Morning.
Is there a method to revert back to an old SPL from 3.03.0000 ?
I have searched and searched but to no avail yet. I have tried HSPL2 and 3. I have read that applying a old stock from from SD card does not work either.
The situation is that my HD2 has come back from warantee repair (overheating/reboot issue) and is running SPL 3.03 with their stock rom. This means that I cannot run a lightweight windows rom and therefore cannot properly run my favourite Android rom(s).
I have read a few people in the same boat so thought I would create a new thread as I couldn't find one yet.
Thank you so much.
Yans.
Hello!
I've had this problem too. You have to flash an ORIGINAL ROM from HTC homepage for your device. You will need the serial number (under the battery) of your HD2. Flash the Original Rom that you downloaded from HTC. After this you will have the old SPL version on your HD2.

I think theres no normal way (means u cant downgrade official roms, without hspl) of downgrading. U have to use hspl, if it capable of removing the 3.03 spl. If HSPL2-3 cant do that, u have to wait for the new hspl.
Correct me if im wrong.

Hallo

As i told u guys before. U cant install official roms via activesync. Theres only 1 way and that is HSPL.
U cant downgrade officials rom via activesync or sd card.

The only way is HSPl.
Hi.
Don't be fooled.
I have upgraded and downgraded, and upgraded and downgraded and upgraded again using only the .exe files downloaded from htc.com
Look at this post:

Let me check for you....
EDIT:
Just went back to spl-1.42.0000 by just flashing to 1.48 stock WWE rom.
So I guess you can go back to any rom easily.
Now flashing back to 3.14....

Of course you can downgrade.
What they mean is that your data is permanently lost. Nothing else.

Downloaded the Roms through the support part of HTC.com
Connect phone with activesync.
Run downloaded .exe
That's it.
Easy as that.
If HTC.com does not take your serial (IE branded phone) look at this topic for the new rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8725893&postcount=26187
And here for older stock rom:

Well, i remember i tried to downgrade once, and i got a message, that i have newer rom, so it cant downgrade.
But i belive u, and still htc says its not possibile.
Thank you
Thank you everyone for your assistance. i am back on HSPL 2.08.
I already had the stock rom from HTC website because I put it on to send the phone back for repairs. I put this back on a moment ago and it put SPL 1.42 back on, PERFECT!
The only reason I didn't do this before (after reading other posts) is because when I did this initially (for sending the phone back) it didn’t touch the SPL but now I realise this was down to the fact it was running HSPL and not SPL.
So I have now incremented SPL 1.42 to HPSL 2.08 and running ChuchDroid for my lovely Android rom. Excellent.
Thank you all
Yans.
Go to your local HTC.com website,go to the support page, look for ROM upgrades for your device(HD2),if the old ROM is removed from the website you most probably wont be able to downgrade, now if you find there 2 ROM updates, say like 3.14.xxx and 166.XXX,chose the older version and enter your S/N if accepts its good to go
Hey guys. Im having this problem over at this thread: /showthread.php?t=814656
My problem is that Activesync does not detect my phone. So I can't downgrade.. But if I somehow get one of the official ROM's (say 1.48) and get the .nbh file onto the sd card, could that work?
YES I DID IT!! Multi card reader for the win!
Flashed WWE rom below but SPL still shows old one HSDL 1.42
Should it not upgrade to SPL 3.03?

yeeyyyyyyy thank you so much guys...with your help i could get back to 1.42. from 3.03 now im gonna look for some nice wm and android roms thank you so so much guys you made my day
Great to know.
My HD2 died with an unresponsive touchscreen, whilst having hspl 1.42 on.
I got the latest ROM off HTC with my serial, flashed with EXE but HSPL was not overwritten, so I thought that flashing through activesync didn't upgrade the SPL.
Hence I flashed latest rom via microSD and I got the SPL 3.03 there, sure that there was a HSPL for that too.
When I realized there wasn't, I was left with the nightmare of getting back from warranty a bloathed system I couldn't get back to operating conditions.
Now I discover that all it takes to downgrade SPL 3.03 is running the official exe for your device off an older ROM.
Nice.

Dear friend;
i would like to know how did you down grade spl?
Related
Few months ago I installed HSPL 3 and I had no problems at all with WinMo.
Now the DHD Android builds are enough stable for everyday use, so I'm switching to Android completely.
For some strange reason I cannot flash the SPL 3.14 for both sd-card and usb.
On USB, it stops at 0%.
How can I successfully installed the latest stock spl & rom?
Thanks
HTC HD2 WWE
EDIT
PROBLEM SOLVED
Update
I've download the new stock ROM from both htc.com and xda. same problem.
I've format the SD card and I've tried used non-SDHC card.
no result..
EDIT:
I've tried task29 + flash Stock rom.. 1st ok, 2nd Fail.
Flashing a custom ROM no problems at all
sigh..
First of all the 3.14 EU stock ROM's aren't compatible with HSPL; so this need to remove.
Secondly witch error message do you get?
Thirdly do you have a branded device?

I'm gonna try to remove the HSPL, back to stock 2.08
No message, it gets stuck at 0%
No branded phone
I've tryed everything now, I guess
Even Goldcard.. Nothing..
When trying to flash from the SD card simply it doesn't do it..
What can I do then?
EDIT: to make it clear, I've problems updating the SPL from 2.08 to 3.14; otherwise both WinMo and Android are working flawlees
I guess is due to the fact that 2.08 is only for TMob Usa version.. so How can I get back to 1.66 then?

Install the old 1.72 etc ROM through SD card and it will replace the SPL then you can put HSPL 2.08 for your desired Custom ROM. I hope this helps.?
Yup its simple go to shippedroms.com ... get ur stock rom... flash it... and ya then flash the hspl and radio
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Hmmmm, I have the 3.14 ROM with 3.03.000 SPL installed.
What I`m trying to do is Install NAND Android. But to do this I need HSPL 2.08.
Tried downloading one of the older stock roms and then attemped to flash via SD and through the .exe file directly.
From the .exe file it boots to the tri color screen and then reaches the progress bar screen. However it sticks there and the errors out with a code : 262.
Through the SD method after the phone detects the .nbh file it comes back with a "28002 : Not allow" error message.
Have tried this with varoius types of Mem cards but no luck.
Is it actually possible to downgrade a 3.03 SSPL?? I read in some forums here that it isnt.
Question : Since this isnt working, will a task 29 help in this case? From what I understand it formats the filesystem that holds the OS. By doing so, will I then be able to flash one of the older Roms so I can install HSPL 2.08?

Task 29 will not work with SPL 3.03.
You need to go to HTC's website and use your phone's serial number to download an older version of the ROM - you will only be allowed to download ROMs which are allowed for your phone. You cannot download a HTC stock ROM if your phone is restricted to a branded (phone operator's) ROM. You should be able to get a 1.66 or 1.72 or 2.08 or 2.10 ROM (dependant upon branding and country).
Put the phone into BootLoader mode, then connect to your computer and run the downloaded file.
it works!!!
download old original rom like 1.48.479.1_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship
flash it via activesync/ win mobile center(win7)
it will downgrade 3.03.0000 to spl 1.42.0000
Thanks a lot for info!

SPL - 3.03 and ROM 3.14... Affecting installation for W7?
I have noticed that I have the same problem with my HD2 6.5
I have on it:
SPL-3.03.0000
ROM version - 3.14.405.2 (04666) WWE
What my main concern is however, is whether you think it's possible for me to install Windows 7 on this model or do I have to go to an older ROM and SPL version to achieve this.
Any help greatly appreciated thank you

Ass for I know, to be able to install WP7 ROM on your HD2 you will need HSPL. And probably you know it already, but stock ROM 3.14 isn't compatible with HSPL, so yes you need to downgrade your stock ROM before.

To get back to your original SPL, you will need to do it using SD card method. If you use Activesync method, it will only upgrade the SPL and won't downgrade.
similar problem on my HD2
Thanks for the heads up, I did as suggested before...
So..
1. I got ROM 1.66 with Radio 15.30.50 from HTC forum and installed in order to downgrade my ROM
2. After that I flashed HSPL2 and selected SPL-2.08.HSPL
(After this it showed phone was hacked successfully and after it rebooted I can't get past the hanging white screen)
3. I *ignored this* then switched off phone and got into boatloader again and ran MAGLDR112 and the RUU loaded up to 100% and booted up but again it still hangs at the white screen stopping at the htc logo. That's when I thought probably step 2 was where I had hit a problem...
4. After a couple of attempts I decided to put it back to the 1.66 I got from HTC forum so I can use phone for the meanwhile
- I have been following the threads, and a lot of people seem to suggest that the white screen is something to do with having the wrong radio version. (Do you share the same thoughts or have I gone completely wrong elsewhere in your opinion?)
- And if it is a radio issue which do you think goes best with the MAGLDR112 and LEO70-ROM
- If someone could paste a link I'd be happy to follow it up

Worked like a charm. I put on Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14** from one of the threads and from then on I then put back SPL-2.08HSPL and then loaded MAGLDR112 and it allowed me to access bootloader and from there I loaded the DWI file for Windows 7. Everything became kinda self-explanatory after following your help... Awesome, Windows 7 rocks... Off to activate the live services...
Hi,
I looked the forum up and down, but can't find my answer.
So here my Q.
I had HSPL2.
After I installed the official ROM 3.14NL I started having memory problems.
I switched to SPL 2.08.
Still the same problem.
Do I have to reinstall the ROM 3.14?
It seems I need to have the SPL 3.03.0000?
Will it go automaticly to SPL 3.03.0000 with the reinstall?
Thanks.

Using the right stock ROM.
Go to the HTC webpage and download with your S/N the stock ROM. and use this.
The problem would probably be do to a non compatible stock ROM.
And flash it then over SD; here you have the steps.
1) Download the correct Stock ROM from the HTC Webpage by using your S/N. (you will get a RUU_Leo_xxx_x.XX.xxx.x_Radio_xx.xx.xx.xU_x.xx.xx.x_LEO_Ship file.)
2) Right click on the RUU_Leo_xxx_x.XX.xxx.x_Radio_xx.xx.xx.xU_x.xx.xx.x_LEO_Ship file and select extract with 7Zip/WinZip
3) Prepared your SD-card (use a 2 or 4GB SD no bigger) and format it by FAT32
4)Take the "RUU_signed.nbh" from it and copy it to SD card.
5) Rename the "RUU_signed.nbh" to "leoimg.nbh"
6) Reset the device while pressing the volume down button
7) Follow the instructions mention on your device screen

The "Ongeldige verkoper-ID" is the error that say's you that you are trying to install a stock ROM that don't match your device.
Mostly because peoples have a branded device and are trying to install a normal stock ROM.
Did you use your (not from someone els) S/N to download the stock ROM from the HTC Webpage?
Nope, used the Netherlands S/N from XDA Developers.
Bought the phone in Germany, and there was allready a HSPL on it.
Not sure wich ROM originaly was on it.
Think I'm going back to Stock ROM 1.66.
Worked fine.
Strange that I could replace it by 3.14 though.
But of course the SPL did not change to 3.03

That's the problem sir. Your device is a originally German Device.
Like I mention before for Stock ROM 3.14 you can't use HSPL and you need to use YOUR S/N to download/install the correct 3.14 stock ROM.
Ons you have install the right/correct stock ROM (German version in your case) than extract the NLD 3.14 stock rom and use the RUU_signed.nbh from the NLD stock ROM and install this by using SSPL_RUU.exe
So, conclusion:
- Don't use HSPL
- Install the correct 3.14 stock ROM (German version)
- Install then the NLD version by using SSPL_RUU
Thanks again.
Excellent and detailed info.
Bur with my own number it now says that my S/N does not qualify for download an available Stock ROM 3.14 from the HTC site.
So I think it's a WWE version?
I downgraded again to 1.66.
Al programs working fine.
Will a HSPL 3.03 follow in the future?
Again, thanks for your effort.

So I think it's a WWE version?
I downgraded again to 1.66.
Al programs working fine.
Will a HSPL 3.03 follow in the future?
Again, thanks for your effort.

Hmm, I see.
About a compatible HSPL version with SPL 3.03 It's a wail now that SPL 3.03 exist and till here there is no feedback/reply if a new HSPL version will/and when it will be created.
But concern your cases; probably you have a branded German device (who don't have received a 3.14 stock ROM updated.)
The only thing you can do is use the GoldCard Technique. >> Read more info about it here <<
Don't think it's branded.
I was able to put Stock ROM 3.14NL on it, with HSPL.
Only issue was that SPL did not change.

Trust me; it's branded.
And yes, it is normal that you can install a other stock ROM on your device if you have/use HSPL (that's the force of HSPL).
But like you already know, HSPL isn't compatible with Stock ROM 3.14 so the only solution left if you will upgrade to 3.14 stock ROM is to use the GoldCard technique.
Alright guys so I'm trying to install a custom rom but I' m stuck because I cannot even get hspl installed.
I have an AT&T Titan and am using a selfmade y- cable and to gold card. I flashed the OSPL 2.5 via goldcard and it worked with success, next I ran HSPL Wizard and it said that hspl installed correctly but when the device rebooted hspl wasn't installed.(Picture 1)
So I'd tried reflashing the stock Rom"IMG_Eternity_Cingular_US_1.10.502.04_Radio_16.23.02.26_A_16.27.00.23_Signed_ETERNITY_RELEASE" to redowngrade the Spl and it flashed with success!(Picture 2)
The problem now is that even after flashing the stock rom the spl is still "2.5" when it should be "1.10"(Picture 3)
So my question to you fine gentelmen is, "Does anyone know of a way to get my spl to change?"
Thank you all in Advance!
Also now when I try to gold card anything other than a signed Cingular rom my device shows loading... the card reader flashes a few times, and then it jumps staight back to the spl loader mode?(like pic 1 and 3)
I haven't done it yet, but I am when my cables get here, but I have read the ENTIRE thread of Gold Card and DFT's HSPL for 2nd Gen devices, so I'll take a stab at it first.
you said I flashed the OSPL 2.5 via goldcard and it worked with success,, the OSPL is the original SPL when you need to bring it back to stock for warranty reasons. But that doesn't explain as to why your pics say that you SPL is 2.05 either. From my reading, if your SPL is now 2.05, you can flash HSPL and custom ROMS.
I would flash the SPL again, using the SPL not OSPL.
I'm sure you did that initially and just typed it wrong or I'm misunderstanding you.
Yeah I actually meant just the spl that came with dft's hspl.
i'm in the process of rewiring my y-cable and trying to start fresh!
Will post the results!
Thanks for replying though man!
I managed to get back my spl to 1.10 from 2.6 (from the recent HTC update), by flashing the stock rom twice. This was coincidental, while I trying to get the internet sharing to work with my att titan 1 (there is a thread for this in this forum)- This how I did it: flash stock cingular rom, then forced cab update to 8107; booted phone then reset while booting up switched it again to spl mode to reflash stock cingular rom second time then forced update cab update again to 8107, following this i did a factory reset. After all this long drawn process I didn't get the internet sharing to work but for some reason it did downgrade spl from 2.6 to the original 1.10
BTW, my att titan is now unbranded, flashed with european stock rom using goldcard with spl 2.5
Same Issue here.. except I'm on the 2.5 that came with DFT's folder.. I can only flash the AT&T .nbh nothing else
I can't even get to 2.6 (HTC update). stuck on 2.5

I reflashed the stock rom, and tried cab update to 8107 but when I run cab sender tool it finishes "restarting your phone..Error: System.Exception: Firmware Device is null at wm7update.Program.UpdateDevice(IDeviceInfo deviceInfo, List' 1 updates, UpdateType type)
at wm7update.Program.Main(String[] args)"
Never used cab sender so I have no idea what this means.
Sorry mate, I can't help you with that error. I haven't had any problem with cab sender with stock cingular rom. Try to search the other forum re cab sender. I wonder if this is to do with the DFT 2.5 spl. Why not try to debrand your att titan using the goldcard method? this might be the long process if you can't get the cab update going.
Now I'm stuck on 7720 .. CabSender Doesn't work (null Firmware)... Can't Flash Europe 2.05 rom using GoldCard... I'm stuck with 2.5(DFT) SPL even when i try flashing the SPL 2.6 from HTC or the HSPL from DFT.... Whatever SPL they made or got it from..... It won't upgrade/downgrade.
This is Nice...

I believe it has something to do with language cabs being sent with update cabs.

I'm just throwing this out there...but it seems that ATT Titans seem to be getting half brick issues more compared to unbranded devices.
Did you guys stay at stock SPL 1.10 (never upgraded the bootloader from the HTC website) when you tried installing the HSPL through goldcard?
OR
Did you upgrade the bootloader (off the HTC website) to upgrade the SPL to 2.6 before trying the goldcard?
I have not tried anything yet with my phone, but I was curious because half of the Titans have SPL 2.6 already from HTC while all/most ATT users are stuck at 1.10. -Would this have anything to do with the problems we are having?

Flashing the stock rom twice reverted the spl back to 1.10 for someone else earlier today. its worth a shot.

I had SPL 1.10 ... Then I made a GoldCard with the 2.05 SPL within the DFT folder and flashed... The Bootloader then read 2.5.XXXXX ... So I assumed all went well and ran the HSPL Install program.. It continued successfully and claimed HSPL was installed.. I restarted the phone and the bootloader still read 2.5.XXXX

Even without the Language cab it fails... And the phone does not stay in the Zune Update Screen for long... If I restart the phone and manually enter the Zune Screen (Vol-) it restarts after 2~ seconds.
----
I tried flashing the Cingular 1.10 rom twice via GoldCard and RUU both flashed successively but kept the SPL at 2.5
habnzrot .. From what i assume did not attempt HSPL, merely updated to HTC 2.6 SPL then unbranded the titan by flashing Europe ... essentially going from 2.6 > 2.05 > 1.10
Whatever is going DFT SPL2.05 is preventing it from being rewritten up or down
Back on 8107 ... Run the Cabsender and while the phone is restarting for the first time.. Pull the Battery and then Power on the phone while holding (vol-)
The downgrade happened when I was on stock Cingular rom with spl 2.6 (upgraded through HTC recent bootloader update) as I said previously it was a pure coincidence whille I was trying to get my internet sharing to work. When I unbranded my titan though goldcard, I first upgraded it using the HTC update so I was back to spl 2.6 ATM I have not tried to flash the HSPL.
This is very interesting...on the DFT thread on the Windows forum, it seems very few people with ATT Titans have the HSPL and actually flashed a custom rom.
So Tachi, just for confirmation your phone actually had "HSPL" 2.5.xxxx after goldcard? or just SPL 2.5.xxxx??? I think the OP had just "SPL" 2.5.xxxx after trying to goldcard with HSPL.
It would be very interesting if this has to do with the original SPL number on the phone. When you upgrade to SPL 2.05 (which is basically the same/modified HTC's 2.5 SPL?) it's possible that it doesn't "successfully" upgrade when we have SPL 1.10 even if it does say "successful."
Now going back to your problem...and once again I am throwing this out there...
Have you tried reflashing the stock OS with with Advanced RUU?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1637294
I am not entirely sure if what this does as it may be just another way to flash through RUU, but I remember Task 29 on WinMobile where it practically wiped the phone before you could install the a new/stock OS/SPL.

I had 1.10 then I used the GoldCard to flash DFT 2.05 SPL ... Thats when It showed 2.5 ... I attempted afterwards to flash HSPL but the SPL remained at 2.5 ..
I tried using the Advanced RUU but its the same.
task28 stops task29 which formats the Partition where the UserData is stored... It leaves the radio/SPL untouched. Now task00 stops task28 from taking place keeping UserData, but it fails when i try doing a task00/28 with the 2.05 SPL DFT provided.

That is BALLS!!! yea, thanks for the info on "Task" - I totally did not know that. Well I will continue to look into this issue. I might even try it myself once I get my Y cable here in the next few days. But anyway, hopefully more folks will chime in to help you over on the DFT thread.
Does anyone know if we can overwrite the spl via cabs?

No.. cabs work only on things that deal with the OS. Bootloader, Radio, SPL are too low level actions.
Have anybody fixed this cabsender error: "system.exception: firmware device is null"? I still can't upload language pack. What I'm doing wrong?
I've just unlock my Titan as described ht tp://ww w.youtube.com/watch?v=drTVTuj71TY
