I have a .bin file (64KB) that contains authorization code. It gets stored on an express-card dongle that runs Analog Device Sharc Processor. Plugging that i am trying to run is installed (and able to run in in demo for 14 days) but .bin file tells the processor if it authorized or not.
So i am looking for a way to hack the file. I tried to open it up with a hex editor but nothing helpful in there.
Any thoughts? directions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

hello im new here,
the problem i have is that my device will not sync/connect with windows/activesync, it synced once recently, i was able to explore the device but several minutes later the connection died.
i think there may be some setting preventing syncing/usb connection.
i cannot change any settings since theres a startup program that wont let me close it, but if i press the calendar button that appears briefly.
http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=305
this is my device, i have tried himaupdate and the latest version of hima but i get connection errors, once briefly i got it to go to the upgrade screen where i get to see the version from and to ..
the device is connected by cradle and if i pull it out and stick it in active sync reacts but then doesnt connect.
i have tried moving, holding, adjusting, wiggling the device in the cradle thinking it might be not touching the pins but no help.
what i think i need is to eith disable startup scripts or have some sort of brute flashing utility to upgrade it. thing is i dont know ebough about these devices to try anything more adventurous without help/assistance.
please can you help me out?
did you put it in bootloader mode before trying to upgrade ?
if not do so
how would one put it in boot loader ?
i am pc savvy not pocketpc savvy
thank you

hey great faq, im one step closer i think,
i needed my gf to help me with the vulcan death pinch.
this is what i see, and my device is recognised by windows as a new usb device that i have no drivers for...
i cannot find any drivers on the manufacturers site
let it use internet ms site as possible search for drivers then it should see it as some ms generic device
which can recieve flash from the tool
Rudegar, i have tried the windows update for drivers and other places online including the ppc_usb10.exe, and still no luck.
i bought myself an sd card is there any way of flashing from the sd card using the magical bootloader ?
---
well i have copied some files to my sd card, and inserted the cared into my device booted into bootloader mode,
Code:
FlashUpdateUtility.dll Application Extension 76 KB 16/06/2004 11:12:16
MC50.TXT Text Document 384 B 12/09/2006 18:07:02
MC50wseApp00B.hex HEX File 2,172 KB 12/09/2006 16:14:36
MC50wseIPL06270500.hex HEX File 194 KB 28/06/2005 12:23:54
MC50wseOS12120500.bgz BGZ File 15,332 KB 13/12/2005 01:03:20
MC50wsePlat019.hex HEX File 4,134 KB 12/09/2006 16:13:34
MC50wsePt64M003.hex HEX File 10 KB 11/01/2005 09:59:54
OSUPD50.EXE Application 37 KB 13/05/2004 10:50:18
OSUPDATE.EXE Application 4 KB 03/11/2004 03:41:56
then i executed all the .hex files when given the option, after that my device became windows ce, with almost no other than basic software installed.
i would like to know where i could find hex files for windows mobile 2005, or if i can extract hex files from "nk.nbf"
thank you,
Hi all, I am trying to build android from source (Cyanogenmod) for my phone Sony Xpreia Pro (iyokan). I am following the instructions at wiki{DOT}cyanogenmod{DOT}org/w/Build_for_iyokan (I haven't posted a lot so I can't post URLs ). During my build I need to do one additional step. I need to pull the proprietary files from my device. This is where the problem comes in.
I found that there are 4 files which the extract-files.sh script cannot extract. This causes problem in the build process and the build process stops without completion. The files which the script cannot find are:
/system/bin/calibrator
/system/etc/firmware/wl1271-fw-multirole-roc.bin
/system/lib/libc2d2_z180.so
/system/lib/egl/libGLESv2S3D_adreno200.so
I found wl1271-fw-multirole-roc.bin at "/system/etc/firmware/ti-connectivity/" instead of "/system/etc/firmware/". Is it fine to modify the "proprietary-files.txt" to have this path instead of the "/system/etc/firmware/"? I am not sure if the functionality of both the files is same.
Also I found a file called "wlan_calibrator" instead of "calibrator" in the same location. I also found a file called libGLESv2_adreno200.so instead of libGLESv2S3D_adreno200.so
Would it be fine if I change the name in "proprietary-files.txt"? Again, I am not sure if the functionality of the other files is same. I couldn't find the file called "libc2d2_z180.so"
I really don't know what to do and would really appreciate if anyone could help me on what I should be doing.
Hi,
I've been trying to locate the "boot photo" on an Amlogic S912 TV box that I have in order to change it. It is the first image that you see when you power the unit on, followed by the boot video which I have already changed and is located in the "etc" folder of the unit. I cannot find the location of the initial photo though. If anyone can tell me what folder it is located in I would certainly appreciate it! I believe it is either in bmp format or png format. The unit is running android 6 and these are the folders that are in the unit. (If this question is in the wrong section I apologize in advance!)
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
It's not gonna be there. That image is stored in one of 2 places in every device I have had. It was either on the boot partition or bundled with the kernel. Either way you would have to flash the device to change it.
I just discovered that it is in the "logo.partition" which shows up in temp/ level 1 with the Amlogic Customization Tool, but I'd like to find out how to modify that with my own photo and then repack the firmware. Any ideas?

You would need to extract that partition and find the file that it is placing in temp. Change the file and refresh the partition. Mind you this is dangerous and doesn't always work. But as long as you ha e an unlocked bootloader you should be able to recover.
The "logo.partition" is a single file in the level 1 temp file directory. It is actually a single file type, but I don't know how to disassemble the file or what program would open it. I can get a hex editor to open it, but that doesn't help me much since it is a 6 megabyte file and the hex, of course, is unreadable...at least to me. There are about 20 files in the level one temp folder of which this is just one. The program works just fine with Amlogic devices that are running Android 5 and below and does almost everything with Android 6, but this is one of the things that it won't do in Android 6 and the Customization program has not been updated for a couple of years. I'm hope that eventually it will be but at this point I need another way or program that will allow me to do it!
Found it..... It's in the Level 2 folder. Easy to put into the firmware once you know where it is!
I've been looking into the serial AT commands for LG phones (G3 & G4). I was able through objdump to reassemble the file /bin/atd which holds all the AT commands, like AT%FRST (factory reset device), etc.
Anyways, what I'm looking to do now is to find the actual functions that go along with these AT commands located in the file: atd. I was able to snoop around a bit and found many files that all seemed to converse with this main atd file, but finding the actual functions was to no avail. I was able to generate a atd.c file through an online decompiler, but the file is generated and doesn't seem to actually show the actual functions, but just the memory addresses to these AT functions themselves, which I haven't been able to trace. I'm looking for certain files that I could reassemble and get these functions that go along with the commands, it'd be greatly appreciated for any help at all. Thank you
If you'd like me to show my current findings, please let me know. First time posting on here, and I can't seem to locate the attachment button.
I have an offline game that does a file verification check each time you open the game. This game is a port of a PC game and as such the file structure is identical. With other games like this I have been able to use mods available on the PC version but in this case the file check is recognizing that certain files are larger(HD res models and such) and won't get past the file check. I'm curious if anyone has any experience with file checks like this and how exactly they are being performed and how I could remove them whether that be modifications to the APK, EXE, or whatever it is. Any help would be much appreciated and I'd be more than happy to provide answers to any questions you might have.
