Fancy Widget - Vibrant Themes and Apps

Fancy widget is back in the market. Looks pretty good!!

I like them both. Not sure which one I want to use now.

Tried it. Not impressive...at all. Weather & Toggle Widgets / Beautiful Widgets are still a better "paid" choice. Of course, I expected that. For free though, it's a nice offering.

Yes, really. It's got potential but not quite there yet IMO. I'm just one person, though.

Thanks for posting! I like this clock better, you can set it so there is no backgroung covering your wallpaper as well.

Xperia Arc Launcher (optimized for our Atrix 4Gs!)

Hey everyone.
Blackhead92 was kind enough to optimize this for us. Here's a link to the post.
***EDIT***
Here's a link to the download. Someone please upload it to the site as I'm at work: http://www.multiupload.com/T0E77ZYB5Z
Darn.. sorry, mods. Could someone please move it to the Apps and Themes sub forum? I got a little too excited and pulled the trigger lol
could you please send this file to me by email? I can't access the link.....

thank you very much!
It's good, but I just can't use it for one reason, the stupid ass grey bar at the bottom. It makes it look terrible and takes up the home screen.
It's all in this thread. I'm posting from work again so I can't send it. Hope this helps though!

This launcher kicks major ass.
Only thing is a meh to me is the lagginess of the drawer.
Other than that the rest is so freakin silky smooth.
Simply because the drawer lags or has a slowish animation, it doesnt mean that the rest of the phone lags, with this launcher its SUPER snappy..
I love IT!! can't wait for an update!

I know, man. I feel the exact same way. There's that teensy bit of lag you mentioned too but I hope it gets cleared up in future versions.
If blackhead92 can't hack those updates, I can create a patch to apply his mods over the stock one. I'm not the greatest coder but I can do this much at least. Such a wicked launcher. Not sure why no one else cares though!?
I personally like the other launchers but they're totally not polished like this one. Too many small, annoying bugs that the devs refuse to fix or just don't care about. I'm a perfectionist and like clean, simplistic launchers. I don't mind the eye candy either. Everyone at work loves this launcher because it's so sleek!
Yeah. Thanks for this. The 5x4 layout is really cool. I'm m not sure if there's a way to get this with other launchers.

Go to Atrix 4G development sub forum, look at "sideloading" mods. Once this is done then enable sideloading in settings > applications (not sure if this is needed or done automatically) and you should be good.

Launcher looks cool, I'm going to try that, but more importantly where you get the theme??
Or mods to the notification bar ? Are the battery icons included. or I could just wrestle my phone away from my daughter and try it I guess.... : )
EDIT: Loaded 960x540.apk. Looks good. App drawer came up relatively fast for me. Still have GB theme icons in notification bar. Going try 7 homescreens and landscape 230-320 now.
Not really digging transparency after launching app drawer. Maybe I'll get used to it.
It is very sweet though. Going on travel tomorrow, we'll see how it hangs with battery vice Launcher Pro.
Good stuff, Thanks !!!!

No problem, man. It really does look classy and sharp, doesn't it???
I ignore that thread in the main Apps section forever but the thread wouldn't go away. I finally clicked on it, installed it on my phone and was blown away
Just installed it. It is the best launcher in my opinion. It may not have all the nifty features but it looks good and is silky smooth.

It is nice tho in my opinion it needs some work. Replace dock bar image with transparent version and then darken menu image. If no1 else does I will in time.

very cool. but what about the battery icons ? I've slicked everything once again, and have everything reloaded and rocking. loaded gingerblur 1.1, (another work of art) but the GB icons kill me.

Hmm, could you? I hate that stupid grey bar. I LOVED it otherwise. Like I said, I just can't use it because of the ugly grey bar. It takes up like 1/5 of the home screen.
Anyways, I'd do it if I knew how...

BeWeather for Android

This is a beautiful weather app for Android just released! Probably has some of the best graphics of any weather app.

Looks a lot like Go Weather... which is free.
However, I like my beautiful widgets right now
I'd rather use Go Weather, which is free
I tried Goweather. It was ok but doesn't have near the function of BeWeather.

I appreciate your desire to pimp a product you're either the creator of, or a beta tester for, but given the sheer quantity of quality weather apps on the market, how do you/they justify charging $3.41 for their product? Beautiful Widgets is far more customizable and costs less, not to mention the plethora of other weather apps that are free and of a very high quality.

Lol, pimping? I don't think so and I wish I was the dev.
I've tried every weather app for android and this one has some of the best function.
Beautiful Widgets is exactly what it says. It should be customizable because their focus is the look. BeWeather is an actual weather app more like Palmary but with some other features.
There's no doubt they all have their positives and negatives. I was just posting it here in the apps section of the vibrant forum just like any other app.
Got a problem with that?

Replacement for Samsung's lock screen?

The stock lock screen is honestly pretty terrible. Laggy and pretty featureless. I've tried a few things from the Market, but as soon as I restart the phone I end up with two lock screens. Any leads?

WidgetLocker is the best replacement lockscreen app...IMHO. And tons of themes here on xda, I make WidgetLocker themes as well.
Try MILocker highly customizable man... Its based upon MIUI

It seems to depends on the theme. Also, almost everything's in Chinese. I like it a lot after a few edits, now I just gotta get media controls on the lock screen.

Yes the.lock screen is pretty horrible. For now I have just disabled it completely and I think I'll keep it that way for a while pretty nice

Mine works just fine.....if your talking about the actually locks, you can long press on the locks and resize them. you have to be in widget locker to do it, you can't just do it from the lock screen.
so go to app drawer and open widget locker, long press on lock, resize
Im not a huge fan of alot of stuff on my lock or home screen, so for me the great alternative lock for me was sign2unlock.

The good thing about Widgetlocker is that it can be tweaked to have as little (or as much) as someone wants.

Best looking android apps?

I've started looking around for really nice looking apps. Ultralinx has shown me some and http://androidniceties.tumblr.com/ has too. What are some other apps you guys know about that look really good?
I have market application on my android Phone...........With the help of this I am able to get all my favorite games on mobile.......I have download so many games Like Angry Bird Or bubble Trouble...I like the game angry Bird so much...........I have cleared all the rounds of this game and This is really an adventure game for me...................I really enjoying playing this game so much..........
Kind of a silly question - everyone has their own tastes. And do you want said apps to do? You just gonna get the to look at em?
The dead: Chapter one is a good looking, high quality, android game. It's still in the development stages but it looks promising.

I like the look of SoundHound. Plus it is extremely useful.
IMDB's app is great
and that's all ive got. There are a few apps that are dependant on the user to look good. Like minimalistic text and Widget Locker, for example.
Fancy widgets
this is the best clock and whether widget, with a lot of skins.

Functionality, in my opinion is more important than looks but its a plus havn premium looking UI to match the func.

Why such a craze about clock widgets?

I have never understood the craze about giant clock widgets. It seems to me that if there is already a perfectly working clock in your status bar, you would not need to have a huge widget taking up half your screen to have the same function. It would be like having a gigantic 4x4 gmail icon when right next to it you have a normal gmail shortcut in your launcher.
For me, it's a decorative piece on the board. Even though it does take up a fourth of the screen, there's really nothing that it's covering, except the background, and that's already covered up to an extent by the calendar widget. It also acts as a shortcut to the alarm clock, which is really handy.
Big clock is for when your on the the homescreen, and little on is when you're in apps. That's how it is for me
I also have nothing better to put there, and and I don't want my phone to look like an IPhone

Probably the same reason you have android for customization ....in that case why have a android? It makes calls .just get a old flip phone it makes calls.too.
i like the simple clean looking clock - similar to an ics style
dont like huge weather or clocks as i like to see the wallpaper behind
1) i hide my status bar (coz i can), so it helps having clock and date there instantaneously. A little needless i agree but what the hay
2) it looks nice and adds something to my desktop

It is. A agenda widget is way more useful. Also power widget (if you dont have it in the statusbar) is necessary. The power widget alone makes my friends regret they bought iPhones.
Ps: I still use the useless clock widget. Allways
