How do I remove Bionix 1.7 and its system theme changes? Its not that I hate it but i'm selling the phone and he wanted it clean. I tried "google"ing it but to luck.
Load the original firmware back onto it:

For clarity's sake...
Post #2 links to the "out-of-box" original firmware where the GPS is mostly non functional and has other issues, etc.
Post #3 links to the Oct 7 OTA update that improves the GPS and many other things.
Things are not all roses with either version but I'd hope for the JI6 update to already be the phone if I was buying it myself.
Either way requires use of ODIN for flashing a ROM, which one will you choose?

How do you create a flash-able/Odin of my New T959UVJI6 Samsung Vibrant?
This will be my back up (FLASH /ODIN), because there will be some Fresh ROMS that will be released soon, and I want to make the Jump, but I have to at least have a back up.
Knowing how to create this image (or what ever it is called) will help me share more to this community, I would be more than happy to share this image here, and to test more roms, apks, kernals, or patches & updates knowing that I am free to Q.A. the releases if I had a stock image that I could flash or odin at the end of the week or at the end of the test cycle.
Model Number T959UVJI6
Firmware Version: 2.1-update1
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number: ECLAIR.UVJI6
(I have searched numerous times and the search is not available each time)
I don't think it's possible to create a custom ODIN complete flashable backup yet. It's been worked on but so far not successful -
Here's the original thread:

There are stock images for both 2.1 and 2.2 that can be flashed via ODIN, though. All are easily found in the stickies.

Hay Shrivel,
Thanks for the reply, I get the stickies - they are invaluable to the members here.
But most of the stuff out there are at best still in beta, buggy and were configured for or from another user and still needs tweaking.
My phone is like a virgin, and I really don't want to flash her because once you flash, it can become extremely challenging to back to stock.
There is a lot to say about stock, yea it's slow and not as robust, but it is free of bugs.

Getting back to stock is really easy - you just have to make sure you can get into download mode reliably and you have the proper drivers on your PC. It's getting back to the current state of your phone that's the tough part (well, not THAT tough, if you know the steps. But not yet possible in a single step.)
Hey guys. I would really love someone to shed some light on what's going on here.
My firmware version is 2.2.1
Baseband version is DL09
Kernel version 2.6.32.9
And build number is DL30
I'm running a super clean ROM I believe, but this week I would like to upgrade to the latest (fully stable) releases. I know there's a new modem and new kernels out. Can someone with experience point me in the right direction to get my phone up to the latest and greatest!
Thank you so much!
So I'm kinda new to the whole process, been hacking my fascinate for a month or two, but i'll share what i know, please anyone correct me if i'm wrong on any of this
*note* i assume as you say your an intermediate noob you should know how to flash kernels and roms with out any problems if not check out this tutorial:http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/05/08/complete-guide-how-to-flash-a-custom-rom-to-your-android-phone-with-rom-manager-full-backup-restore/
As far as i can tell EB01 is the best kernel there is right now, most if not all of the CURRENT rom versions are at least using part of it, most are in conjunction with EB16 and EA15. so updating to that would be my first suggestion.
here is a voodoo version of EB01:http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19137626/Android/eb01_voodoo.zip
next i have had good luck with Super Clean 2.9.1, here is some info about it:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11900140#post11900140
as for finding a rom that fits your style and level the knoly way to know is to try them out. just make sure you backup a stable rom you know works before going on that adventure
good luck and i hope this helps
EDIT: go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=897889. It will give you a more in depth explanation of everything you asked about and need/should know
Thanks for your reply man. EB01 seems to be the kernel for me. What about modem upgrading?
modem upgrading
a quote from the beginner's guide:
These updates also include a radio, which is the phone's programming that it uses to communicate with your cell service. Those are flashed via Odin, the same way you installed clockworkmod.
The Froyo EB01 update has it's own radio that needs to be flashed via Odin.
The version of your radio can also be verified in Settings > About Phone > "Baseband version"

my understanding is that when you flash the new EB01 release of Froyo it will upgrade that as well...i was looking for the original post here on xda but couldn't find it if i can find my file i will post it here for you to dl.
This is a very complete guide on how to get up to speed with EBO1.

It has links to kernals, radios (modems), and ROMS.
You may have to do some digging for things like red CWR and voodoo kernals. But this will take you step my step in updating your fascinate.
After playing with the new Cyanagen mod for a few days I had a few problems and had to bring it back to stock from a great tutorial I found and have used 2 times.
I'm now at:
Firmware 2.2.1
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9
Build: EB01
I've looked around and really like the MIUI rom put out by Espresso but there just seems to be a few quirks it needs to iron out and I'm thinking of putting on
[Rom]{10.18.11}[EI20] TSM Resurrection 1.0 (touchwiz4/tsm parts)
Looks great. But reading thru it a bit it says:
1. Must be on EH09 or EI20 already (can flash over EH09 with a data/wipe)
How do I go about prepping my phone to get it *THAT* ready for this rom?
I've already rooted again and installed CWM-ALL on the phone.
All the OTA updates have been done. I remember reading somewhere that EB01 wasn't an official build so some OTA updates would not come down for it.
So much help here, it's insane. I love you peoples.

Flash this in Odin:
http://www.mediafire.com/?c37loxth85zn2ti
Use the pit file to repartition (check repartition in Odin).
After that is on your phone you can flash TSM resurrection through CWM.
Next time ask your question in the Q&A section of this forum.
Thanks.
I'll make sure my next question goes into the Q&A forum. Darn, really thought I was in the right place. My bad.
P.S. Keep up the good work, man. This is awesome. BEST place for help and information.
I'm fairly new when it comes to flashing ROM's and what not, and in October I made the mistake of flashing to the "official" release of 2.3.3 for a Rogers captivate (not through KIES). I wish to go back to 2.2, so that I can use 2.2 ROM's. I am, however, sceptical of the procedure of flashing back. Could anyone here direct me to a video, a tutorial, or tell me how exactly I would do this?
Thank you,
Balls.
I search an original stock firmware KB5, possible with all T-Mobile applications, generally clean and without any changes. I have problems with Kies, so the need KB5 for Odin or CWM. Does anyone have any?

He has a working link up for a CWR version on mediafire, but you better get while the getting is good. Those links drop fast, and there are a lot of dead ones floating around.
Nice thing about that flash is that it's rooted and has busybox (for Titanium Backup) already in it. It's worked as a nice baseline for me at times.
