Hello
I've installed Bionix 1.7 Rom on my vibrant.
I've restored backups using Titanium Backup, but for some reason it cannot install the old software and widgets that were on the original rom, like accuweather clock widget, and audio-postcard and etc.
I couldn't either find them on the market or my-market.
is there a way to download them from a different place and install them?
Thanks
Rami

Recently, I installed Bionix1.3 w/Kingklicks OC,UV kernel. I went back to Titanium and installed all the backups I made with the exception of Sims 3. When I restore in TB, it will go through the iteration but it does not install. Any idea how I can get the game back on.
Thanks
Unfortunately Titanium Backup doesn't properly backup the built-in apps from the Vibrant. Your Sims 3 backup won't be usable. The only way to restore it is to reload the stock firmware that has it preinstalled, and then manually remove what you don't want.
I'm not even sure the downloaded firmware contains the sim game. Its stored on the data_tmo partition so if you've repartitioned it might be gone. The icon on the home screen is just a launcher to that partition where the apk is located. Titanium Backup doesn't restore rom system apps only their data.
Thanks
I kind of figured that with TB but was not certain. My daughter loves that game and that is one of the reason I wanted that on the phone. May be I will revert to stock just get that and manually move it. I have a nandroid backup which should install the game. Can i use nandroid on the Bionix 1.3 ROM?
Heres a link to the actual apk of Sims 3, both the launcher and this are required for the game to work of course.

Thanks Genesis 1791 for the link. I was able to install the game.

I have the .apk but need to know how to reinstall the launcher? Can it be done on a deodexed rom?
I was able to reinstall it to my stock build (made the mistake or formatting that partition), and got it working there.
I tried searching for an answer but couldn't find anything.
When i go to the downloads section in my market only apps i have recently downloaded or paid for appear. Not all the apps i have on my phone.
I recently softbricked my phone going from bionix 4.2 with the ul kernel to bionix v5 beta. I was also one of the unlucky few who had my internal sd wiped when i flashed 4.2 with the UL Kernel. I odined back to JFD and then flashed Bionix 5. I logged in to my google account before and opened the market before i restored any apps from titanium backup. I have tried clearing the cache from the market, tried clearing all data and cache from phone through clockwork, and tried flashing back to 4.2 stock kernel.
It doesnt even recognize apps that came installed like gmail or maps or youtube. only apps i downloaded or have purchased. Does anyone know what could be wrong or what i could do to get the market to recognize my apps?
Downloads, by definition, only contains your downloaded apps. The pre-installed apps don't reside there, unless they've been updated....

Well yes I understand this, but every other rom I have used before the soft brick, would show all of the apps that I restored with titanium backup as downloaded in the market.

currently im using DJ05 and have the super red evolution theme from nijitsu.
I've been having a few issues lately, one being that swype no longer works and for the life of me i can't get the new beta installed. I've tried wiping the old swype data with tibu and then deleted it, and used root explorer to remove any traces of SWYPE left that were found, i do a reboot and i still can't install the swype beta. it just goes to install and says DID NOT INSTALL.
i figured i might as well upgrade to EB01 now and hopefully the issue will be resolved after upgrading.
questions are:
i have the green version of CWM, do i NEED the red version to upgrade? if so, where can i find a working link for that version? i've tried searching all over this board and they all point back to the link that is down.
2) do i HAVE to do a complete battery wipe? i have tons of apps and stuff i want to keep. Can i use tibu to completely back those up, so after i wipe clean and install the new rom, i can just restore those apps and keep all the settings and saved games?
Sorry, these are pretty noobish questions. Thanks for all the help!
Some help
I'm still kinda new to the process, but...
Here's Adrenylyne's CWM Red. Dunno if you need it to flash EB01

As far as the back-up goes you should be able to run a Nandroid back-up from Recovery boot. That combined with an app back-up with your app-manager should cover everything.
Higher-ups plz correct nething I got wrong...kthnxbai
okay, will i need the pro version of titanium backup? or will the free version work?
i just want to make sure all my contacts are backed up, my text messages, and all my apps i downloaded and paid for.. i have the free version of titanium backup, and i hit BACKUP on all of those. I just want to make sure once i wipe everything and install fresh, i can download titanium backup and just restore them with the free version
Run backup assistant for contacts, or if you have them saved via google... not sure about the titanium thing, never used it. Easiest way to get to eb01 is the odin all in one package, does all the wiping for you and there are several versions to choose from. Check development section on droidforums

Hi, I would like to know if there is any way that when i flash a new rom to restore my home screens to the way that they were? I am under the impression that CWN backup backs up everything even the rom so i'm afraid to use that and titanium wont restore my home screens.
Use a different launcher like ADW or launcher Pro, they will let you save homescreen settings. If you like Touchwiz, there is a hacked 4.5 version floating around, I think it is on the I9000 threads.
Hey all,
I'm interested in checking out the CM9 Kang that's going around in the threads, but I just recently updated all my folders in ADW Launcher EX. Is there a way to save the folders so when I flash the kang, I can have the folders with the apps in them re-populate? This would also help so I can flash back to Galaxy Task, etc. I have Titanium Backup but I'm not sure if it can save the folders.
Yeah, I know I could just re-do the folders, but I'm lazy and it takes a while when you have 200 apps
Thanks!
ADW Launcher EX can backup and restore your settings and the desktop configuration: [ADWSettings > Backup and restore], but if you're using Titanium Backup, restoring the data will have the same effect.
I have a problem restoring widgets from other apps in ADW via the desktop configuration backup or Titanium Backup (widget not found) every time a do a full wipe and flash a ROM, but the folders (with apps) inside the dock are restored without a problem.
I suppose that if your folders are in the desktop there won't be a problem at the moment you restore your configuration. Just remember that the icons of every app inside the folders will appear after you restore/reinstall the apps (for some, maybe after a reboot)
+1 for titanium backup. Proof that you own that should almost be a prerequisite to reading the Dev forum here. Imagine how much heartache would be saved if you needed to provide proof that you'd done a recent backup before reading any of the ROM threads!....
