Can I remove them some how?i have root explorer so can I just go to system/app and delete them?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
If you have rooted your phone, you can do it with Titanium Backup. Just be extremely careful what you delete. I believe there is a list of safe things to delete floating around on the Cyanogen mod forum. Shouldn't be hard to find with inspector Google.
Bloatware would be anything that is not a stock android apk. Be careful not to delete anything that has to do with google or you will be sorry. I forgot the url but there is a master list of all the apks you can delete. Just google "android apk stock list"

Its probably best to just move the apks into a separate folder on your sd card rather than deleting them. The that way if you mess up you can just move it back into the correct directory. Or if you change your mind.

to the OP, I gave instructions in the sticky if you want something to reference. I agree with ^, I used Root Explorer to copy all of the files and then pasted them in a folder on my SD card. Then went back to system apps and deleted them, rebooted, good to go. I also gave a list of everything that could be deleted.
Samsung galaxy sgs2

Hey guys Im sorry if this is not supposed to be here, But I really need some advice.
I just recently bought a SGS2 in Canada with Bell Mobility and I was able to root my phone so that I could unlocked it. However Since I did this every time I turn on my phone I get a Yellow Triangle with and exclamation mark. and also this mark is on the top left corner of my home screen but very tiny. Now the phone works like a charm nothing is wrong, but I want to know if there is some way I can remove that from my power up screen and from the home screen?
And my last questions would be, Now that I have unlocked my phone can I unroot it? or will this locked my phone again?
Thanks .

+1 Op this is probably the best way to do it. Plus if you ever need to put the apks back, all you got to do is move them back, wipe dex and cache and reboot.
One thing that I usually do is use TBPro to freeze it first and see if there are any adverse effects. Did you know that gTalk works with the market? If you delete gTalk, you may see some wierdness with the market. If you just froze it, then you can thaw it out and move on.
My question is can we delete the odex files singly or do they have to be deleted in pairs with the apk?

So I purchased titanium back up cause I planned on experimenting.. I wanted to see if I could delete stock apps then restore them back to normal. The back up worked but the restore file isn't in apk. format where I found it. I deleted quadrapop nothing to die over but can some one explain how titanium works? does it only back up data and if so why is there an app backup option. Oh and how can I get quadrapop apk. My kid brother is gonna kill me. Thanks.

I don't know how you will get the game back but instead of deleting them you have the option to freeze them. I do this when i'm not sure if deleting will poo up the phone. It's easy to un freeze the apps (defrost !) But i've never seen the option to have apps back once you've uninstalled them.
You could run the phone through seus of course and put the phone back to it's original state

No making it master reset won't get the game back you have to reformat (repair)phone OS again. but search for APK first.
I figured searching for the apk would be the best idea , and thanks ill just freeze aps instead of delete, seems allot safer. I've been searching all day for the apk. With no results, is it some where here on xda

Bump, does freezing the app free space in the system app folder or just disable its services.
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
I could be wrong but even when i deleted moxier i didn't see a rise in phone memory so i doubt freezing them will change anything.

Hey all,
So awhile back I "froze" most of the bloatware (they were highlighted with a blue background)
Recently I tried to "defrost" them (returned to black background) and I checked my app drawer and sure enough the were all there...
However, after turning my phone off, and back on... they are now all MISSING from my app drawer! To make matters worse, they all have the black background so I don't know which apps I am missing.
This happens consistently, I can re-freeze and re-defrost all the apps and they will appear in my app drawer, until I turn my phone off.. then the go missing again..
ANY THOUGHTS?
THANKS!!
When u uninstall stock apps like quadrapop you can only get them back by putting the apk file into the phone mem and installing from there. In the android dev section theres a thread where someone posted a zip file with all the stock system apps you can download.
Once you have the apk u want u need a file manager with super user grant like root explorer or android mate, use it to put the apk file in phone mem in system/app and install it from there
I'm pretty new to titanium backup as well and this is how I got back calendar back, good luck

Quadrapop is available for free from PlayNow
Is it ok to use root explorer to delete apps I may not want? Or will doing so make it unstabe? Thanks
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
You should use titanium backup to delete them. I think it's included in Bionix. If not, there is free version in the market. You can also back them up before deleting them, in case you want them back later.
Why is it better to delete them thru titanium? Thank you.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Not sure it is better, but you can backup first. Also, with titanium, you are deleting from a list listed by application, as opposed to a file list. You can also back up the settings separately, so you could restore settings only or app only or both.
If you know you'll never want it back, then root explorer is fine. It's just that there are some many threads with, "does someone have XXXXX.apk, I accidentally deleted mine."
Thanks cp. They are things I know Ill never want. Like swipe tips, memo, diary etc.... I was just worried that since they were included in the rom, that deleting them would have some sort of negative side effect.

I just rooted my phone and i wanted to uninstall some pre-installed apps that came with the phone from my network but i don't see them on the menu in 'Uninstaller'
Can you help me please?
Also can i delete the 'Super user' icon so my phone appears to be stock/non-rooted?
I downloaded ES file manager/astro file manager and none could remove the apps 'error removing .apk' There is only like 3-4 things i wish to remove *sigh*
Download Titanium Backup from the market, this will uninstall the .apks that you want to get rid of.

Any other app that does the same? I don't want to spend $6.50 Just to delete a couple of things, I'll only use it to delete like 5 things.. seems like a waste.
I downloaded the free one and it says it'll delete the app/reboot twice etc.. but it doesnt delete the app or reboot twice, Only restarts the phone
Don't use the 'force remove app' option then, just cliick the one you want to delete in the list and click uninstall.

Ok, but it's not that simple, you can't delete everything without consquences, search for the list of files that can be deleted without harm, from your specific ROM!

I've deleted most of the apps that came from my phone network, Just 1 i cant delete for some reason. I think cause it's tied in with the browser but thats ok i'll keep it.
Anybody come across a way to free up mobile hotspot. Apparently AT&T got smart, tethering manager isn't there anymore like ginger bread had. I've been freezing suspicious looking items here and there, but no luck yet

haha ive been doing the same. still trying to figure it out. im sure someone will figure something out eventually
In the skyrocket thread they were able to open ultracfg.apk we have that file, but I can't open it. I copied it out of system/app and tried to launch it, but it's just the installer. I'm going to NAND backup, then I'll erase the one in app and see if I can't reinstall and get it to show in the app drawer

Removing that file was nothing but a pain. TiBu didn't want to reinstall it, erasing out of apps I couldn't reinstall from the copy I had. We might just need a person with access to a skyrocket with ics to pull it done supposedly theirs shows up in app drawer

damn. this was the one thing i didnt think of before putting ics on. hopefully someone can fix it
I'm Sure DAGr8 is going to put this in a future release of the modded version he posted last night.
TetheringManager.apk was still in my /system/app. I removed it and checked Titanium again. Tethering Provisioning was missing. When I tried to turn on Hot-Spot, Settings crashed. Restoring TetheringManager.apk, I am greeted with a message box to call AT&T to enable.

It says on skyrocket ics forums that the file to tweak is ultracfg.apk i can't open it. I'm sure someone will pull from an i727 and make a workaround for us

Ive been messing around with it myself, with no luck. I hope to get this working, AT&T doesn't need any more of my money.
I tried the ultracfg posted in the multi-dpi thread. The access point showed up on on my Xoom but I could not change the settings. Without the key I could not connect.
Long story short, I was using Root Explorer to de-bloat my phone completely and I think I managed to deleted the Market.apk
Anybody by chance have it so I don't have to re-flash to stock because I finally got my phone to where I want except for this.
Mods feel free to move if this isn't the right place to post.
Here you go!

I don't suppose you'd have a file manager laying around. That's one thing I forgot.

You can install thru Root Explorer or just push apk to correct directory reboot and you should be good to go

Got a nice program called Android Commander and it let me install everything I needed.
However, I installed the Market that Nathan posted, and it's saying I have to pay for apps that I've already purchased? Anyway to go about that?
Edit: Just had to re-install as a system app.
Glad you got it figured out
