Anyone know how to add sound to the boot animation? Can it even be done on the Streak? I've tried methods used for other android phones but no luck.
I know not everyone will feel this is a worthwhile mod so any help will be appreciated.

Im using Steve's baseband version of 2.2 froyo (1st one). Ive added a custom animation but think some sound would finish it off.

I've read through tons of threads trying to figure this out.
I'm running rooted OTA 2.2 (froyo) since 4/21/11 and am very happy with the performance so I'm trying not to mess with roms/kernal upgrades.
Is it possible to change my boot animation and sound without replaceing the stock kernal. (if not what kernal should I use?) I've read and read about trying to change or edit the .qmg file but no luck so far.
Also, what should I use or do to hide/remove all the bloat on my applications menu?? If I change my kernal to OTB would I notice any performance diferance from stock 2.2 froyo and would that help my situation?f

You have to have a kernel that supports custom boot animations, and the stock one does not. Adrynalyne has some that work very well, and they can be found in the ROM/Kernel sticky in the developer forum. Most custom kernels will say if they support this feature.
As far as removing bloatware, both uninstaller pro and titanium backup have the ability to remove bloatware that verizon shoveled on us.

I'm sad to say you cant flash custom boot animations on stock, you will need to flash to a ROM that will let you do it. There are a few out there. so happy hunting.

I have to keep sticking external speakers/headset into my g tab and then remove them to get the speakers to work.
Is there a permanent resolution and stay on Vegan 7? Can it be resolved by downgrading to Vegan 5.1?

I don't think there is a permanent solution to this one.
Try disabling any DSP enhancement apps, like DSP Manager in CM7, and install the latest Pershoot kernel.
I have the same problem but only existed in VeganTab ginger Edition. The other rom I get loud static sounds and rom go corrupted. Try different rom until it works.
it seems like any other music player installed other than default music player will cause the no sound on boot for me at least. Tested on Cmod7 and Vegan7

Its a universal script that controls how your rom manages ram. It works well for Ginger bread but after i got it working on ics i dont see any diference.

Been looking around and couldn't find the default sprint boot animation. Although I'm not new to android I am pretty new to boot animations. If someone could pull one from a stock rom and post it that would be great. If this is possible and you don't want to post it telling me where to find it in the stock rom would also help. Thanks in advance.
