Universal Root vs X10 Root. - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I rooted my X10 with Universal Root and then came across X10 Root. Is there a difference between these two and should I re-root using X10 root?
Thanks Much.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am curious why you switch to unroot, they can both unroot, right?

the X10root version i have installed on my phone only has the options to root and exit, which is the reason i switch to universal androot to unroot.

Which version / where did you get your version from. Been looking and can't seem to find one that has the 'unroot' option. A link or something would be great,
Cheers

I just tried the link but it doesn't have the unroot option, thanks for looking anyway. I'm rooted already but just wanted to swap to an x10 specific version

Amazing! Will try 026 later.

You mean you use this X10 mini/pro method to root your X10?
Does it give us root of bootloader or just the same as Bin4ry & co provide?
Successfully rooted a Rogers Xperia X10a running the standard Rogers R2BA020 firmware from SEUS. Nice.

Nothing to do with the bootloader just an easier way of getting root.
@chai_archer, Yes the X10 mini exploit used on X10. Works fine. Just gives root, doesn't affect the boot loader in anyway.
Someone already with R2BA026 please try this exploit
tested on R2BA026 Generic from SEUS, works ! and you get Creatouch.
Wohoo nice! Will finally install 26 in the morning
Titanium gave me a busybox error. It offered me an alternate version which fixed the issue. Anyone else?

Did you give adb shell permission through the Superuser popup request?
Boom - just used Omnius to go back to Generic UK R1FA16, then used SEUS to get to R2BA026. Then I rooted it, no problems Fantastic!

You could have just used the decrypted files for 026 on the 1st page of the decrypted thread instead of flashing it twice lol

[Q] [APP] Problem z4root ??? Please help me.

Hello everyone,
this is my first post. I have a galaxy 3 eclair 2.1 Update1. I did the root with z4root and I acquired the privilege to administrator. However, the app and link2sd sd Increasing do not work. The latter says that "can not access the file". I also installed root and check tells me I have the privileged. What's wrong? z4root working properly? Please help me. Thanks.

SK17i: upgrade to 4.0.2.A.0.58 before or after rooting?

Hi,
I'm currently running 4.0.A.2.335 on my Mini Pro,
I've been getting the message to update to .58 for a couple months now, but was waiting to update because I wasn't sure if I was still going to be able to root.
So simple question: update before root or after?
Grtz!
Its not important, important not to use internal wi-fi updater when bootloader unlocked. in any case you must get root after every update, because all data will be removed

You cant update your phone to .58 if your phone currently rooted. You need to unroot first then update then reroot back.
So the answer is update first, then root

That's safe.
For my own information: do you have an AZERTY SK17i, and if so, would you please do me a favour and post your /system/build.prop (after rooting of course, can't access it otherwise) here or in my thread?
I'm looking for the 'generic Belgium' CDA code Currently running a french one but it came with some very irrelevant apps and I have another issue with it.

Nothing has been changed yet (phone is not rooted and hasn't been flashed yet). Stock can also mean, 'running SE firmware' as opposed to a custom ROM, regardless how the SE firmware was installed.

Reading comprehension grade: not good.
OP was asking for a root method that DOES NOT require a PC. Both of these require a PC.

[Q] Root Sony Xperia Z Tablet - Android 4.3

Hi all,
I have Sony Xperia Z Tablet which I want to gain root access for.
Device details:
Model number: SGP311
16GB
Android 4.3
Build Number: 10.4.B.0.577
Not sure if relevant, but the tablet was bought in USA.
I'm pretty much a newbe here, so I would like, if possible, to get a link for a simple tutorial how to root my device.
10'x!
If only there was a search button...

Hi Felimenta97,
Thanks for your reply.
I have seen the post you've linked here before I've posted my question (I definitely know how to use the search option ) but its seemed somewhat complicated/Indirect way compare to the simple ways of rooting I'm used to from my 2 other devices (SGS3, Nexus 4)
Is there any simpler/straightforward way?
Thanks in advance!

Nope. There is no current exploit in 4.3 Sony firmware. So, you either unlock your bootloader, or do that process.
Wait till 4.4!
If I was you, I'd wait till KitKat upgrade comes out! after that I'd root my tablet

I tried with VROOT, but seems like there's no update yet. Was researching about 4.3 root methods, there a few, most of them you have to go back to 4.2 and then upgrade, but a direct root, no, I haven't found one yet :good:
