I have Bionix 1.8 installed and for some reason I dont have the options to mount and SD card or usb debugging anymore. The options are in the settings but they dont cause the phone to notify. Annoying. Also, I dont seem to have that battery charge screen that use to display if your phone was off and charging. Any ideas?
Cant boot into download mode or get USB debugging to work either.
Sounds like you have a bad flash. Reflash the ROM and try again. I am running Bionix 1.8 and don't have any issues whatsoever.

I have never bricked it before, and I cannot go into download mode... I tried the the Vol up and vol down, didn't work, so I have been using ADB and just ****ed something up....
Now I need to know a way how I can revert back to stock, please and thank you, I will forever owe you one.
EDIT: Okay there is some confusion, to simplify it I will take it step by step:
I replaced an APK file from my system/apps and ever since it has been force closing process.android.acore, so I tried reflashing to stock, it froze while doing so now I have a picture of a caution sign, a phone and a computer coming up on my Vibrant, it will not start up.
It is hardware locked because I have never been able to access download mode via hardware keys(I have always been using ADB).
Is there any way I can reinstall stock? Or is my vibrant now destroyed?
what exactly were you doing when your phone stopped working? "just ****ed something up" makes it hard to pinpoint problems...
I don't know I replaced my phone.apk with another one then ever since then it keeps saying process.android.acore has stopped working. It wouldn't stop showing up so I tried to reflash with Odin to stock but it froze and now it is bricked.
bumping a little bit, I have never bricked it before so I have 0 experience.
What do you mean by froze? On what screen? How far can you get into booting?

Alright let me start over with more detail:
I tried to replace the dialer so I replaced the phone.apk and then process.android.acore kept force closing so then I tried reflashing with stock, during that I don't know what happened but I think my phone froze, so then it shut off and turned back on, I only found a screen with a computer on it... I am assuming it is bricked.... I also know it is hardware locked because I tried going into debug mode with vol up and vol down, how can I unbrick it?
Try moving the stock rom into the phones internal memory via adb. And flash it after a wipe.
I am Also having this same problem
I Flashed my Vibrant through Rom Manager to Froyo 2.2 from eugene373 and sombionix.
After flashing to both ROMS for Froyo I wanted to revert back to 2.1.
I tried to put sombionix 1.3 eclair ROM back on to my phone using clockwork mod.
The flash was not successful it stopped in the middle but the phone came on with a Force close error of an android process.
I tried to reboot through adb reboot recovery with usb debugging enabled.
The phone shut down like it would reboot into recovery mode and now it gets stuck on boot at the samsung vibrant screen.
I tried to use ODIN to flash back to the stock Rom but the phone is recognized in ODIN but will not flash.
ODIN sees the phone but will not get past flash analysis. (Sat for 8 Hours)
I believe this is the definition of bricked. Please Help!!!!!

If there is an answer, which I am not sure that there is, it would be here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782739. You may have already seen it, but if not it gives many different processes to try. Good luck!

Yep, I'm screwed thanks for the help though.
Can you get the phone in download mode?
Did you try this:
Pull battery
hold the volume up and down
reinsert the battery whiles still holding down the volume up n down
plug in usb cord
it should put you back in to DL mode
Open ODIN and unplug phone from PC and plug back in hopefully it will notice it then.
I am not sure if you can get in DL mode and it just wont let you do anything, but if you have already tried this my apologies.

Did you even read the OP? He is HARDWARE LOCKED ie BUTTONS DON'T WORK geeze people learn how to read!
And on topic, if you can't ADB and you are Hardware Locked, you are SOL. Try to get an exchange from T-Mobile since it appears that they regard being Hardware Locked as a defect.
Alright thanks

Hi everybody, here's my problem. I had fushion 1.1 on my vibrant, liked it alot. Then i saw a new 2.2 Obsidian rom, disabled voodoo lag fix and installed it. Couldn't get one click lag fix to work and decided to reboot with odin back to Fushion and now it won't even turn on. can't get adb to even see the device, can't access recovery mode or download mode. Tried the 301k jig fix and that didn't work. But now that i think about it, I remember seeing two different vibrant screen before i bricked the phone. One with I9000 logo and the other the regular vibrant screen. Thanks

Get your phone into download mode, happened to me yesterday.
Remove battery, Connect USB to PC & Phone.
Press and hold both volume buttons and put the battery back in the phone. Flash using ODIN and rejoice
I tried that also and nothing seems to work. thanks.
I had to get new phone once it stopped showing anything. No response to even a charger. I mean nothing at all.
Tmo sent a new phone.

I'm in the same boat. Did you figure it out?
Thanks.
ok so i know how to do things on my vibrant but dont really know exactly how the phone does things (basically im a directions follower) so im going to try to be as precise as possible
my phone has been rooted for a while and ive been experimenting with a bunch of roms. i decided to flash TWs nero v3 w/voodoo and i was pretty sure id stick with that for a while but some of my games started having issues so i decided to flash the newest axura. now something told me that i needed to disable voodoo first and there is usually a voodoo submenu in CW recovery but there wasnt so i figured it was disabled already
so i flashed it and everything was going well untill my screen went blank
now my phone acts like there is no battery in it
ive tried any button combinations with charger in (wall or computer) or out.
no matter what my screen stays blank...plz help
im not exactly in a situation to just buy a new phone.
Unplug the phone from the charger. take your battery out for at least 15 seconds. plug the phone to your computer via usb. while holding both vol+/-, not power, put the battery back in. you should be in download mode.
use odin to flash a stock rom.
this all should work if you have the samsung drivers installed on your comp.
Go to this link it should help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848737&highlight=bricked+phone
btw i followed what both above said and neither worked for me =/
thanx for ur suggestions though
Ive seen alot of these post lately and all were on nerov3 .

Well I guess that your best bet would be modifying the usb charger with resistors. as stated in the link that jewbrad suggested. A similar thing happened to my phone when I tried to go back to stock from nero, but instead of a blank screen, I got a small icon of a pc and phone with a triangle in between. The method that I posted did the trick. Maybe you should try it again and check odin to see if it recognizes your device, even if the phone might look like its off.

Have you tried having odin open on you pc and loaded with eugene's froyo that doesnt brick then with your phone turned off(pull the battery then put it back in) now hold the volume keys up and down at the same time then plug your usb cord that is plugged into your pc into your phone this should get you into downlod mode. If this workes flash it and let odin do its thing after its done running it will reboot and go to a recovery screen then it will try to boot up ounce you see the i9000 screen you can pull the battery again and get it back into download mode the same way you did before and then flash the stock vibrant rom tar file and pit. I dont know if this will work but it cant hurt I know how it is not having your phone working so hope this helps
Same thing happend to me.
Please let me know if you get it fixed.
I was on Nero V3 trying to reflash because GPS didn't work well.
i got in to boot loop so i tried to get back to stock and re-do it,
and this happened.
I took it tmobile and claimed the ota broke it..they sent me a new one
NVM!! link posted by jewbrad had No-Boot phone instruction, and it worked!!!
Oh lucky...I tried that n it failed
i accidentally flashed the dead horse kernal without disabling voodoo. lost all internal memory . now im factory wiped and when i go to download anything it says "sorry, theres not enough space to install this item" any help on how to correct this would be greatly appreciated
clockwork recovery -> disable voodoo to turn voodoo off . on the other hand factory data reset , and last one u didnt press repartition in while in recovery if not ,dont ever just for reference ;p
I have a similar but maybe worse situation . I flashed the same kernel (because I was not aware it was in the ROM nor aware of its effects) I posted that it erased my SD card and someone replied telling me to ODIN back a stock voodoo kernal which I. While booting i heard the voice that tells me about the re-partitioning going on. I think the last one i heard was it trying to mess with the system partition. It sat there for over 25 minutes doing nothing. I gave up on that. Now I cannot flash ANYTHING. I have tried flashing things from Clockwork but it all errors out because of the partitions not being there i assume. I tried using ODIN to flash back a stock rom and that doesn't work either, the phone just reboots and sits at the Vibrant screen forever. PLEASE HELP.
that did the trick thanks a lot!!!!!!!!
Edited .....ahh if you need hyelp i can help you convert your to conver your internal sd back to fat32 because u converted in to ext4 thats why u soft bricked your phone . Tsk tsk
I soft bricked my phone I think. I have samsung vibrant sgh-t959. I flashed a rom over voodoo and its just in a bootloop. I get into recovery and dont know what to do. I cant odin back to stock because my phone isnt in debugging mode. Is there a way to enable debugging mode or a file I can put on my sd to fix this? Please HELP!

You don't need debugging mode, you need download mode. Unplug your USB cable and take out your battery for 5-10 seconds. Put you battery back in and then while holding volume up+down, plug in your USB cable. Keep holding vol up+down until you see the yellow triangle with digger android. Now you are in Download Mode and you can use Odin to flash back to stock JFD.
+1 on his advice
Is there away I can thank you 50xs? Thank you so much
Hey movieaddict is the Hercules better than gs2? I have t mobile too was sad to see that were not getting a sg2. Hercules seems the exact same besides its 1.2 ghz processor. Bigger screen which is cool.

I just got a vibrant from another xda forums user, and the guy restored to stock 2.1 rom but when I plugin a charger or usb it reboots and stays black, I have already used odin 2 times to flash back to stock, still the problem persists, is there a fix?
I can enter download mode btw
thank you

I found this in Google. Don't know if this will help you or not, but about 3/4 of the way down on page 1 may help you.
didnt help, the phone reboots and stays off until i take out the usb cable/charger, except in download mode, weird
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/27596-q-phone-shuts-down-when-connected-to-usb/
This sounds like your issue. Install CWM and flash a custom ROM.. if for whatever reason you want Froyo, then I recommend Bionix V with the Bali kernel.
Or you could shoot high and try Helly Bean
Anyways, flashing past Eclair seems to be the solution to your particular problem. I would assume most people don't notice it because they don't stay on Eclair for more than a few seconds.
Hope this helps.
