Hello USers,
I have upgraded to the new European Rom for the HD2,
There is a newer version of .net framework installed on the device which isnt compatiable with the Icon changer program for the hd2.
I attempt to install the older version it tells me to remove the newer one first but its not in the remove program list.
I hate the stock icons and what not and would like the newer ones on my device.
Thanks
I had the same problem with an ap from work, you need to unpack the .cab and remove the .net install section from the install script and then repack it.
I used google and search to figure out what i had to do and how, good luck mate

Hi there- I inherited an SX56- but can't seem to download new proggies to it! Not too sure if it has PC2002 or 2003, but i can tell you it has:
ROM Version 3.17.03 ENG
Radio: A.20.10
I tried using installing ActiveSync- but I guess I need a serial key or something.
Since I couldn't find a post on how to build with current updates- can someone reply or re-direct to a post that lists what I need to make this baby current so I can install some of the cool utilities for this PDA?
Thanks again!
PS: Im running XDA-developers SW on this baby!
activesync can be freely downloaded from ms's site
and require not serial
if it ask for code when you connect your pda it's the pda's
user set code it wants
ok- got the latest active sync- 4.5 build. I still can't seem to successfully run .msi files or .cab files to and from the sx56. I tried dropping the .cab files to different directories- since its probably looking for PPC2002 files as well to run the program. I also downloaded CNET framework v2.0.2...still can't seem to install programs onto the pocket PC
any ideas?
Cheers!
i think msi files was ment to run from the pc not the ppc
Hi
I have a list of my favourite apps that I like to expand and delete from as new apps come out and old ones get replaced.
I have done a search and can find a nice amount of info on cooking a ROM based on an open ROM, such as Gullums. But I dont want to do that really. I'd like to keep my Apps seperate from my OS.
Is there a way of packaging a bunch of CAB files into just the one?
I've done something similar with EXE on my PC, so in theory its possible, oui? non?
cheers all.
Well I had a bit of a better dig around in my Lunchbreak.
I've found this program which creates an executable EXE for a PC desktop install for multiple CABS, easy to use too
http://www.windowsgames.co.uk/PocketSetupCreator.html
but I'd still rather have just one CAB file which I can install from my Prophet.
any other Ideas?
In the program
goto : "builder"
Now click on "add redistribution modules to include". You can select cab, SQL or .net files.
It will include those files to the cab how is created
cheers for the reply, but Im unsure what program you mean?, can you let me in on your riddle.
However...
PocketSetup Creator is very very basic.
I've found a better version which creates compressed PPC EXE files but its $60 to knock that one on the head, I dont need this that badly, for those who are interested its called.
pocketpc Installer
http://www.phelios.net/pocketpcinstaller.html
Any other ideas, Gullum how do you do this for your cooked roms, some of your releases had a 2nd install once the ROM had been updated, with a few roms coming down e.g. Gullum Custom CAB ect.
Sorry, I speak from http://www.aperitto.com/content/view/14/28/ less basic but 29€ (app; 36$US).
Very usefull app, so you can search for cabarc.exe (or enything how is approximtly that) for free and command line cab creator from M$
Hello,
today I updated my telephone and during my reinstall I downloaded a new Office Mobile 6.1 (PPC Edition with One Note Mobile included) to install it. The CAB works wonderfully but I am not able to choose the installation directory, it only starts to install on main memory without asking. My old version (Smartphone Version of Office 6.1 without One Note Mobile) always ask where to install the program.
That is why I want to know how I can change the installation directory of the new Office. (I Want to install it on SD Card)
It is normal that PPC programs do not ask where to install?
P.S I am using the WM 6.1 Pro by Erofich
thats dont a difficult question - just use a search, or try to find another cab
I already searched for antother CAB and I found three different ones but they also do not ask where to install.
Could you post a link for another (working) CAB?
P.S I already used the search to find another CAB. Which keyword sholud I use?

You can use a cab editor (I don't remember the name) to modify any of those cabs to default to storage card. try a search on..."Make cab install on storage card"
Hello All,
First off I want to say I have done a lot of searching in this forum and many others concerning my problem. My problem is trying to switch the TF3D theme from the stock verizon theme to the original black. From what I have read, I have been instructed to dl Diamond TF3D Config Setup, which I did many times. It loads successfully, but when I launch the program it gives me an unexpected error message. Does anybody know what is going on and how I can fix it? Does it have to do with it being a verizon phone; ifso, how can I change my theme?
Thanks.
Hello Noobie
Yea you need to delete the tweaks and it should work. You should also switch your roms. Verison software is horrible-by far the worst. Very slow.
Thanks alot. Its just that one file within the cab right? So I would delete this before putting it on my phone and running it?
Also, I really do want to flash the ROM, but I'm still not sure which one to use. Any recommendations? Are they stable enough at least as much as the stock rom? I just don't want to flash a rom with hella stuff on it that takes up memory and compromises stability and reliability.
Thanks again.
You need to install .Net 3.5 in order for Diamond tweaks to work. Search for .net framework 3.5 and install that first.
i already intstalled 3.5. still did not work. but i have not tried deleting the tweak file. im just not sure if ineed to delet on my computer before i move the cab to my phone and run it.
hi guys can any one till me where can i downmoad the full file of .Net 3.5 ? i mean the 37mb file not the 2.6mb from microsoft website. i have internet only in my phone and i ca't have access to pc with internet. so if anyone can till me where to find the full size .net 3.5 to download i will be thankfull

Using tweaks
I stumbled across this zip file the other day.If u wana use the tweak just replace the tweaks.xml with this one. Im not sure who credit for this file belongs to. But if it is yours or u know whos it is let me know and i will definitely give credit where it's due.
help with themes
So have i been searching around for a while and have not been able to figure out what the hell i'm doing wrong...
i installed DiamondTF3d conf tool, i downloaded some themes (.cab(s)) but i was not able to find them while going through TF3D config. I'm sure it's something simple i'm not dong, any help would be appreciated.

Hi
put your hd2 into active sync mode with windows mobile device center. The net compact framework should be on you desktop computer/laptop. Just run it up (Double click) and follow the on screen instructions. On the HD2 you will see it there asking if you wish to install it to Main or Storage card. Just install to main. it will finish, so just exit by the X button on the top right on the screen. Thats all there is to it.

13. Install Compact Net Framework 3.5 to Make Old Apps Work Again
Some apps you may have used on another phone will not work on the Leo unless you install Compact Net Framework to your phone. Download the cab from the following link and install to Device only - not Storage Card and then reset. http://tinyurl.com/38thahw Also make sure your phone is using the 3.5 as default and not 2.0. Go here: HKLM/Software/Microsoft/.NETCompactFramework. Change the DWORD data of entry 2.0.7045.00 from 1 to 0. Next Change the DWORD data of entry 3.5.7283.00 from 0 to 1 and then reset. This disables 2.0 and enables 3.5. Also some apps need the file NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm. Here is the link to download the file: http://tinyurl.com/35yuc6r Install the NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab to device after you installed NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab and reset.
The above is from First page sticky, Hints and Tweaks the first post..
you will need PHM REGEDIT.
