Hi all, i have a tricky one for you. MUCH respect to the one that can help me out with this one.
I belived my HD2 to be faulty and was to return it in for repairs. Having HSPL on the phone presented a problem so i tryed installing from SD card to remove it and restore the phone back to original ..... exept that didnt happen.
See, i didnt save my original rom back in the days when hspl showed up and apperently, you need to extract your original rom if you ever inteend to restore it to full original. So after some tries, with stock 1.48 and stock 1,66 i gave up and did a task 29, installed NRG rom and was back to normal ... OR so i thought.
The problem that started showing was a strange connection error.
"Dialer
cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings " some more text of non importense is displayed on there.
Thing is i lose the connection for like 1 second, it then shows this message and the connection is back again ... so i just press "Dismiss" untill it randomly will occure again now and then.
Now i tryed radio 2.10.50.19, 2.10.50.28, 2.12.50.28_2 with no luck.
I tryed to start with 1.48 stock installed from computer, then Task 29 with radio, then the latest NRG rom ... and some older. Nothing changes this thing, and the problem never occured before. I tryed just Task 29 and straight to NRG rom, nothing.
Plz plz if you have an idee, or think you can help, plz do, this is getting on my nerves, what if i never can save it!!!! ... oh my oh my

Right now i have a 6.1 rom and the problem is back
I Don't know why but my phone some times freezes and when i remove the batery and connect it again i get the calibration screen. And i lost every data i had. the only thing that remains is the date and hour.

Sounds like it is doing a hard reset, which it should not. Type of ROM? Dropped it? etc. More infor needed.

So i already tryed all 6.5 in this forum and all have the same behaviour. I think i narroewd the problem. It happen when i read my replicated gmail account.
The same thing happend when i used the insomnia rom with windows 6.1.
Right now i'm using the official rom from HTC and i don't have freezes but i get a error message saying that the tmail.exe process has failed, or something like that.
But the hardresets have stopped.

when i flash this rom v3.3.1_3g_16_keys or the Insomnia 3G, i get problems with my dialer, When i press the phone button or try to dial a number i get a crash screen? it is not working. what to do?
I flashed to Radio 1.71.09.01 and also with this radio the 3G version roms are not working, the dialer part, still the blur sreen when i press the send button or try to dial a number!
The Insomnia - 2G are running without any problem at all? or the current one, is running smooth on my Niki 100 >>> Clean Black 6.5.2
Why i cant run the 3G roms? video dialer not supported in my country? or what - please any comments!

Finally someone who is dealing with the same problems as I had.
I had the same problems with my other Nike, I could flash the original rom's or a 2g version but not the 3g version.
The problem wasn't 3g but only the dialer.
Randomelements suggest me to see if I had some bad blocks by using mtty, I didn't try that option because I sold my Niki, and now, after a short period of using an Iphone (that I didn't like at all) i finally have a Nike which is not having that issue.
I know it drives you mad because nobody has having that problem, the only thing I did was searching for a dialercab and I always installed it after I flashed a 3g rom.
I know this is not a real solution but I'm very curious if you can fix this issue.
(or maybe you get your hands on my old Nike )

I always use the customRUU with hard / soft reset option build in when i flash and i do a hard reset...
Good this possibly make any sense if do or not reset hard....
i have the same problem. i think it is insomnia 3.x problem.
in my case after hard reset i flashed new rom - ok,
i set up all settings, install xt9 - rom stuck. ok, hardreset.
set up again, is ok, but after 1 day it can't boot. ok
hardreset, flash again, hardreset, no set up, using clean rom,
next day can't boot up.
flash new radio, newest, older, the same problem.
fail.
flash NIKI Clean Black - works perfect - fast and smooth.
Are you guys flashing back to an original rom?
My niki was stuck in a loop not too long back, would not boot up properly, thought it had given up the ghost, it is a company phone so was going back to original t-mob rom. But this cured my problem, phone now works fine with any rom.
Try it, get an original rom, flash back, then try anything.

But i still have the problem with the strange behaviour of the dialler, When i press the phone button or try to dial a number i get a crash screen?
A blur image - and nothing is working in the dialler screen.
I did all what could help, reinstall the original rom, flash SPLL / Hard / radio etc.. but without suc6..
I have installed this one: cleanblack 6.5.2 - animelover and this is working fine, no dialer problems at all.....
Maybe the video dialler in the 3G is the problem for me, i will try this weekend the 2G - 230XXX version..
The 2G versions are working... and i try a few others also no problem, but i didn't like them....
My current is the best for me right now, clean and quick, i love the Clean Black rom 6.5.2 and animelover is building a new version...

Ok I'm trying to help you, because I had the same issue, I read something in the thread but I need to know if your problem only excist with the Insomnia-rom because I don't think it is a problem whith the Insomnia-rom.
My phone had the same issue with almost all the 3g rom except the original, that's the reason I couldn't bring the phone back for repair.
I tried several rom's wm6.1 and wm6.5 from randomelements, salvyC, Insomnia, Davideuck etc etc and all the 3g roms gave me a scrambled screen on the dialer, the solution I offered you to add a 3g dialer after flashing was working for me, I found the 3g dialer in the 4shared folder from NemanjaLo.
As I told you before, that is not a real solution, I thought the 3g version from Gullum didn't gave me a scrambled screen, but I'm not sure about that.
If you do have the same problems as I wrote above, I think you have to try the mtty procedure as randomelements suggested me.
You can find that here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=390606 but plse be carefull otherwise your phone ends as a doorstop and I don't think it is worth it.

FYI > with 3G roms from Salvy or Insomnia i have a scrambled screen on the dialer.
Tried the Insomnia 2G version and this rom is fine but to slow and i try a few others..
Finally i flash this one > the animelover - Clean Black 6.5.2 and I'm very happy with it. i will go with this one....
BTW > When i started with my niki100 at the beginning, i flashed with the sspl-1.16-nike.exe procedure the HardSpl 1.22 file and i never never, flashed this one >>hardspl-1.15mfg-nike.nbh, make this any sense? could this be the reason?

You're right it is to tricky to use mtty that is the reason I didn't go for it to.
About flashing I don't think it make any sense because I start with hardspl-1.15mfg-nike.nbh and I had the same problem.
The only thing I know is that my Nike came from KPN but I don't know that is the problem.
I'm glad you found a rom that don't give you the problem.

That is funny, mine came from HI / KPN that could be the similarity, so we have a point, that might be all KPN / HI phones are fixed some how?
MTTY - Low Level Format would help?
Bought a T mobile HD2 (unlocked) second hand with energy rom installed.
Got it home & I find that the wifi & bluetooth are not working.
It picks up the network signal fine & the data connection is working fine.
But the wifi turns on & will not pick up anything.
The bluetooth it seems does not discover & is not discoverable.
I suspected it may be somthing to do with the rom so I loaded up a stock T mobile rom with the same results.
I have updated the radio with the same results.
The phone has Hspl loaded & I am wondering if I could do a complete cleanout of everything including Hspl & reload a completly vanilla stock Rom would that help.
I have fiddled with all the settings for both wifi & bluetooth & still no results.
At this point I need help!!!!
Run a task 29 then the stock rom of your choice, check the radio installed is compatable with the rom, hard reboot after completing the rom flash (its a good idea to do that first as well in case you don't need to run a 29 or flash)

I've the same problem ...I suppose.
I used a Touch Pro in the last two years and Energy ROMs since September 2009. I never had problems with Wi-Fi an Bluetooth.
Recently I bought a HD2 and tried Bloutooth and Wi-Fi only after 1 week.
So, both the Touch Pro and the HD2 got the same ROM (Energy ROM) flashed , each by its own version, but two days ago I discovered WiFi not working (DISCOVERED, because I never tried it before)
The problem seems an extremely poor signal seen on the on screen meter, only if I'm close to the router (1-2 meters!) I couldn't establish a real connection, because the HD2 loss the signal every 30-40 seconds.
Bothered about this I tried with Touch Pro: the result is the same!
So I concluded: "It's the ROM!". Strange (never had problems with Energy ROMs) but possible. I flashed the stock ROM on the HD2: the issue remains. So I thought about the RADIO, and I flashed the RADIO 2.12.50.02 (compatible with ROM). The issue is still here.
I used Task 29 before another flash, then I tried an Artemis ROM with RADIO 2.12.50.02... nothing changed. (note that I tried almost every different settings about Wi-Fi,from BsB tostandard enhance settings)
Last (related?) issue: when I try a hard reset, the progress bar starts to "move" but after 3-4 seconds (about a third of the bar) the bar disappears and I got the "Press VolUp button" message. Then the phone has the first boot... but I wonder if the HR is complete, because it seems yes.
Finally I came to this thread and... another doubt: what about BT?
I tried both the Touch Pro and the HD2 Bluetooths but they can't connect or recognize each other (every "Find" and "Visible" options activated)
I didn't try yet with Touch Pro (flash etc.) but I am very bothered and dubious about it.

The question I have now is which is the proper stock Rom for this T mobile HD2 & how do I find that out?

You are not alone. I am experiencing the exact same problem and have yet to find an answer.
Task 29 didn't help and reflashing the radio the traditional way (even with the stock rom) doesn't seem to overwrite whatever is causing this problem.
Would uninstalling the hspl do anything? I am running out of ideas.
Hi guys... try to search and google for an answer to my problems but cant find the solutions..
problems : let say i turn on my hd2 at 1.00 pm on12/08/10....
and at 1.30 pm on 13/08/10 i turn off the phone and replace the battery with fresh one .. turn it on... the clock will show the time and date as 1.00pm 12/08/10...
time will be reset back to time i on the phone on the first time and it will continue the cycle...
try hard reset but the bugs still there... clear all my apps.. clean phone... bugs still there....
my phone using stock ROM 1.48,702... everything is stock...
itsx all start after i do some tweaking & installing apps which i hv uninstall now.. but the problemis still there,,..

HTC service Center advised the following :
1. Take out sim card and storage card to eliminate the error tht maybe caused by this 2 items... i've done it... and restart... walaaa... like a charm it works...
But on fine fine day i install cab file... then the old problem again haunted my hd2...
tried the above methods.. this its no longer worked..
Fed-up, i just let it be like that... then on one fine day.. I install another cab file... CHT and CHT Editor to be exact... walaaa... the old problem eliminated.. hv install/uninstall few cab file after tht (analog clock cab file).. so far everything still ok..

It started to happen to me like month ago from no special reason. I use SD Android build, so with every restart to go back to WM, time/date changes from couple minutes to couple weeks to both directions.
Hard reset did not help. Another ROM flashed did not help.
It seems to occur only when rebooting Android -> WM. WM -> WM reset direction mostly OK. Battery-out almost always changes time/date.
Just a thought: Is there any kind of "CMOS battery" like in PC motherboards, that can be weak/broken in the HD2?
Any advice appreciated

I've got the same problem using Omega rom v30. It's solved easily enough by using sptimesync to get the exact time. What's your rom? I'm gonna flash and see if anything changes

This is also happening to me. It's happened before and it somehow corrected itself, but it's really annoying me at the moment. Any ideas as to the cause? Running WM6.5 ROM, stock 3.14. Not running android at all.

Now back to topic, I have a serious problem with my leo (T8585). It was started to freeze from a few weeks, after I changed ROM, but allways i was able to restet it. And now it froze for good. The screen is black and any buttons are not lighting. At the begining when i have removed battery and put it back, i could feel vibration at start but the screen didn't turn on. After several attemps I was able to run the device. And then, when i have tried downgrade radio from 2.15.50.14 to 2.14.50.04, it has showed me a error at the begin of process (0% of progress). I restarted device, but now I don't feel even vibration at start.
What can I do with this? Any ideas? Please, help me

What ROM did you flash? Maybe it is caused by a bug in the ROM..
Try another different ROM.
I test almost all ROM here, and Radio 2.15 is the best radio so far.
BTW, you need HSPL to flash a Radio or if you dont have HSPL installed, you have to flash the full stock rom.
