I just recently switched from a Droid Charge to the Rezound. There was an easy way on the Charge to see all your files and downloads in a nice File Folder. Is there anything like that on the Rezound or something from the market I can download?
Thanks
jwalker007
astro file explorer, or es file explorer. If you want to see your download folder, open your app drawer and click on downloads.
I like ES the most but if you're rooted then Root explorer is the way to go.
Thanks I'll give it a try.

Anyone have issues with these? I loaded es and two days later my phone started boot looping and no way out of it. Kind of worried to load one

Unless you did something while having root access in ES, there's really not any way that the program could cause your boot looping. I always use Root Explorer, but I've used ES before and never had any troubles.
I use Astro file manager from the market. It's always worked flawless for me.

Hi, I know this is kind of a weak topic to start but, I haven't been on Android in about 3 years and have really lost track of, and gotten out of the loop in what is going on here.... I still remember alot, and even had .apk's stashed away from having a rooted G1 running CM6 back in the day.... I want to know what file explorer/browser you are using and why... I am currently unemployed and don't really want to spend on a pair file browser but wouldn't mind paying $.99 so post your favorite even if it costs more and tell me why!!!
TIA
it dont matter right now
Just use stock until we get (if we get) bootloader unlocked and sbf. but i have root explorer downloaded it works great you can get into any file you want, but you need to be rooted. Even though right now if you have a x2 there is no reason for a good file explorer there is nothing special to do right now. i bought back in the day when i had a og droid it was very useful back then.
I use root explorer as well it helped me swap my sd card partitions with ease once we had the right file. I just find root explorer to be easier to use its not complicated at least to me.
For the browser I use dolphin hd its free in the market. It works fast has some pretty good features like addons support, slide your finger on the left side of.the screen and you will get your bookmarks. I enjoy using dolphin.hd better then the stock.browser

I use stock for now. Used to switch between Root Explorer and Astro on my Droid. Astro helped me view my sloppy, unorganized SD card with ease.
I always have root explorer for when i need it, but I use astro any other time. Mostly out of habit, a few ROMs I've gone through even came with it, but its also pretty feature rich. My buddy was always using ES, and if i remember right it had some nice features for those that root built in.
Astro works better than the stock file manager, but root explorer really is king in the field.
Always used Estrongs on the stock. ROM. But miui has a decent one pre-installes. It even has an FTP server and used space analyzer. Which is very awesome!

Anyone using Droid Explorer?
Over in the Touch Pro 2 forum, it was mentioned quite heavily and it appears to be working.
Or is this more of a tool for rooted devices?

Pretty sure Droid Explorer is a Windows program that allows you to decompile apps

I use File Expert. It is great for Root access and it also connects to my home pc over wifi for copying files.
Thanks for all the opinions folks... Really appreciate it... Went ahead and spent the money for root explorer as I plan to be on android for a longtime coming now....
I also picked up root explorer and it is definitely worth the money. Android should have had this all along.

Root Explorer... fast, simple, displays file icons.

X2. Root is legit.
Root Explorer is the choice for me
Root Explorer.
Reason Is That It Allows To Edit Just About Every File.
Forgot Androzip If No Other Explorer To Install R.E.
ES file explorer has always been good to me. Its free and has root permissions.

+1 root explorer. Ive been using it for a long time and since they added thumbnails it has it all IMO
I know ASTRO is like the main one but are there others that are possibly better than ASTRO?
Ive really grown to like oi file manager, and its free

Now that Astro has "upgraded" to a huge, bloated, useless app (IMHO) I don't think there are any that are worse? I've used ES File explorer, it seems to do what I need but, as always, YMMV.
Id recommend Root Explorer. Sure you've got to pay for it, but its more useful than all the free explorers combined.
Signature.
Astro has become junk IMO.
Es File Explorer
2nd choice would be root explorer but I stick with ES
I used to use astro........ But switched to es file

I too use ES. It has Box and Dropbox integration and I can get files from shared folders on my desktop when connected to my home WiFi (LAN access)

This is the best rar/zip handler that I've used on android. unrars/unzips anything you throw at it!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.zdevs.zarchiver&hl=en
Better then anything else I've tried including pro versions of other apps! Enjoy! Be sure to give the guy a 5 star rating if it works well for you!
I just use the built in one of ES File Explorer.

Its that the same that cames on AOKP? Its great but its not deleting any file over here.
Thanks for the heads up but I'm also yet to come across anything ES wasn't able to handle.

Long story short, I was using Root Explorer to de-bloat my phone completely and I think I managed to deleted the Market.apk
Anybody by chance have it so I don't have to re-flash to stock because I finally got my phone to where I want except for this.
Mods feel free to move if this isn't the right place to post.
Here you go!

I don't suppose you'd have a file manager laying around. That's one thing I forgot.

You can install thru Root Explorer or just push apk to correct directory reboot and you should be good to go

Got a nice program called Android Commander and it let me install everything I needed.
However, I installed the Market that Nathan posted, and it's saying I have to pay for apps that I've already purchased? Anyway to go about that?
Edit: Just had to re-install as a system app.
Glad you got it figured out

Hello all
Is there an onboard task manager in this phone that'll allow me to manage content of my SD Card and other things or do I need to download one?
If so, what are some of the best Task Managers available?
Thanks
Task manage or do you mean something like a file explorer? Try estrongs file explorer.

I think he does want a file explorer. Estrongs is good, Astro used to be but it's glitchy and overwhelmed with adds

Everyone needs to but Root Explorer. It does everything a file explorer needs to and more. You can edit virtually any file and change values without destroying the structure of it. It's the ideal all in one file manager.
Tapatalked from my shiny new HTC Evo LTE
Agreed. There is nothing as good as root explorer. I tried a kinda cool one called Xscope, but it was just too cluttered. Hmm, maybe on a screen like this it'd look cleaner. But yeah, everybody buy root explorer.
And the best task manager is no task manager. Lots of literature about that. Android is the best task manager for Android. (And maybe an init script or build.prop with OOM values modded)
sent from my Evo LTE, usually.
Depending on what you want I use es file explorer which has root access and RAM booster for task managing though task managers are the devil

This. The only thing missing currently is streaming from smb, but that's noted in one of the change logs, so I suspect that will be back soon. In the meantime I keep ES Explorer around for that. Otherwise it's functional AND easy on the eyes, a rare combo.

+1 for Solid Explorer
ES anything Solid Explorer can't do.
