You could try using Root Explorer (paid app). It lets you do pretty much anything. Rename, delete, copy / paste, etc with root rights.

Download a root explorer app like "Root Explorer" (obviously) or File Expert, go to the system/app folder and give it write permissions (there would be options for that). After that you can copy to that folder. After copying, reboot.

I use Titanium Backup Pro and Freeze the apps for now...
If you have root, you can download Root Explorer from the app store. Use it to browse to the app directory and just delete the apps you don't want. Another option is to rename the unwanted apps. For example, change APPNAME.apk to APPNAME.apk.bk ... then it will be "hidden" from the system. Restore it at anytime by removing the ".bk" extension.

Is there a free version of root explorer? Or a free way to rename these files? I don't really feel like paying $4 to remove bloatware.

Anytime I connect via my computer, it says permission denied for su. I know I have root, so I am a little confused. I can uninstall with Titanium Backup, but I was planning on keeping a copy of the apk, just in case. Is there any reason I would need this bloatware? Such as for Warranty or insurance? Other wise I'll just go and remove the worst of the bloat with Titanium backup. Thanks.

there is RUU downloads in the Dev forum that will get you back to where you need to be in case you want to warranty your phone and make it 100% stock again. Best thing to do before removing stuff is boot into clockwork recovery or use rom manager(from the market) and backup everything...then delete. if you come across a problem with deleting something jsut restore from a backup.

Your tablet needs to be rooted to remove system apps. After that you should be able to use Titanium backup or any root explorer to remove the app.
Not working

Hi, I have already rooted my tab. When I try to use Titanium backup or Root explorer, it says that I cant remove the app because it's read only.
On a lighter note, I hate how my name has been "censored"

Interesting... Are you running a custom ROM, or stock? Second, when using Root Explorer, did you make sure to hit the itty bitty "Mount R/W" button at the top of the file list? Third, have you tried "freezing" the app with Titanium Backup instead of deleting, sometimes that works. Otherwise, you may have to try ADB to remove or rename the apk, or see if someone has a flashable zip for the custom maps apk you need.

[Q] Can I individually remove bloatware apps?

Titanium Backup and freeze the app instead of removing in case you want to take a future OTA.

Get titanium backup and uninstall them.you'll recognize them because of the app icon that looks the same as the one in app drawer. Check also the list of apps that are harmless to remove. Just google it.

Can anyone here offer any comment on the differences/benefits/drawbacks in phone performance and battery life when deciding between freezing or uninstalling using TiBU, and using a custom de-bloat script like the one found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2313341
