Our main goal is to port the HTC Sense to all non-sense devices.
Developers currently:
- Whosdaman
Kernel DEVs
- IN NEED
APKs Modifiers
- IN NEED
ROMs Porters
- Captainkrtek
Anyone else want in? We are in need of developers for the Fascinate. If you wish to join in let me know and I'll be more then glad to fill you in. It's a closed project, but will be public to everyone once we get it ready.
UPDATE: We will be basing the ROM port off of the Desire Z for all devices over the Desire HD due to landscape support in sense, keyboard support for Epic, new sense, and overall performance.

DANG it.....
wholy crap I would love to see this.
Great news. Added the two posts you requested. Why would you not use irc.freenode.net though ? It's where #xda-devs, the mod channel, etc are also located. And I know some of the members you mentioned in the post already hang there
I know , I am klined on freenode....im in the process of getting unbanned right now though. So soon as I am, we will switch.
Thanks Chain
IncredibleDoes would be a good person to contact. He's a beast at porting ROMs, especially Sense ones.

No, but he has a Port Patcher that in theory can help port ROMs to any device. Even if he can't test himself, I'm sure he'd have some good insight for you.

Hope this works out but after owning my droid and seeing many try to port sense to a non htc device i will not get my hopes up. But you get it running smooth and as a daily driver i will donate.
Donated and would love to beta test.

Alright guys, I think its time this device has a solid team of testers and developers alike so I'm looking for any developers interested in joining. What kind of devs do we need? Well, we need Java and ROM developers and I was also hoping globatron would be willing to join (I'm sure you can agree globatron, its easier to have stuff tested by a closed group that's on Irc or something and know what they are doing) I'm sure you all are thinking "hey, you said testers too!" Yes I did, I want 2 people for each device but you must be power users. No stupid questions should be asked and you must be proficient with adb and fastboot.
Just post below mentioning what you want to join as and I'll let you know. So far we have gumby as another rom Dev and moneymike55 as our themer.
Members:
moneymike55 - themer (evo view)
Gumby63 - rom developer (flyer)
Indirect - Rom developer/general developer (view/flyer)
Truthkillszz - Tester (evo view)
mcord11758 - Tester (HTC Flyer Wifi Only)
kaijura - Tester until further investigation (View)
DigitalMD - Coder
AidenM - General dev / tester (Wifi Flyer)
newalker91 - Kernel Dev (View)
vlara - General dev (unknown)
Sent aboard the Evo Express
I would like to join as a tester. I have been rooting my phones and using adb , fastboot since G1 days lol. I have had 8 different phones which I rooted all since I got them and the view is my 4th tablet which I rooted all also. I am new to the view but I am dying to help ramp up the dev scene for this device.
Tester for the team means you get alpha / beta tests btw everyone. Also, you're in truthkillszz.
Sent aboard the Evo Express
I could be a tester/partial ROM modifier, can't exactly modify code that well but know my way around android. Perhaps you could also PM globatron about this?
Edit: Flyer wifi.
Skills: extract/modify/reinstall system apks, tinkering with android files, stuff like that.
I have already pm'd globatron. I'm hoping he's interestedm

I can be a tester. I consider myself a power user. Have been on android since the G1 and know my way around adb and fastboot.
If you guys are going to be a tester, I need to know your device (View or Flyer [3g or Wifi only for flyer])
I am a best buy WiFi flyer
Sent from my HTC Flyer P510e using xda premium
I can give a hand out with is needed. I consider myself to be a general user, kang'er, and someone who likes to poke around with the system apk's. Using the HTC Express/View here.
I can help out with Java or C++ code or other Android ROM work , depending on what you are building. My time is somewhat limited depending on my everyday job.
Glad to see we actually have a coder now! DigitalMD, I would like you to be the general coder for us. Are you interested?
I have the best buy wifi only flyer.
I'll test for the US Wifi Only. I can also do small mods. Nothing big, as I'm not an experienced dev at all, but I would love to help if you need it.
If you need it, I can test. BB WiFi Flyer.
I see a few people have offered, so if you have enough testers already, you can tell me. My feelings will remain intact.

And received. Frankly, I don't know if I have the time to do justice to a team effort. I'll consider it over the weekend and let you know on Monday or Tuesday.
It would mean alot if you joined globatron, you're probably one of the better (best) devs in this community and it would be great to work with you as well as help us make the community a bit more dev friendly. Anyway, thanks for atleast considering it. If you ever need anything, feel free to let me know regardless.

Ok so I have a spare 3d sitting around and came across this article saying that they have a kernel that allows monitor mode/ packet injection on the Nexus One, the GSII and possibly the OG Evo. I believe you have to compile the kernel yourself and it only works with AOSP roms. They have just updated the firmware for this kernel to work with the bcm4329 WiFi chipset that is in our phones. Is this in our near future? Is someone (kernel dev) looking into this? My friend is working to compile his on his SIII. l would attempt it but I have no linux knowledge, no pc, and no idea of what I'm doing or where to start. Any feedback, questions, comments would be appreciated

May want to consider just linking to each thread. Not only for support reasons, but also to remove the need for you to keep your zip files up to date. Also, I'm not sure about others, but since I maintain multiple devices I track the download count to see interest and if I need to keep supporting those particular devices. Mirrors hurt those numbers. This idea is very helpful though, thanks

Some of these ROMs aren't available anymore or the links are hard(er) to find. I had forgotten to reserve a post but I will look up the links and post them in an edit. Thanks for the encouragement without being rude or mean. Need more people like you in these forums.
Suggestion
j32854, while your intentions are noble, I'd prefer links to my threads rather than mirrored uploads of the roms for both reasons listed by TheBr0ken
I think it's a great idea however to have a thread set up with a link to all of the roms and threads available to our device and will make it much simpler for users to find exactly what they're looking for! Kind of a "aroma style pick your rom" if you will.
May I suggest a format that I feel would be best? You could make it similar to the following with linkable titles directing users to the appropriate threads:
Kernels:
ics
sense
link1
link2
link3
etc
aosp
link1
link2
link3
jb 4.2
aosp
link1
link2
link3
jb 4.3
aosp
link1
link2
link3
Roms:
(follow around the pattern listed above).
For firmware no longer available anywhere on XDA and part of your collection, you will need to try and contact the original author of the rom/kernel/mod/script and ask for permission to host it for users.
Not only are you helping users out, but you would be helping the developers also in making their work more readily available to the community.
Thanks for taking the initiative to help out!
-Neo
EDIT: Also, this probably belongs in either the Rezound General or the Rezound Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting section as a GUIDE.
Your fellow neighborhood mod would be happy to assist with either moving it or instructing you where the thread should be created
@IAmTheOneTheyCallNeo
I think his intents/purpose was to make those roms that the link were dead to bring them back active again. Speaking of which. I don't mind having a mirror, although very rarely RARELY does my host go down for maintenance.

Whatever the intent, I know it was for the benefit of our community which isn't being challenged here.
Edit: fyi, all 4 aosp roms mirrored are easily still available in the development threads

My only concern would be the lack of permission from devs, I'd ask for permission from a dev before mirroring their work. There are some out there that no longer want their work linked at XDA for example.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
Who is Team Carbon?

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

While I won't say it's strictly required, I will say it's 1000% recommended, and failure to do so will leave your phone in a very broken (but fixable, if you know how) state.

p.s thanks for the hard work
After two months of waiting, I was expecting more from Carbon team.
Compared to other kk ROMs, it has much less features...
Compared with November Carbon builds, it feels like it is not... Carbon.
Sorry, this is my opinion...
