Long story short, I was using Root Explorer to de-bloat my phone completely and I think I managed to deleted the Market.apk
Anybody by chance have it so I don't have to re-flash to stock because I finally got my phone to where I want except for this.
Mods feel free to move if this isn't the right place to post.

I don't suppose you'd have a file manager laying around. That's one thing I forgot.

You can install thru Root Explorer or just push apk to correct directory reboot and you should be good to go

Got a nice program called Android Commander and it let me install everything I needed.
However, I installed the Market that Nathan posted, and it's saying I have to pay for apps that I've already purchased? Anyway to go about that?
Edit: Just had to re-install as a system app.
Glad you got it figured out

Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
If you have rooted your phone, you can do it with Titanium Backup. Just be extremely careful what you delete. I believe there is a list of safe things to delete floating around on the Cyanogen mod forum. Shouldn't be hard to find with inspector Google.
Bloatware would be anything that is not a stock android apk. Be careful not to delete anything that has to do with google or you will be sorry. I forgot the url but there is a master list of all the apks you can delete. Just google "android apk stock list"
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Its probably best to just move the apks into a separate folder on your sd card rather than deleting them. The that way if you mess up you can just move it back into the correct directory. Or if you change your mind.

to the OP, I gave instructions in the sticky if you want something to reference. I agree with ^, I used Root Explorer to copy all of the files and then pasted them in a folder on my SD card. Then went back to system apps and deleted them, rebooted, good to go. I also gave a list of everything that could be deleted.

Hey guys Im sorry if this is not supposed to be here, But I really need some advice.
I just recently bought a SGS2 in Canada with Bell Mobility and I was able to root my phone so that I could unlocked it. However Since I did this every time I turn on my phone I get a Yellow Triangle with and exclamation mark. and also this mark is on the top left corner of my home screen but very tiny. Now the phone works like a charm nothing is wrong, but I want to know if there is some way I can remove that from my power up screen and from the home screen?
And my last questions would be, Now that I have unlocked my phone can I unroot it? or will this locked my phone again?
Thanks .

+1 Op this is probably the best way to do it. Plus if you ever need to put the apks back, all you got to do is move them back, wipe dex and cache and reboot.
One thing that I usually do is use TBPro to freeze it first and see if there are any adverse effects. Did you know that gTalk works with the market? If you delete gTalk, you may see some wierdness with the market. If you just froze it, then you can thaw it out and move on.
My question is can we delete the odex files singly or do they have to be deleted in pairs with the apk?
If anyone has a way to temp modify the hosts file to strip ads from the evo3d or has a modified version of adfree that works with the perm temp root method.
Thanks in advance

I just tried it on my Evo 3D, I checked both the symlink options. I suppose it will stick until a reboot, not unlike the perm-temp root.
Hmm. I chose the symlink options but it's not working.

I think a big issue is you need to reboot to flush the dns. But then when you reboot, you lose root. I just posted the question in the q&a forum if there was anyway to flush the dns without rebooting. So far no replies.
I'll look into that, if I come up with something ill post it here. The ads are making my eyes bleed.

Fantastic idea. I would love this as well.
Maybe we can push the hosts file with temp root after reboot.
This would be awesome. Adfree is the root app I've been missing the most since getting my EVO 3D.
Install ad free, update files, reboot, reroot. Open app and it will be granted su permissions. After that, dont update or reboot and your fine. Been running it perfect for 5 days. Dont forget you have to partition your sd card. If you have your old rooted phone, put the sd card in it and use rom manager. It WILL WIPE YOUR CARD. Always back it up.

Thanks (can't thank anyone else today) but why do you need to partition your card?
Confirmed this works. I don't know what the sd partition had to do with hosts file, but it didn't work without it. Thanks randy.

partition for ad free
i believe, and anyone feel free to jump in on this, it stores the host files there for the ads on the sd card. if it recognizes the app is trying to access the host files, kind of like a little quarantine or filter, it stops it. With the updates (and ad free asks to report adds that leak through) it adds to those files in that partition. Just a guess.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'm still getting adds. I did what u said but it's not working for me for some reason. I'm sure it's something I'm doing or not doing.
Edit: So I don't understand this but I tried this several times and it didn't work. So I uninstalled ad free and then reinstalled it and updated it and then without rebooting or re-rooting I went into astro and I now have no adds. Kinda weird but hey, it's working.

Thanks bro, Ive been trying to get this to work.
Can someone point me in the direction of, or provide for me an installable .apk file for DockMode 2.1.21? Somehow my Titanium Backup of that is corrupt or not allowing me to restore. And the ROM Im using has removed it.
I dont think this is an inappropriate request, but if it is by all means remove the post.

Thank you very much for the effort. I attempted to install it via apk installer, root explorer and ES File Explorer and it will not install. Using Root Explorer gets me a parsing error, and the other two installers simply fail to install.
I'll try again tomorrow if someone else hasn't.

Whats this apk for ? is it differnt docks or what?
This is the stock Android application that automatically starts when the phone is placed in a desktop dock.
Thanks again...
Anyone else??? Since most of these ROMS have this pulled out, there has to be someone who knows how to make the .apk installable.
Pretty please, willing to buy you a beverage of your choice if you can help me out.
I just recently switched from a Droid Charge to the Rezound. There was an easy way on the Charge to see all your files and downloads in a nice File Folder. Is there anything like that on the Rezound or something from the market I can download?
Thanks
jwalker007
astro file explorer, or es file explorer. If you want to see your download folder, open your app drawer and click on downloads.
I like ES the most but if you're rooted then Root explorer is the way to go.
Thanks I'll give it a try.

Unless you did something while having root access in ES, there's really not any way that the program could cause your boot looping. I always use Root Explorer, but I've used ES before and never had any troubles.
I use Astro file manager from the market. It's always worked flawless for me.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to take the root checker out of the time warner cable TV app. Admittedly I haven't researched as much as I could. I will continue to. Just thought I would get some advice if there is any to be had. I would like to use this on my note and note 10.1.

I haven't time to decompile the app yet. There seems to be some problems with different phones/os. Lots of info to comb through. That's kinda why I started a q thread here to see if anyone has worked on disabling a root check in an app. Specifically on our phone. I only have an hour or so a day right now to even look into it. I appreciate your thorough reading of said thread. I'll get to it eventually. I've just never tried to disable a root check before.

It will take you less than 2 mins to get this working on a rooted Note.It is so simple it's silly.I couldn't rename superuser with ESF file explorer for some reason so I used the root browser in Rom Toolbox, just an F.Y.I. if you were going to try to use ESF.

When did you try this, because I tried that yesterday and it didn't work for me. I'm on Paranoid ROM.
I did it all three ways with no luck. But using it by changing my phone isn't the point. I want to change the app. That's why I ask about any insight into removing the root checker.

Its a simple fix. Change the name of superuser in system/app to SU or whatever you want and you'll have no problem

ok that explains it, it work for me when I was on Flapps ICS. So it may just be with jelly bean CM10 ROM that trick doesn't work on.

Have you tried OTA Rootkeeper? I don't know if it works for the app you're talking about, but it worked for the Flixster app for me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.otarootkeeper&hl=en
It allows you to save a back-up of your root, and to temporarily disable it.
If you are on Jelly Bean you need to modify your build.prop. The setting you need to modify is the:
"ro.build.tags=test-keys"
to look like
"ro.build.tags="
along with renaming the superuser.apk. So the steps to get it working in JB are:
1. Uninstall the TWCTV App
2. modify the build.prop by removing the above setting
3. rename the Superuser.apk located in /system/app using ES File Explorer
4. Reboot your phone/tablet
5. Re-install the TWC TV App from the Play store and you will be good to go.
I've used this method several times works for me every time I flash a new rom.
Open root explorer
Navigate to /system/apps
Mount r/w
Delete superuser.apk
Go to settings
Scroll to applications
Find TWC tv
Clear data
Open TWC tv
Log in
Click live tv, to make sure it worked
Reboot phone
Open play store
Download superuser or superSU (your Preference)
Done.
Twc tv only checks for superuser once, so after you get the app set up, You can reinstall superuser and you will be good to go.
