I am from Quebec, Canada on Rogers Wireless.
I've updated this Afternoon. Okay cool but my 3G is a little laggy.
All Rogers internet setting is ok, all is working good but it's laggy with this switch, compare to 1.6..
What about you guyz? Laggy too ? Cool the H is now detected by our X10 but that lag suck.
I suppose the Rogers version of 2.1 will correct this.. or maybe in the next version..

Well,
"E" is Edge, which is sort of "2.5G" (around 200kb/s, iirc).
And "H" means "HSPA" which stands for "High Speed Packet Access", HSPA is an improved version of the standard 3G (UMTS) connection and can offer speed of up to 11Mb/s on the X10.
Seems like it wasn't supported on 1.6
I thought it just didn't display the H. I always had H with my Touch Diamond. I have never seen an H on my X10!!!! Is there something wrong with my x10 or settings?
I'm getting the H too, and funny thing is that HSPA is not avaliable in Brazil yet.
Huh? Vodafone supports the H and I always had it. Anybody any idea what settings to check?
Yeah the H is a 3G+ ... But my problem here is not the letter but the irregular internet works

the H is 3G. some phones used to show the H symbol while uploading/downloading like the X1 XPERIA. HSPA+ is something else. right now as far as i know, the Rogers HSPA+ RocketSticks are the only devices using the HSPA+ 21Mbps speeds in Canada. The X10 is only HSPA which downloads up to 7.2Mbps. The "H" doesn't mean that you're downloading any faster (or slower) than before.
Hi, I have the same problem. Sometimes it says H, sometimes 3G.. I noticed than when it says 3g, internet doesn't work and when it changes to h it works

I got that after the 2.1 install as well. Go to Settings and then click the first option, Sony Ericsson and then download settings. And remember, with 2.1(I think) 3G is disabled when wifi is turned on!
you need to manually input your devices APN settings since it is a nordic version of 2.1, it won't have the Rogers settings built-in, nor will it be able to download it from the network.
Go to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names -> Press the Menu button -> Tap New APN -> and input the following settings:
Name: Rogers
APN: rogers-core-appl1.apn
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS Port: 80
and leave the rest of the settings alone.
Press the Menu button and tap Save.
Data should be working after this.
I had the same issue yesterday but today in the morning i just re flash my X10 with the Global World Firmware from the post named: "X10 Flash 2.1 Final + Global World Firmware" (Sorry i can´t attach the link, my account is new and it´s giving me an error) ...My Internet Connection from Claro Guatemala is working like a charm even though my X10 shows the H...

Yeah as azian says right, this is the Rogers data setting.
But, I suggest all of you before updating 2.1 Nordic, do a backup of your system settings (With Restore and recovery program)

So I got 2.1 on my x10a with the global firmware. At the beginning everything was working well. Then i installed extended widgets then turned on the 3G with the widget. Now 3G "mobile networks" does not work.
Anyone have any solutions?

Are you sure it's not working, does your notification bar show 'H' symbol only?
I see you are with Rogers, did you re-add the Rogers APN when you updated?
If not go to Settings > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names then press the Menu button and then Add New APN.
This is what should be filled in, everything else should be left be:

That one did work for me when I installed the 2.1 Nordic on Monday....
3G Problem
I am a 3G user as well and after updating to 2.1 the 3G icon constantly switches to H but immediately switches back after about 5 seconds. This has not happened before and I am confused since my carrier does not provide HSPDA...
I have x10a originally from rogers network now unlocked and debranded to x10a north america. rite now i am using it on mobilicity network the phone works fine but data only run on edge not 3g and it is showing roaming icon as well. i did setup apn settings to mobilicity. Any one also having this issue ? is there a way to fix this issue?
I am running Generic 2.1 on AT&T and I have no 3G after the 2.1 upgrade. What do I do to get it back?
Your rogers x10a has different 3g frequencies than the one used by mobilicity, therefore, you will not get 3g unless you get a x10i model.

same with me ..but i m only able to make n receive call..cant even get edge...how r u gettin edge..
as mobilicity provides 3g...
You cant use the x10a with mobilicity data
it shows up as edge because it is roaming on the Rogers network
U need the x10i which has the correct frequency for the data.
I tried to download that settings automatically , but Airtel has sent a msg that the service is not enabled for your phone.!!!! why is it so.???

Please give the gprs settings of Airtel for Lg p500.
Until you have gprs activated, you can't use the net. So go to ccc and buy a package of 99 rs for 2gb and tell them to activate gprs. They will activate it. For settings you just need apn. Either google or they will give you.

as far as I know, you get the setting as soon as you insert the sim. is your sim card very old?
try going to settings/wireless & networks/mobile network/access point names.
in here se e if there are any entry called airtel internet. if it is there then select it. once done, internet will start working.

u didnt need proxy n port......if u insert proxy nd port u cant open any application

Yes, you first need to activate airtel GPRS services.
Ask the customer care, they will activate it within 24 hours and then you can order your settings and save them. Manually entering the settings won't help you untill you have GPRS enabled in your new activated sim card

Same is with other providers like Airtel. They are also giving free 3g to old 2g customers.
BTW: you can send MO to 543210 to get Airtel mobile office settings. (tollfree) If the internet pack is not activated, it will be activated too.
It was the same with me.. I activated the 65Rs GPRS pack .. And the speeds were 3g. They might getto know and change it if u use excecively.. Use 3g when necessary. It drains battery alot. I need to charge it every 20hs or so.

I am using it from last 2 months 2gb is enough for a month to use with 3g. I am not trying to abuse the system
I have received the gprs settings(airtel), but my phone is asking for PIN to install it..what to do ?
Go to settings-- wireless&network --mobile network --accesspoint -- create new apn--put any name --second option apn name put airtelgprs.com (mobile office) ,(for airtel live -it is airtelfun.com) and press save..and ensure u tick that option for use after saving ...works perfectly ;-)

Received a unit yesterday, I had ordered via eBay. Works perfectly on both 3G and HSDPA. No problems with either voice or data.
Since I haven't been able to activate the phone via Sprint:
1. It tries to connect to Sprint each time I boot it. I need to then make changes to network settings so that it can log on to the local GSM networks.
2. Each time I send a text message, it reminds me I might incur international roaming charges.
Rest is super.

What setting? The only setting I change is from 2g to 3g when I'm at home I get Edge but when I'm at work (Philadelphia international airport) I get H and it very fast WTH going on!

* Cellular Settings --> highest connection speed to 3G (was set to LTE). Without this, SMS and MMS have a variety of oddities such as limiting to 70 characters, not operating reliably, etc.
* Set Internet APN
APN --> epc.tmobile.com (all other fields blank)
* Set MMS APN
APN --> epc.tmobile.com
MMSC URL --> http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMSC port --> 80
Max MMS size --> 1024
all other fields blank
I already am using the settings you mentioned and I get a 4G icon on top.
But the internet is really slow. Download speed is less than .1 Mbps.
I am not sure whats going on even with a 4G icon.

I found out the problem.
Internet seems to be down slow in my area due to some tmobile maintenance.
I just drove away from where I live and did a speed test at bandwidthplace.com
I got nearly 30mbps with Lte and almost 10 Mbps with 3G.
Is there a way to get text messaging working with Lte?

You know that T-Mobile USA does not currently have LTE right?
yes, I know that but I get higher speeds if the connection is set to LTE.

I have my Lumia 920 unlocked from Rogers and having problem with MMS. I cant send or receive MMS. I tried more settings but no luck. I was able once, send MMS but couldn't receive.
Also, if i changed my Internet APN from epc.tmobile.com to internet2.voicestream.com, my internet speed almost doubled !!!
Anyway, my nigest concern is MMS. is anybody have idea, how to mak it work ?

Ok, here is my problem now:
after 1308 update, Internet sharing worked great on my Rogers unlocked 920 running T-mob
But, MMS stoped working. At that point i reactivated T-mobile access point , and MMS started working again .... but, i have no internet sharing again ((
It's always taking me to T-mob web site and pay for service, which i already have
Now .....
i did try "Spanish keyboard trick" and after that, tethering (internet sharing) worked.
But, no MMS again. It looks like settings used in "Spanish mode" use different values for Access point settings.
If i could manually add access point with MMS settings and internet settings, that would be great.
Ill try call T-mob and ask for it, but it's small chance, ill get it ;(
Anybody can help in here ?

ok, two things you have to know:
1, you will have to change your speed connection to 3G (sometimes dont work with LTE)
2, Delete all access points, restart your phone.
then, manually set this:
* Set Internet APN
APN --> epc.tmobile.com (all other fields blank)
* Set MMS APN
