Yes it works! But sometimes you might get an error saying installation failure, all you need to do in unmount your SD card from android settings, install the application, and mount SD card again, as easy as that!

thanx for allanswers
u convinced me so im gonna try

Hey, I am n00b and a owner of Tmobile USA HD2. I would like to install android too, let me know what exact steps u will take . there are so many roms out there, i might as well follow some one.

welcome to xda.
1- putting a title like "need help" doesn't in fact, help. please be more specific.
2- appbrain is an android app. so, need to install android to get it to work. there is an entire android on the hd2 section. check it out.
cheers.

The easiest way to do this is to try one of the Android SD builds, all you do is download the build and copy it to your SD, then you run CLRCAD.exe and haret.exe which takes you into android. Then simply access the market, download and install, th whole process will take you less than 30 mins.
A good fast build to start with:

[Q] Android on a U5i

Is it possible? I have a friend who has a U5i and I don't know what got into SE's mind but they put S60 on there. It sucks. Is there anyway to put Android onto it? It's in the same series as the mini pro right? it's all U-something.

yes its vivaz, well its possible, but its very hard to do, you have to understand symbian system
Wrong branch =\ it's x8 topics

Isn't there a way to like format the system and throw a whole new one on? I suppose there's something like recovery on Symbian too right?

Like people have said its not that easy, as vivaz is not android platform its not just as simple as flashing an android Rom, drivers would have to be made, the boot sequence in vivaz would have to be heavily modified, its impractical to do this. The only other way would be to make an emulator for symbian like they did for windows mobile, even then unless the device is high specs the lag is crazy.

no, its not that simple. well, i already see a Linux phone such as Motorola A1200, it can be upgraded to Android, but its because that phone is using linux, and basically, Android is linux modification. Even though its like that, also its not simple to put Android to linux phone, as you have to make the driver for that device to work on android, then changing the boot sequence. Its the same to vivaz, the modification is very hard, cause you have to change the boot sequence, not as easy as installing linux after you install a windows on a PC.
Did anything change till day ? =)
I would like to have android on my u5i =)
This must be moved to q&a

Those 168mb represent the internal storage, not the external one (SD-card).

Sorry then...
Yes, your free internal memory is normal, cheap phones have very small storage space. You can root and use a root uninstaller to delete system apps you don't use in order to free more space.

That is where all the apps installed to SD (the native Froyo way) go. PC Suite can be downloaded from their web (the application is horrible, BTW) and no, system applications are not installed there at all.
Ok...so wat are the changes or advantages of 10e over 10c???& how to start with using market place???

By the way you keep asking stuff, its seems like either you're a lazy guy, or your search function does not work. You can find out about such trivial things like using Android Market or finding your apps and games yourself! All of these questions have already been asked before.
BTW a nice website, try it out,

[Q] How to get the Updated Market???

Hi people!! yesterday I had to reflash the minicm7 rom (2.1.9) again because I decided to partition my sd card and as soon as I had to format it I thought it would be better to do all the process from the beginning...
The fact is that always I have flashed this roms, market starts downloading the first apps (facebook, youtube...) in the previous version... But when all the first apps are installed, if I try to open the market again its the updated version automatically...
However this time not... I dont know what I did wrong... When I open market its the previous version which has less option than the new one (if you can remember this old one )
Does anyone know how can I upgrade my market without doing the whole process again, because its boring to restore all my settings and my apps with TB...
Thx to anyone who can help!!
Please have a look to the attach pic to see what I mean
Market..
Have fun.

go to play store. download "Titanium Backup" - here you can uninstall system apps. BEWARE ON WHAT YOU REMOVE. do a research first of the apps that can be removed.
apps to sd - download Link2SD from playstore.

Better and less expensive way: Use a root file explorer and simply delete the bloatware from /system/app. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU DELETE.
and use an app2sd script if you want to move apks to your SD. This will require a partitioned SD card. I recommend (if you don't already have one) investing in a class 10 SD for faster read/write speeds. app2sd scripts slow down your phone. A higher class SD would fix that issue.
1 question more
After rooted can I install the apps that not supported by my device,
No its not possible to install apps that are not supported on your device.
As some apps depends upon your hardware including processor ,gpu and other configs..
Press Thanks If It Helped.

Instead of installing a whole new rom consider creating a layer of apps to get iOS look. These include installing a new launcher, lockscreen app, music player app etc. Do a g search for a more comprehesive list.
i think no one wants to share their expertise here...
