boot animation on froyo - Streak 5 Themes and Apps

Hi all i just want to know how to change the boot animation on froyo.
I saw the path is /system/media/bootanimation.zip
So what file do i need?

Just replace that whole zip file with any one you want with root explorer and reboot

I did that with nexus one bios boot animation, but it doors not show right chopped from two sides.

[Q] Droid 2 Boot Animation on Samsung Vibrant: Will it Work?

Hello, i am trying to push a boot animation ripped from a droid 2, however i was wondering if the screens resolution calls for any modifications to the animation, also if the animation fails to load will it simply display a blank screen until it goes to the lockscreen or will the phone refuse to boot, thanks for reading/replying to this.
The resolution shouldnt matter, most likely the image isnt the whole size of the screen (this was the case when i had a droid 1).
If your image fails it will just show nothing and boot normally.
im not a pro, but this is what happened when i was changing mine on the droid. Right now however, i do not think that we are able to easily modify the boot screen. If we are, please let me know how, i miss Andy peeing on an apple!
Look for the threads. There is a thread to change boot up and shut down screens AND sounds. Yo are gonna need two files and name them
bootsamsung.qmg
bootsamsungloop.qmg
They are in /system/media
First backup up and delete original files
To change a boot logo all you need to do is "adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local" in a windows cmd prompt, but must cd to your android_sdk tools folder first (requires android sdk to be installed), you also have to have your device plugged in with usb debugging enabled. On some phones (like the vibrant), it is more complex to change the boot animation though.

R2D2 Boot animation adjusted for Dell Streak

After looking for a while in different forums, I finally was able to get R2D2 as my boot animation for my Streak. I adjusted the images to be in landscape position to fit nicely on the 5" screen. To install it, download and unzip the file, place the file on your SD card, and reboot into recovery to install it from zip file. I am not sure if the Dell Streak can play audio during boot up or not, but I was not able to get it working.
Thanks goes out to Team Black Hat for the original file.
R2D2 is now on my streak
I did have problem where I couldnt get it to flash, so instead I renamed the r2d2-bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip and put it in system/media folder.
I use the StreakMod Recovey instead of clockwork so that might have been the reason I couldnt get it to flash.
Sorry I forgot to mention that I use clockworkmod to flash it. Thanks for the alternative way to get it on there.

Is this a one off or is there more in the pipeline

I think you can also put it in data/local..Seems to work on my G2..Your way of putting it in system/media also worked for me..Seems easier to do if you have root explorer. Any link with screenshots?
Im sure that I will be making more boot animations. I just need to find the time to do them.

Data/local works fine for bootanimation.zip
nice
the sound is not possible since there is no service playing it in dell streak os
Another great thing about this animation it makes waiting while booting seem less stressful after installing a new taskbar, since the wait is using longer than on a normal boot.
ADB command is:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
But, I forgot that stupid 30pin sync cable so I wanted to do it from the phone using terminal. Still had to download .7z file using computer and renamed it to bootanimation.zip and copied to my phone wirelessly using dropbox. (then longpress file name in dropbox and "download")
Terminal command:
su
cp /sdcard/dropbox/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
reboot

Big props on this boot animation! It looks absolutely fantastic!

I don't recall any threads on this, but the kernels like overstock and tigers blood do... Perhaps pm them?
THERE is a way.
You can change it to whatever picture you want.
Its a bit advanced but theres a program for it.
I'll give when I get back from school.
Getting late
Thanks can't wait to try

There are 2 splash images. One hard coded into the kernel (only changeable through kernel source then recompiling the kernel) and the splash image located in the param.lfs partition.
So changing the param.lfs splash image won't get rid of the kernel splash image.

Change it to what? Do you want to make your own splash screen or just use one from another ROM that you liked?
If its using one from another ROM...its easy....
Download RootExplorer.
Open it and go to the "system" folder. then look for the "/media" file (/system/media) then look for the file called "bootanimation.zip"
That is the boot splash screen file.
If you want one from another ROM.
USE YOUR COMPUTER and open the ROM.zip file you want (bionix1.3.1.zip or sweethoney25.zip) could be any ROM.
Now navigate to the same folder "system\media" and copy the "bootanimation.zip" to you desktop.
Now plug your phone to your computer and copy the bootanimation.zip to your phone....anywhere is good just remember where you put it.
Now unplug your phone and open RootExplorer. Find the "bootanimation.zip" you just copied to your phone and long press it.
Choose the "move" option.
Now go to the "system\media" folder....long press the bootanimation.zip in that folder and choose "delete"...now paste the other bootanimation.zip into this folder.
Reboot!
Viola...you have your bootanimation.
If you want the stock Galaxy bootanimation...just use Rootexplorer and delete the file "bootanimation.zip" from the "system\media" folder and reboot! (this option only works if you see two different files in the folder named samsungboot.qmg and samsungbootloop.qmg...as those are the files for stock bootanimation)
::if this helps feel free to thank me""
Not the bootanimation the splash image at the begining I know how to change bootanimations. The image before the bootanimation. On htc phones you can change that along with the boot

Take the bootanimation.zip file of the animation you want and place it in /system/media/
Can you point us to some nice boot screens!
If you have Root Explorer then this is one way of doing it:

Boot animation is not splash screen .
Some modifies splash screens in themes and or custom roms try google search .
jje
Guys Splash Screen is completely diff from boot animation!!Splash Screen is like boot logo
it is located in /mnt/.lfs
just rename the one you like to logo.jpg. Some custom ROMs only renames the original boot logo to l0go.jpg so just rename it to logo.jpg and remove the current logo.jpg. Sometimes it doesn't work when you just rename it where you found it. What i did was copy the original logo.jpg (the stock) to anywhere (example /system or /sdcard) and rename it there and move it back to /mnt/.lfs..
