Расслабься, ничего другого от них ожидать и не следовало.:d
The mini is low on SE's list of priorities IMO and I doubt it will be updated in the next week. Please, don't take this as trolling; I'm only saying it because according to the PTCRB (certification service for UMTS/GSM products) website, the 2.1 update hasn't even been certified yet.
http://www.ptcrb.com/ctiastaff/complete/view_complete_request.cfm?modelid=17439
http://www.ptcrb.com/ctiastaff/complete/view_complete_request.cfm?modelid=17438
Of course it could use other certifications, but I doubt it.
... do you wanna kill me? phew..................... change the topic right now !!!!!
I'm hoping it's only an oversight my friend and SE decide to use the one standard firmware for both the x10 mini pro (which has been certified) and the x10 mini. It may well be that PTCRB haven't updated their website, that's all
peace
it's unthinkable that SE gives x10 mini pro and doesn't x10 mini... they're the same firmware, that's all
All in all it is not the problem of having or not having 2.1, it is all about the way SE is handling the whole situation. In the beginning it was Q4, then it became Q3, then it was end of September, then it was end of October, now they say middle of November.
They should have sticked to their original Q4 announcement, and nobody would have complained. But this erratic and spontaneous change of deadlines is demonstrating to the outside world that SE is having deep inside problems like with project management, marketing and public relations, as well as inter-departamental coordination.
This, and not the delays makes me doubt the SE future.

Huh? That link gives a quote of "A couple of more weeks" from the S.E. blog as proof that it's now going to be mid November, yet the link was the one posted in September saying that the release will be the end of October.

Delay is for sure , hope they give us a better JIT enabled ROM and btw where the hell are custom ROM's? nobody working towards that?
I agree it would be nice if they updated early. Yesterday we went into T-mobile Hungary due to my wife's x10 mini pro suffering from extreme lag, and they refreshed the software on it, but the guy said it will be a slightly different version. That peaked my curiosity, then he said it's still 1.6 just a newer build than what was shipped with the phones. He also mentioned that 2.x is coming before Christmas, but they expect it near the end of October.
So just a tip, if anyone is experiencing lag, and is under warranty, consider asking for a refresh on the phone. Wife said she noticed one or two minor changes, but mainly its a lot quicker than before.

I will believe that when I see it.
No offence to you, but with SE promising Eclair in September, and then said October, and SE France and Brail saying November, Im not holding out for a date/month any more

At first, I couldn't tell why the seniors all harp on this issue instead of ignoring it...
I've been with an x10a and a Captivate for about 3 weeks now, and I already get it. Let me take a shot at part of the problem?

I feel like I was mislead when I bought this phone. Wonderful hardware, embarrassing software development.
I have pre ordred my first HTC, for work, the new Desire HD...
My X10 can then be a spare phone...:-\
And lets face it, as i am the one buying phones at my work, i do need to try out other manufactors some time...
SE have f+*&%# with the users one time too many now...!
Send from my X10, still without 2.1 *&%#
Hopefully the Desire HD isn't locked down like the US T-Mobile's G2.

Perhaps it is locked down, i have read that it do have hardware lock in fact...
But then again, if it have the most current Android OS out of the box, then no problem...
Surely this would be a big FU in SE face if they managed it before the proper update probably wouldn't have mattered before but after the past weeks eagerness and then the usual bombshell from SE I think it would be great lol

To be honest I think it's what they deserve.
From a marketing point of view, they are ****ed.
I too would love to see this happen
They ****ed us on the X1 and blamed HTC. Made big promises for the X2, we got ****ed even harder then. Now the X10!
Well at least my X10 is functional, not like the X2 I had before this. That was a pile of crap, a beautiful pile of crap... but still crap!
Yeah, hopefully someone cracks the bootloader soon!
This is my first SE phone (X10) since the old SE phones.. My question is.. Why do people like to continue getting EFF'd by Sony from X1 to X2 to X10?!??!
I learned my lesson after the X10.. Last time I ever give in to the brand, without doing my research first.
Sony Ericsson is playing there cards wrong. And, as a result? Lost MANY Potential and "loyal" customers from before.
Good thing i'm not on a contract with this phone!!
I would rather wait for the bootloader to be cracked by the devs anyway, they can take the updates and get better drivers other than that I think we would probably have to wait till october 2011 for froyo alone by SE. But by then I would of sold my phone for scrap metal and got an HTC ^^

Same goes for me, i would wait for the devs, what they do in there spare time for us is beyond anything that the SE devs can do in bringing us the best/newest firmware for the X10. Oh and as for 2011 for froyo that wont happen, i forgot where i read it but SE has said somewhere that 2.1 is the last firmware for the X10 series phones. If however we are able to get froyo as an update, SE would most likely cripple it again like they are doing to eclair as we speak and take out all the new features that comes with the update and only give us the number that shows up before the firmware version.

The x1 was by far one of my favourite phones I've ever used, only after using cooked ROMS from xda, I can see the x10 being one of the best Android based phones but only when it gets the same xda treatment.

There's no certainty that we will ever get a cracked bootloader, from SE's perspective; they don't have to stop the bootloader getting cracked forever, just 6~12 months by which time the phone will superseded by newer models and people will loose interest in cracking it as they move on to newer phones. If you look at the dev thread signatures you will see that a lot of them have already got newer devices. What do you think are the chances of them getting another X10 if one gets bricked? Natural attrition will eat away at our dev community unless a hack is found SOON and a homebrew scene springs up around the X10. It's not like X10 is an Apple product and cracking it will get you media attention / notoriety.
I'm sticking with my X10 for now, but I'm not optimistic.
My 2c.
yeah if its happen all x10 users will respect xda devz
All we can do is hope that we get a cracked 2.2

i think it wont be so fast till they crack the bootloader, there is very slow progress or none,i hope things will change when 2,1 comes out, maybe things will get easier..

They should already respect them for how hard they work and how many hours they put into this!
I doubt I'm going to get another SE phone after this.
I'm planning on jumping onto the HTC Desire HD bandwagon.. But I'll still have to wait atleast a year to save up enough money to afford it (University is killing me in loans).. Till then.. I'm stuck with this piece of ****!
Is anyone actually working on it though?

OK the end of December is approaching.
What is thye next upgrade and when is it due? Quarter 1 of 2011?
Thats what sony ericsson say and amongst other undocumented things it brings multitouch to the device
BE specyfic please!!!
What???
so gonna be 2 update
Can you give as a link please
I not gonna believed as long as XDA give as or PPC give me a notification!!!
I am not trusting Se at all !!
Lol its old news.

the next update will be due 1Q 2011, by 1Q 2011 SE probably means end of march. They also said that MOST OF THE PHONES will be getting it by 1Q 2011. the next update will basically be a UXP upgrade and of course the dual/multi touch. from what I remember, if i remember it right, the next upgrade will supposedly change the timescape widget, it will also now offer landscape mode among other things. and the general speed improvement.
it is nice to hear that.. i think x10 family would not be able to see gingerbread, com'on SE you are way far behind other brands..
Official update on Xperia X10 to Gingerbread
Now I like my phone

As you can see in the above text,we have an official announecement from the SE. Well, what a nice way to start a day
I'm actually shocked. And very pleased. Glad I stuck with my phone
FroYo is good, but Gingerbread is better.
Wowww.....Oh mY God..So Happy...Thank SE..hahaha..Now we love SE..
If it is true would be great.

sounds good, but they´ll delay it and then postpone it to q4! by then every other phone will have os 2.4, so were always gonna be behind!!
Not believing anything until i see it for myself!
Woohoo! Thats nice news
but still it is a great step forward since the "no update beyond 2.1" statement. Well,at least we know that they are reading the forums
What it means by this "DRM keys for protected content on your phone will be lost in the upgrade process." Bootloader will be opened??
Ok, I'm fell like a clown 2 times now...
awesome ,, gr8 news
But why its going to be in Q3 ??
That was the dumbest part ..
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
nope. They mean DRM protected audio and video
Late q2/early q3 woohoo! Hopefully they just set expectations later but truly get it sooner. Any word on bootloader?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
even if they postpone it, this is still good news. i'm now contemplating on whether i should hold on to my x10 a little longer or upgrade to one of their new line of products coming out next month...
LMAO by quarter 3 I will be preparing to upgrade.
I think it is more a case of too little too late.
SE have stated internally that bootloaders will be unlocked for future phones.
If this includes newer phones as arc, neo and play is let aside atm since I
havent got this part confirmed.
But according to some guys, this unlocking part might apply for all models in
a future upgrade. Still slightly fuzzy expression but yes, SE will stop locking
phones. Hope this will apply for all current models also.
Anyhow, grats to all who gets GB
Finally SE listen!!! Didnt expect this from them but i am happy!!! pleasantly surprised as well
woohhoohoow!!! Good news, but q3...
Much to late... Noone needs it by Q3
