[Q] Removing Launcher on 2.1 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I know its short after the 2.1 release, but did someone manage to remove the current launcher from the device?
Currently installed Launcher Pro and its running more smoother than the stock launcher.
Tried to find the launcher with Rootexplorer, but it seems it got replaced in a different folder or maybe renamed.

I removed most of the crap using titanium backup
Worked a treat - give it a try.

the are 2 files that may match
/data/data/com.android.launcher <- main launcher?
/data/data/com.sony.uwlop.launcher <- timescape launcher?

How can we remove the Chinese/...-Keyboards?
I can't find them with Titanium.

Stock app backup NEEDED!!!

I recently flashed to the gingerblur ROM on my Atrix, and somehow, my "Home" app has been replaced with the gingerbread launcher. So I'm looking for a backup of the BlurHome.apk app that came preloaded. So if someone could upload an apk, or a titanium backup folder or any other backup that would be super helpful. Thanks in advance.
down load gladatrix no theme and use the apk inside that http://goo.gl/zyLBA

It's not somehow, that's what it was supposed to do. GingerBlur is Gingerbread theme based.
You could try Launcher Pro and get some added functionality. Like custom docks, custom icons in docks.
Alternatively you could download the 1.26 sbf file and start over. I know its the long route but if you are doing anything with these roms it is probably a good idea to have that around in case anything goes horribly wrong.

Go into the gingerblur thread again, there is a file called gingerblur bloat restorer. Delete everything other than the ones you want and install it..

[Q] How can i undelete radio fm apps?

Hi
Today I deleted by mistake RadioFM application
Is any way to undeleted this apps without re-installing original software?
or maybe u can send me this apps? all application is in
/system/app folder.
Best regards!
PS i'm using RadioFM application in polish language, and I would be grateful for radioFM appz in my country language.
my android is 2.1 version (original software)
hi, i have the same problem (not in polish )
did you get a solution?
Here you go. This is the Radio.apk from the stock 2.1 rom. Provided your phone is set to Polish, this should be in Polish as well as it has several different languages built into it.

do you know if this one works if i'm running on a custom ROM (gingerdx pro)
Not sure. Try it and see what happens.

it didn't work
I copied it to system/app using root explorer, run the installer and everytime I opened it crashed before loading
anyway, thank you for your help
It could well be that it doesn't work on Gingerbread. :-(
Try just installing it without moving it to system/apps though. That might be what the problem is. Worth a shot.

already tried it

[Q] Which Rom for newest Swype beta?

Hey there,
coming from the nexus one the TW things (dialer und contacts) are a welcome feature, but the bundled swype sucks, because you cannot install the newest beta versions which are much much better (Especially for german users, because of the umlauts)!
So i am looking for a STABLE Rom with Android 2.3.6 or 2.3.7 where swype is not included or can be easily uninstalled!
Any suggestions?
Best regards!
Any rom, you can use root explorer to delete the swype.apk from system/app if included. Just choose a rom from the vast selection. Then you can install swype beta.

There are a bunch of threads around that describe what you need to do and I have done it myself in the recent past. Freezing with Titanium Backup was the way I did it, I think.
Have a search around - you can most certainly do it if you invest a little time and effort...
Freezing didnt work!
But deinstalled with titanium backup, rebooted - installed again and then it worked!
thanks for the help!

[Q] Replacing touchwiz calendar with google stock in ics LPQ

Hi guys,
is there a way to replace the touchwiz calendar app (widget included) with the original ics stuff? Samsung really did a mess in this respect, I definitely prefer the ics version, more flexible and business oriented.
I tried to intall the calendar.apk but the system folder is read only and I cant do it. Also, do I need to install something else or this file is enough?
I searched the threads but the latest news are a little bit old, 2010.
Anybody have the same wish? I am running now the latest LPQ ics for sgs2, rooted.
Get an app that is like Root Explorer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wiY29tLnNwZWVkc29mdHdhcmUucm9vdGV4cGxvcmVyIl0.
that is a paid app but there are free ones that do the same job.
Inside Root Explorer there is a toggle to mount the system as R/W or R/O just swap it over and you can move the apk to the /system folder.
ps.R/W means read/write and R/O means read/only. Should of said that before.

[Q] Nova Prime Launcher as a System App

Are there any benefits of converting nova launcher into a system app?
Does it make it faster? More Stability?
Inputs would be highly appreciated..
Meh, doesn't really make a difference. ROM cooks usually puts it in /system if they're using it as the main ROM launcher, but there aren't any advantages for a normal user. You can do it if you want to, though

Just download a new launcher (Nova, Apex or whatever you prefer), delete the stock Sony launcher from system/app, and you're done. No cooking is needed, but you'll need root.
Thank you very much , You're a star ,I am glad i don;t have to go to the kitchen
restart
If you do get rid of the stock launcher and u put lets say the google kitkat launcher google placed on the play store in the /system app folder and u need to reseat the device would the os install the launcher in the app folder or would it not touch it so when it starts up there is no user face, and if so how can u put aosp launcher back onto it and where would u find the launcher?
