Will there be a legend 2.2 sense port, if so how long will we be waiting
This has been asked countless times. If the legend gets 2.2, then it's highly likely there will be a port. Being as we don't know if/when it will get 2.2, nobody can say.

Not as far as I know. A quick Google search shows nothing, and I haven't heard anything elsewhere.

Oooo my bad then, sorry! Haven't seen that article before. If it's true then i'm pretty sure we will!
I thought putting sense ona rom should be easy copy over some libs,framework-res.apk from a sense rom, services.jar, rosie.apk and a couple of other htc stuff but obviously not

Numerous threads have been created in the past to this effect. Sense won't be coming on froyo till the legend or another device similar gets it...
What do you need from sense anyway? There's likely a third party app, or theme, to make you happy with it...

LOL. Not a chance. They're not going to bother updating the Sense version on the stock 2.1 ROM - it's likely the March OTA, being such a relatively minor update, is the very last official update the Eris will see. And fully working ports of Sense-based 2.2 and 2.3 ROMs have not been able to be made completely working; and I doubt at this point that it will ever happen.
That's what I figured expecially if the thunderbolt isn't getting. Just was wondering because the Eris wasn't getting froyo either but now I'm running gingerbread on it.

Android itself is open source, which allows any devs who want to create their own Android ROMs such as CyanogenMod or pure AOSP to do so. HTC Sense is proprietary and not open source, which makes making versions of it work on devices it wasn't made for much harder.
I like my froyoeris so much i hardly miss sense. it was nice but this phone is far, far better now than before <thank you kaos!> i might have tried one of the froyosense roms but i need to have a camera... cant miss the candid moments with the kids.
I don't miss sense at all. Besides the Widgets was there anything else really special to it?

I highly doubt it. They don't even think it can be ported to the Dinc in our forums. Sense 3.0 just takes to much space. Might be able to port some of the Widgets and junk though.

Agreed, been running AOSP forever tryed flashing a sense rom couldn't do it.

I just wonder that if could anyone know the way to mod CRT animation on the pure sense, I'm using Orange Glacier rom. I have modified the status bar, and things else, but this one is a hard ass one and I can't find the way to do it. Any idea?

Virtuous Fusion utilizes CRT animations so i dont see why not since its Pure Sense as well

My next project is to bring Royal Glacier up to date so we will see. Keep your eye out for it

Terms like "pure Sense" and "original Sense" to most people mean the version of Sense that is on all HTC phones except the myTouch line. If you're looking for the CRT animation for the type of Sense that comes on the MT4G stock, I'd call it "mySense" or something similar. That way folks will know what you're talking about.

Damn TeeJay, that was quik, I was going to edit my post to let him know the same thing. MySense is one of a kind (Made for t-mobile MyTouch Line) where as Original Sense is what is on most if not all other HTC devices.
I normally stay mostly in my little cave/thread but I did read a little about the MT4G Slide that might have Sense 3.0 but I have to assume it will be MySense so I am kinda wanting to see what that is about. I am actually probably one of the few that do like MySense. I think it has some UI things that I like about it.
We must have hit "submit reply" at the exact same time.

Its gonna be hard on any 2.2 roms. Like, almost impossible hard. Would have to port the whole 2.3 frameworks for it to happen. Adding it to the stock 2.3 rom, not as hard.

Thank you for your information, I didn't know it's that impossible hard But correct me if I'm wrong, I think I saw some MySense roms which are 2.3.3 but the Sense is still 2.1 ...

Hi, I totally got what he refered to, say, Orange_Glacier rom, that is mySense and its android version is 2.3.3
Ive seen it done on other android devices, So why not on a Atrix?
On which other devices did you saw the Sense?
The sense is a close code project of HTC, and can not realy be installed successfuly on non-HTC devices.
You can use themed launchers that has the looks and sometimes the widgets of the sense, as showed here:

but actually install Sense on devices that dont come with sense in the first place is not really possible (to be more accurate, it is even quite complicate to put sense on devices that do come with lower versions of sense or sensed android....).

you can't port sense UI to this phone. the only relevant solution is what i linked to.

The Sense framework is deeply embedded. I see that there may be a Nexus port but that's a developer phone with tons of active devs. We haven't even achieved an unlocked bootloader so Sense is as far out of reach as it comes.
If you're looking for Sense your best bet is to get an HTC device that supports it natively. rmk40 has a Sensation now and is super pumped to start developing for it. He always develops extremely clean, fast and highly optimized ROMS with relative tweak and minimal bloat. I'm positive that once the Sensation bootloader is unlocked he'll be pumping out the good stuff. I can't wait!

I know. I'm just being the bearer of bad news and putting it into painful perspective though... lol
I know there are some tweaks and similar apps out there but it just doesn't compare. People ***** and moan about Sense being slow and bloated, but rmk40's ROMs are absolutely beautiful. Now that we have a lot more tweaks for our Atrix devices I'm still really pleased, but I still desire the HTC Sense experience again. I freeze lots of apps but things like the Social Dialer and other widgets are just too beautiful to pass up.

Yes but tour link noy only didnt answer what the op was asking. Your attitude didn't help with an inccorrect post. All you had to do was explain that sense is closed and propriotery and very difficult to port to an open phone let alone a locked down one like the atrix

HTC made the hardware, architecture, put together the components, etc. It's basically an HTC Desire, or rather, the Desire is an upgraded N1.

So thanks to forum member capychimp the RUU for the HTC Endeavor has been leaked and soon after the system was dumped.
hopefully we will see a qualcomm based port of this rom sometime soon (as it is currently tegra based and will not function on our devices)
any thoughts?

rumor has it that a few members of xda have already got it running on the sensation (though quite poorly)
i'd suspect it wont be long before we see a plethora of ports.

I really wish i knew how to port stuff it would be nice................
whoever can port this is a helluva dev. different porcessor, hd res, etc. they have their work cut out for them
really disappointed that its gonna be with Nvidia, there are good dont get me wrong, but the lack of dev support they have its not good, had experience with the g2x, and only wrong thing was the nvidia wont release its drivers at all

its amazingly difficult to port anything from sensation, thats why we have no sensation ports to begin with lol

Because that's a sense 3.6 leak and.doesn't carry many of the 4.0 features.

I would run Sense 3.6 ICS on my device, as I'm sure 99% of the Amaze owners clamoring for ICS would. Have you seen developers post that they could do it but choose to wait? Link plz so I can go badger them (J/K I have ICS on the wife's Sensation and there is really no difference. Sense is Sense is Sense...3, 3.5, 3.6, 4.0, all the same 99%)

different style launchers, more features, beats audio integrated, more fluid, some better eye-candy, bliss launcher, new Sense 4.0 is COMPLETELY re-done (app drawer, animations, dual core support "when stable", etc).. im pretty sure 99% is a little off dont you think

exactly, i would rather have a complete upgrade that was stable and wait a while for it then have a fast update that was buggy out of hell.. If any of you guys had the Atrix you would understand my statement. They released the gingerbread update for it and it made the phone worse because it wasn't greatly optimized, people were nagging on them about releasing it so i guess they got tired of it lol
