[Q] HD2 doesn't boot to homescreen - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was running Android hd desire build and my phone just switched off because the battery was dead. So I recharged it and tried to turn on, but I had white screen. I tried to hard reset but didn't work so i took out my card and memory card and tried to hardreset it and it booted to windows mobile loading (screen with progress bar). But unfortunately if the progress bar hits half of it, my phone just switches off.. What should I do? I've got warranty, I am paying 7 pounds per month for it, so I guess I should go to T-Mobile and give it to them? Long time ago I flashed new radio 2.08, but everything was fine.
Thanks.

Weird Tri-Color Screen Appearances

hi All
I got this brand new at&t 8525 two weeks ago with new at&t ROM(2.15.502.3) & Radio(1.40.30.00) pre-installed. It was working fine up untill 2 days ago when it froze(froze many times in 2 weeks but re-started normally). Power button didn't work, took battery out & inserted back(was plugged in). Tri-Color screen appeared right away. Again took the battery out & put it back, same Tri-Color screen appeared even without pressing power button.
Got scared & took battery out 3rd time & left it out for 5 minutes, inserted back, turned on & it worked just fine for 2 days.
Just now after Netfront 3.3 installation when it restarted, Tri-Color screen appeared again. Took battery out for few minutes & its working just fine again(posting this from same 8525).
I have NOT done any ROM / Radio / OS upgrades. Though I have installed TCPMP, Opera 8.65b, Skype etc on 2GB storage card.
Used Cingular 8525 for six months & never saw tri-color screen.
Any ideas / suggestions PLEASE...! Many, many thanx in advance
Try reflashing the ROM
You will need to download the ROM from HTC's website and see if this helps out. If so, add your after market apps back one-by-one and monitor the results. http://www.htcamerica.net/support/d...R_WWE_2.15.502.3_6275_1.40.30.00_108_Ship.exe
The Tri-color screen is the boot loader area. Usually not a good thing to see unless you are in the process of flashing your ROM
i had this happen once on one of the 8525's i had.. and you might want to consider sending that thing in for warranty repair... Mine did that a couple of times right before it froze permanently...
I would definitely try flashing the official rom, i would not use a cooked rom until this issue is sorted out just in case you have to send it back under warranty!
Thanx Guys
Many, many thanx guys for your insight...I'll contact at&t to get it replaced

My HD2 is dead ... Can someone give me some ideas?

I bought my HD2 about 3 weeks ago. Used from Australia (I live in NZ where the phone is not available yet). I got it from eBay, it's supposed to be 2 months old.
Phone worked fine, installed a cooked rom and everything was going great until a few nights ago.
I was playing badminton and had the phone in my pocket. When I took it out, it wasn't responding. So I pulled the battery out and when I tried to turn it back on, all I got was a white screen. I don't know if having the phone in my pocket while playing badminton had anything to do with it, but I didn't fall or anything.
Since then I've tried turning on hundreds of times. Most of the time it's a white screen with a slight yellow tint. Sometimes it's a normal white. Some other times it's a white screen with 'HTC', but in each case, it doesn't go beyond the white screen.
Have tried doing a hard reset, and it says it's successful, but when it reboots, same thing.
Have got it into the mode where you can flash the ROM (hold vol down when turning on), and when I tried to flash the cooked rom, it gets to 1% then resets. When I tried to flash an HTC rom, it just sits at 0% and eventually Windows gives me an error.
Have talked to HTC, and it seems I have to send my phone back to Australia to get fixed. But the service centers in Australia need a receipt/proof of purchase in order to fix it under warranty.
So it looks like I can't get it repaired without paying for it myself.
Does anyone have any ideas what's going on? Or can suggest something else I can try to bring it back to life?
Thanks

Major issue, phone turning off, please help

hey guys
had an issue today, traded a desire for a HD2 as i really wanted to go back to winmo (crazy most people will think)
Now when i revieved the phone i turned it on everything seemed fine for about 20 mins (note i never used the phone apart from make a call to test)
by the time i had left after a good chat, i checked the phone back at work at it was turned off, i plugged in the charger, the little notification came on and i left it to charge, an hour later after a meeting i turned on the phone, it booted into windows and then after loading sense it crashed and restarted then got stuck on the splash screen
numerous battery pulls and the same issues, gets into windows doesnt load sense, freezes and blank screen, when i battery pull and turn on 90% stuck on the splash screen
installed a rom from the memory card (stock) worked for 10 minutes same issue
any ideas?
do you reckon iv been given a knackered phone?
anyone? iv managed to get it to boot, but after around 10 minutes, it just turns itself back on, pauses at the htc screen, then reboots again and gets into windows, then 10 minutes later does the same, i flashed to the most recent wwe firmware from htc, after it managed to stay on long enough to sync to the pc
im stumped

i think its a dud phone
please guys any ideas im all out
Had similar issue with my phone, random reboots after phone was working for a bit, stuck on bootscreen without displaying radio, partitions etc.
Called HTC, was a hardware issue obviously, the sent me a new replacement phon (warranty).
if you have HSPL
1. Task 29
2. when stuck in blank screen - pull battery out
3. bootloader
4. connect back to pc via usb
5. flash any stock ROM (not the latest 3.14 as it will change your HSPL)

Phone stuck in Boot, more details inside.

My phone was working perfectly fine until yesterday, when I went to the pool and carelessly left my mobile phone near some humid/wet clothes. When I got my hands on it, it was /working/ or so it seemed yet I couldn't put the SIM code to unlock it. It then restarted and got stuck in a bootloop.
I removed the battery, checked the Water Damage stickies and everything seemed fine, but still wasn't working. Today I got home and dropped my phone in rice (I heard it's good in order to absord water and such) and after a while I removed it, put the baterry in but now it just gets stuck on the boot screen.
I tried going into recovery, was able to, but can't surf through the menu because volume keys don't seem to work.
Any ideas what is wrong with my device? Any suggestion for a new phone if my phone doesn't come back from the dead?
Technical data?:
Unlocked with HTCDev Unlocker, rooted, and flashed CM7.1 with no problems before.
Two year old device.
Bump and extra info about my problem.
I left my phone discharging it's battery and seeing if anything worked okay. This morning it was off and wouldn't turn on, so I put it to charge.
After some hours, I got it's LED green so I tried and turned it on. It did, but still didn't pass the Cyanogenmod bootscreen, so I tried going into Recovery, and it worked! Now I'll try to tinker it, and see if I can get it fixed.
So, if anyone out there has the same problem I have, they should try killing their battery and charging it to 100%. It seems the battery malfunctioned or is almost dead, but a man can wish and see if he can repair his gadgets.
Glad to hear it's fixed! I'm sure many others would feel the same way about your recommended remedy!
Sent from my Nexus 7 on the XDA app. GO CANADA GO
Thanks!
When I had access to the Recovery I backed up my phone and wiped dalvik and cache, then re-installed Cyanogenmod (now upgraded from 7.1 to 7.2) but I'm currently considering switching to another ROM, like an ICS'
Everything works fine, except the SIM, but I believe that's a problem on my own end (network not working)

[Q] HOX+ switching off continously

My HOX+ is less than two years old. My phone used to get incredibly hot for the past 6 months. So, I uninstalled most apps and disabled many; keeping only the necessary one enabled. For the past two weeks my phone would automatically get switched off when I am using Snapchat. I thought of factory resetting it but was heavily occupied by my studies. Yesterday my phone finally got switched off and refused to get switched on. It only switched on when I put it on charge (It was already charged, so it wasn't like battery had drained out). I switched it on and disabled almost all but half a dozen apps. But again after few minutes it got switched off.
Whenever I am trying to switch it on, it just boots till HTC screen not even the HTC One screen and gets switched off. Sometimes it boots properly showing the homescreen. I backed up all my data and went for a soft reset. It did take place after few attempts. But the problem persisted so I went for a hard reset using the boot menu. But the moment I select FACTORY RESET it just shows the HTC screen with the slider (yellow) on the top right corner filling up and then again shuts down.
Please help. I have never rooted my phone or used any apk outside Google Play store.
Are you sure that your battery isn't going empty? After 2 years this may happen to a battery (rarely, but can).
