I have the T-Mobile ROM 1.60 currently installed on my I-Mate. Now I am trying to install the latest I-Mate update, I keep getting Country ID Error 120. Anyone know a solution? It seems we need some kind of AdaptROM...
The same for me yesterday ERROR 120, I try anyway but no results
I think that new ROM only for I- mate Device with special IMEI Number
Any ideas? :?:
I upgrade to i-mate update and I try to upgrade to T-Mobile I get the same error!!
anyone can help?
try to hard way...
unzip the ruu15283wwe_cdl.exe file,
you'll find there the *.nbf files.
Use the files to flash with SD card.
I'm not sure if this also works with the XDA II, but try XDATools:

It seems not possible by writing just writing the nbf to SD card and flash to the XDA 2 anymore.
Because the bootloader will check the first 412 bytes (i believe it is the code on the last line of the 412 bytes, somthing like HTCSA00400000XXXXXXXX.............) of the rom on the SD card match with your machine or not. Therefore without any modification, only the ROM dump from the Machine itself can be flashed.
Moreover, nbf is encoded, you can't just edit it by HEX editor, you have to get the rom in nb1 format.
I think XDA developers have to develop new tools to
1. Get the first 412 byte of the rom from your machine in an easier way. Now we have to use Multiport / USB TTY get into bootloader console, dump the rom to SD card , and use ntrw read the SD Raw data to the computer to get this 412 byte. You need a HEX Editor to do so. (Please correct me if I said something wrong).
We can
a) develop an APP to get the 412bytes from SD to harddisk without using a HEX editor
b) directly read this 412 bytes from the XDA2 if possible.
2. A Rom tools that can add your machine's own first 412bytes (or the code) , combine it with a .nb1 or .nbf and write it to a SD card.
By the way , I think a new adoptrom support XDA2 will be the best solution 8)
note added by itsme: this will very likely break your devie!! - better look at sdtool
same problem
i'm having the same problem, installed imate update, now i cant install the t-mobile update.
nobody seems to know how to fix this
HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPPPP
try this
Hi,
another idea...
try to unzip (using winrar i.e.) the file ruu15283wwe_cdl.exe,
and run the HimaUpgradeUt.exe
It might work!
I got error, the device is not connected, or something like that, while trying to use the original file, but with the HimaUpgradeUt it works!

When i press the next button in the setup it says " cannot execute the remote communication prgram. please make sure that USB/Serial is properly connected". and the setup shuts down.
i Need You to know that before the new rom i downloaded from lumpistefan i was using pocket pc 2002 on my pocket pc.

Please somebody helps me i really need to know how to solve the problem.
Regards, and thank you.
Try searching the forum.
It´s an old problem copncerning to some T-Mobile ROMs
You have to flash your device via SD-Card....
Try also some looking in the wiki. The process how to flash vi SD-Card is there described...
And please do not post multiple threads with the same topic....

ROM Upgrade communication error
Yeah I am having the same problem after installing the T-Mobile ROM, the same communication error when I try and change the installed ROM Image.
I did think it was something wrong with ActiveSync or my laptop
Has anyone got any hints on how to do this on a Wannaby? (Saves me getting the wrong idea whilst reading through reams of text).
Many Thanks

Hmm doesnt work for me. I am selecting the browse button to select the nbf file from the image and in the second drop down box selecting the sd card. When I press copy it comes up with the error ITWriteSDCard: The media is write protected, error opening target device. The card isnt locked as I can read and write files to it using explorer. Whats going on?!?!
Growing frustration!!!

Some internal SD-Card Writer make problems. i Think you can use also the SD-Card-Slot in your devuce, or you have to get an external Writer...
Stefan
Im write small programm to unlock and unhide extended rom partition on Gene.
DO NOT USE IT ON OTHER DEVICES
USE IT ON OWN RISK
Copy programm on your Gene and run it.
After the message on success reboot your device.
You will have folder Extended_Rom2 in which it is possible to copy
files and which will be will remain at hard reset.
Total space in ExtRom - 10 MB.
hoho,thank U!
Good Job, trying it now
Thanks a lot

Turn off your Gene
Hold both the softkeys and press the power button. Do not let go of the softkeys until you see a text prompt that says everything will be deleted, now get rid of the softkeys and press the call button.
@oreklov:
Thanks a million. Worked for me, like krazy got a Z card. The box which appeared, though had "Error" in title bar . But the content of the box was "Successful" and hey it was .
Thanks buddy

Contact jockyw2001 through PM. But do understand that he charges for it. Its not a free service. You send him what he wants, he gives you a quotation, you submit the money and get your code. This is not some sort of duping, this guy is genuine.
So, if you got the bucks, go ahead.
Hi All,
Thank you for such a great forum. I tried to read as much as I can but still unable to solve the problem which I am facing currently.
I had a T Mobile MDA (HTC Wallaby) with the German Language. I tried to install a new ROM but after few seconds of connecting with the PC, the connection was broken and the computer doesnt
recognize the PDA. The only message i see in the screen is
WALLABY
Bootlader
V5.22
GSM OK
my Base ROM is 4.00.33 GER
I tried to cook the ROM with this base ROM and tried the steps ( Flashing with a SD card). I also downloaded the XDA tools and tried to run OSImagetool. Then chose the source file as the one
i downloaded with .nb1 extension. the chose SD card as the destination but i get this error message
"error opening device \\.\PhysicalDrive1 for writing: Access is denied.
error opening target device"
Please help me how i can restore the XDA to its original setting. I have already spend about 4 hours on this but cant get any further
ps. solved the problem.
had to use another Laptop.

hi! to all,
I have the same problem as OlDirty89 in this closed thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=810441
except my French network provider is SFR ... so, in order to apply the solution I need an official SFR ROM
A] I scrolled the site ... unsucessfully
B] I Googled and found ... dead links
C] I ended up with a link to a .RAR file containing a RUU_signed.nbh supposed to be the official SFR ROM - nothing else was included ... I downloaded it
it could be what I'm looking for because my device agrees to load it (when it says "not allow" to all other ROMs)
BUT it remains for hours with this nice grey screen and that pretty blue "Loading..."
SO ... my 2 questions:
1) what do I do wrong? I really do believe I follow the step by step procedure
* rename the RUU_signed.nbh as LEOIMG.nbh
* copy it onto my SD card (FAT32 format) AND insert the SD card in the HD2 (of course)
* start the HD2 while pressing Volume down
* release Volume down when in Bootloader (3 colors screen)
* last but not least: pray & wait
2) can someone provide me with a link (or a hint) to an official SFR ROM that could work?
I would appreciate the .EXE file from which I'll extract the RUU_signed.nbh myself
thank you for the time spent reading me and thank you in advance for your answers
best regards
Laurent

You must flash the rom and language that your phone had when you bought it.
That means oldest rom of your language.
thank you again for your efforts souvath ... it leads to the same MediaFire download as the previous one
thank you too for your advice NIKOSXRI ... this is exactly what I'm looking for
I searched a lot about my problem
sounds to me like the only try I haven't done is to use an old 1GB microSD
I've read here and there that sometimes the 2GB cards (and above) may cause troubles
I'll try this too and will keep you all posted
