Yahoo messenger with video works for dell streak too. I tried it .
The only issue is that it uses the back camera instead of the front camera.
An option pops up asking to flip cameras but i cant select it . Hopefully someone can help

I am not able to get it working on my streak, I have downloaded both files and installed tnem, but I get the same old yahoo messenger and I don't see the option of video chat or webcam anywhere???
It's the same messenger, any help please?

two things
1. uninstall the yahoo messenger app from the market and then install the files
2. u have to be calling the people who have webcams

i mostly use yahoo messenger now as i have most of the my friends in yahoo
Must be needing 2.1 or above because it is cannot be installed on 1.6 via the apk provided from the link.
Not sure if anyone is watching the other thread; but on like page 14 there is an updated version now.

ahhh.. looks like the new version fixed it for some phones. Has anyone tried it on the Streak? I'm quite happy with the Fring since 2.2, just need earphones to hear the other person properly.
Can anyone with 2.2 try this and report back if this works with streak?

Nope... however, according to DJSteves latest 1.3 release, this should now be enabled.
As yet I have not tested.

No does not work with Front facing camera ( FFC )
Still uses the back camera.
Hoepfully this should resolve once the official version is out.
2.1 rom , yahoo messenger work , video doesn't work .

Hi, I´m on DJ Steves 1.5.1 and I am not able to rotate the map with two fingers. Pinch to Zoom and viewing the map at an angle works, but rotating doesn´t.
A friend of mine has the desire and with that phone rotating works, so it´s not the application.
Ok, seems to be a problem with the streak.

I am at work right know so I can´t really play around with my phone too much.
I've tried the new maps and I'm having the same issue, no map rotation.

Its doesn't for me at least. Kinda messed up the pinch to zoom and tilt function even after i put back the original file,so i have to reflash 1.5.1, just be warning
BTW are you guys on Stephen's rom? Apparently one of the guy at MoDaCo forum report that everything work on his official rom.
So i was wondering it might have something to do with Stephen's rom
I am pretty sure this has something to do with the market fingerprint being that of a nexus one.
Also having problems with personalized voice search.
Basically I think we are getting some watered down versions of some of the latest google app updates.

At least in 1.4.6 "android.hardware.touchscreen.multitouch.distinct" feature is not set in /etc/permissions. After it is set, rotate works properly in Maps 5.0. This has been discussed in Nexus One and Modaco Streak forums.

I can confirm its working fine on official froyo. how about 3d buildings?

works fine on the official 318 froyo. if you have unlimited data, i suggest going to menu > more > cache settings > turn on prefetch on mobile.

Please update your Tango app. I just tested it. It works on my 2.2 streak running streakdroid 1.81.
I love this video call app. enjoy!
And by working I mean the front facing camera is recognized and I am able to switch back and forth between cameras during a video call.

Just Tango'd my brother who has the EVO, worked fine, decent visuals under the limits of Wifi that I'm under at work, #happycamper
Just updated to 1.8.1 and tried to install tango but I keep on getting error message that I have insufficient memory when I install it. Tried to install other apps like yahoo messenger to check but it was ok. Anybody else having a problem installing tango?

Had that issue with chompsms. Had to do a factory reset to resolve that issue.

That's just what I did, and yes I was able install it.

read this post with interest...just looking iinto video calling...tested out the oovoo that came with 345.....
was pretty pants over GPRS, very good over wifi..not had chance to try "in the field" yet over 3G/H.
does anybody have comments on which is better? does tango keep running like oovoo does?

Been using ooVoo for awhile now. No issues. Love it. Will try tango soon.
looks like fring will be releasing an update for Streak and Atrix users shortly
according to Fring Facebook...would post a link, but stuck behind a proxy at work.

tried on Dj steve 1.8.1 ,318 bb..ffc works now not the back camera though.
Works on DJ Steve 1.9.0 as well. Front camera only.

It's impossible.
We need Android 2.3.
The only videocall that works is Tango, BUT ONLY with the REAR CAM so it's useless.
Google+ don`t work either.
So. we must wait and pray! xD

Minimal problems getting it to work with my wife's Viewpad 7e. The trick is to use that silly 3rd party marketplace (not the amazon one). I originally tried to copy the apk file to the tablet, it installed, it loaded up, but wouldnt log in. Using the marketplace version, worked just fine.

Does anybody else you facebook on there dell streak and it looks like the old facebook apps all my other devices the facebook is the newer version but since I used my dell streak its the older version. If so.does anyone know why or if theres a way of getting the newer version thanks

open google play and search facebook... you will get many facebook alternative there... :good:

I did a search with: facebook 1.9.7. Download the apk and installed it...it worked for me
