Download a root explorer app like "Root Explorer" (obviously) or File Expert, go to the system/app folder and give it write permissions (there would be options for that). After that you can copy to that folder. After copying, reboot.

You could try using Root Explorer (paid app). It lets you do pretty much anything. Rename, delete, copy / paste, etc with root rights.
Anyone know how to delete titanium backup if it was included with the rom? Other root uninstallers don't seem to do the job.
Why do you want to uninstall? It is proly the most useful app available
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
You have two options here.
1. Use it. Probably the most useful app. Maybe tied with Rom Manager
2. Ignore it for now. Then use it when you realize you'll need to.
So i submit...no way to uninstall this app? I want the newest version, but it crashes when attempting to update fm market, so i wish to start anew. Thanks
have you tried settings > apps > manage apps > tibu > uninstall
While the rom is on your computer use 7zip or winrar to access the archive and remove titanium apk from system/apps. Then flash the rom like any other rom.

So for whatever reason...it states uninstall unsuccessful. Ok, will try last suggestion or will just re-install Rom. Thanks.

Just right click the rom and click explore from your pc and remove the titanium apk from the system/apps folder. Then flash. I'm not sure if you have to wipe. I would.

Have you tried clearing the cache before trying to update it?
Root explorer -> /system/app -> Mount R/W -> Delete -> Mount R/O.

Your tablet needs to be rooted to remove system apps. After that you should be able to use Titanium backup or any root explorer to remove the app.
Not working

Hi, I have already rooted my tab. When I try to use Titanium backup or Root explorer, it says that I cant remove the app because it's read only.
On a lighter note, I hate how my name has been "censored"

Interesting... Are you running a custom ROM, or stock? Second, when using Root Explorer, did you make sure to hit the itty bitty "Mount R/W" button at the top of the file list? Third, have you tried "freezing" the app with Titanium Backup instead of deleting, sometimes that works. Otherwise, you may have to try ADB to remove or rename the apk, or see if someone has a flashable zip for the custom maps apk you need.
hi
i can't install titanium backup, i have had it install before, but know when i try to install it it says " not enough storage" but i can install all other apps
means u dont have enough space on phone..either delete some apps or use apps2sd to mov apps to sd card
But the wierd thing is that I have enough space, can install other apparently, and have around 500 mb left

Done...
Hope it helps.

Well are you rooted? You need root, and to turn on root access in the settings of ES file explorer before you can access /data/app.
/data/app is not actually in either the internal sd partition or the external sd.
I'm a motorola defy user, used google and saw this thread, I also can't install titanium backup. I dont have the .odex file on system/data/app folder.
other apps install except titanium backup
edit: follow these steps
you need to delete odex file com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup-1.odex or same from /data/app directory
now working

You need to be rooted, of course. When you open ES Explorer, press the Back button once. That'll take you to your root directory, where the system/data/app folder resides
Can't install titanium backup
To fix it, you need to remove the patch installed by Lucky Patcher.
Open Lucky Patcher. Press menu button and hit Troubleshooting, then
Uninstall Patches. This will remove all patches that were installed by
Lucky Patcher for all apps.
Now, go to Troubleshooting again, and hit Clear Dalvik Cache and
Reboot.
Now, install Titanium Backup.
Note that you have to reapply patches for all apps you had previously
patched.
I've just installed CSROM Turbo, and I'm attempting to restore some of the stock apps the author has removed. The author has placed all removed apps into deodexed apk files in a zip folder. I've been attempting to take the apk files and simply click on them from my sd card to install, but it won't let me. I haven't been able to search for instructions on how to re-install these removed stock apps. Can someone help me, please?
Thanks!
Those are system apks that cannot be just installed. Simply copy them into /system/app. I hope you know that means using root-level file manager.

Ah, didn't know they should just be copied; I'll definitely do that. I'll use Root Explorer to copy them over.
Thank you, I shall try this tonight!

Womp womp: I tried this tonight... unfortunately, nothing happens. I used Root Explorer to copy the deodexed files to /system/app. I restarted the phone, wiped the cache, restarted the phone again... but the stock music player I hoped to use did not appear.
Also, when I put the calendar widget on the home screen, it, "refreshing" or "loading". But none of my calendar entries are shown. So, similar to the music apk, I copied the calendar apks to the /system/app directory, but then all calendar options disappear.
Any advice? Thanks!
