Thanks

2.1's supposed to come in the next week. Bootloader (the thing that keeps us from loading custom roms) can be cracked at any time...it can be days, weeks, months, or never.

Use the 1 click root, won't damage your apps.

Hi.
You can use Titanium Backup, which is what I use but there others that are recommend too but as Mezzo said the one click root method won't affect your apps.
If i root my mobile does my warranty expires, right? so i wanted to ask how can i "unroot" my device?

Depends how you rooted it, for many of us it's just a click, but if you used one of the old methods then you would have to reflash.

Just got my X10a for ATT. Wanted to use one click rooting, but do not know how to get the app install. Keep giving me message "Install Blocked". Totally new to Android and couldn't find anything on how to install this app.

With the one Click Root - I dont believe us "AT&T users" can Install 3rd party apps...You'd have to root it the conventional way is my guess after reading a couple threads. Chances are, You're better off doing it that way anyways, Then you can Back up your APN's, and get everything working with a completely debranded, Rooted X10a
This question is related to the bootloader problem & the upcoming 2.1 update....Could SE change the way the bootloader works and negate the progress you've made?
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
since its not yet cracked ...i dont think SE will change the bootloader ...
i am not a dev .. this is what i think... but may be the new 2.1 needs a new bootlaoder ... so anything can happen .. but dev are keeping an eye on SE will loads its stock rom.. that way we can find ways to use to crack bootloader
I hope i can borrow this thread ...
Here's my question: Is there a way to delete certain games and programs that i don't and never will use without rooting my device? I like it the way it is right now, i just don't like that apps i'm not using wasting available space

I don't see how am i going to profit if i double the work. My question: "is it possible", was meant in this way: is there an app that allows doing this without rooting?
No, the default apps which came with the phone are located in a place which you can only reach when you have root access

One click root method, you literally have to install the .apk then click root. After you remove the programs you don't want, then click unroot. Doesn't get much easier than that
IS this one click method universal or specific from phone to phone? i am asking for my X8. There isn't a thread about this phone yet and because it is part of the same model group i'm asking here.
what?
What is horrible, the devs are days without saying anything about the breaking of the bootloader, we will do with the 10 x?, I begin to think that it is time to change by a HTC
you are the best, I encourage all devs, is that you can with this, I encourage and give them strong these of SE, thanks!
Hello, been having wars with my provider (signal) so now im back , there's a few questions i need answered.
1. my andriod is V2.1, Build :2.0.a.0.504, is this the best build for a generic x10i from SE?
2. Will this version support multi-touch, if it requires upgrading, will it remove my settings again?
3. Im looking at doing the beta Froyo upgrade, isnt it possible to run the SE "bloat" programs like Mediascape and timescape and creatouch on it?
4. Im trying to figure away to tunnle a connection so i dont need to use easyteether, i know Froyo has this ability with it, but how can i get 2.1 to get this? or do i still require an app on my driod to do that, as i find that the app bottlenecks it from time to time. (done tests where my Internet on pc slow, but the phone quicker)
5. i ran a rooting program, where u switched off an on ur phone, and it installed a super user program, isnt there another way to just make it super user with out having to have the super user application which i could of gotten from andriod market?
Please assist
p.s aren't you guys already working on throwing out 2.3 for the x10 already? or was it just a rummor?

Froyo has the ability built in, but SE's kernel does not support native teethering. You're stuck with 3d party teethering apps.

Rooting the phone can be done without installing SU and installin SU does not root your phone. SU is a program that tells you what other programs ask for "admin" on your phone and lets you decide if they should hav it.

Unfortunately this device will likely be locked just like the J327T.
I have been watching that thread and everything that has been tried is pretty much what I attempted to explain would be a waste of time.
The combination firmware is useless to gain root on nougat.
No auto root is ever gonna work either and neither is Flashfire or SuperSU.
There is a list of reasons why these things won't work, but I'll not waste my time in that thread explaining why.
I don't mind explaining further why here. Just so others will not waste efforts like on the J327T thread.
I'll let that thread run its course until all avenues have reached their inevitable dead ends.
They are harsh words, but unfortunately they are truth.
Suffice to say that the only real way for this device to see root is either an unlocked bootloader (highly unlikely), a proper engineering binary or an exploit is released for Android 7.
If an exploit is found then Kingroot will almost certainly incorporate it in their Software and then there maybe a chance that the combination binary (not the whole firmware) will help get root.
If anyone can confirm for sure this device doesn't have a locked bootloader then I'd be happy to work on it.

Yes there is a fairly easy way.
Also you need to read my posts in that thread you linked.

Again it comes down to people who don't understand what they are posting.
It's not me being negative, these things just don't work. If you want me to go in to detail for why then I can explain.

No, do bother going into detail, i prolly wouldnt understand.
If/When you work on either the J327T or J727T, i'm here to test....
BTW Chimera is saying them can root both devices. Before i think of putting up the money, what are your thoughts? At that point i might be rooted but no recovery
J727T/1 Recovery/Root (SS SafeStrap)???
Would this work?
Or be a good place to start, building off it???
IF I remember right, it was used for the S4 or S5 att, with same issue. It would set up recovery after bootloader, or something like that. I'm no noon, but not a senior either.
Just a suggestion??
Would be great if someone could implement it to work??
