My girlfriend is thinking of getting the Moto Defy when it comes out but loves Swype and the Samsung Keyboard. I know she will be able to download Swype but would an APK of the Sammy install?
There are much better options out there, has she tried better keyboard or anything else really? Idk about the port.

Why would you want to install the Samsung APK instead of just downloading Swype?

Ive been trying this for a while and i was wondering if somebody may be able to help i wanted to port the touch wiz mms.apk and phone.apk to ICS just for the fact that i like the layout and look of them. i tried to push them with root explorer and no luck and also just doing a straight up install and still a no go any help would be appreciated.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe you have to have touchwiz framework for them to work.
Most of the samsung specific apk only work with the touchwiz framework so your kinda out of luck for now util the sgs2's update gets ported in the future

He said stock android, not swype.. And swype being the "best" is all opinion. I cant stand swype. To me swiftkey 3 is the best
You can (with no root) just sideload the .apk of the android keyboard as well.
LatinIME.apk is the file.

Is there an apk or installer of some kind to get the international keyboard? I'd love to use the stock keyboard but need that auto correct...
I've seen a few links for it around here, but I've had issues with it not being able to keep up with my typing. Or maybe the reverse of that... As I'm typing, it tries to autocorrect to a word when I'm not yet finished typing...
I don't have the file anymore though or I would upload
what is this stock keyboard as I've heard much about it and want to know whether it has been developed for the Samsung mobiles only or for others ones as well..

You can search in play store. There are so many custom keyboards with emo. Or if you want same like u saw in s4 mini you can download its rom and extract it or use adb and pull the apk if you or your friend got the device.

Samsung keyboard does not work, the application closes. So I threw xperia T and is the best.
