Just wondering if anyone else has tried it? I downloaded installed it today & it looks really impressive with lots of future potential it lets you load & run apk files and simulates the android UI on your desktop! It compared itself to the developers SDK tool but faster and user friendly. I can't post links but I'd be thankful if anyone else that finds it interesting to post a link

Is it possible to load our data files from our phone to continue with saved progress in games, etc.?
Currently, it is not possible to sync data file from your phone to the apps running on YouWave. Such features are definitely under our consideration.

Yes YouWave is amazing Android Emulator software but not as good as Bluestacks, recently I downloaded YouWave program it's handy but still not best.

Hey I was also using youwave but after installing win 8.1 it gives me an error saying os not ready..

I tried youwave android emulators it also has lot of features to use and play android apps and games. But bluestacks [/U][/URL] is best when it comes to android emulators..

I don't think that the matlab iphone app was actually a scaled down mobile matlab. I'm pretty sure it just let you remote control matlab on a nearby computer. It would send some of the results back to your phone though. And there is an android app that does exactly that, Matlab Remote for Android.

the matlab version on iphone can do the calulcation base stuff but it won't do any plot and those kind of graphical stuff

Check out the app called Addi
There is a light-weight, java based, open source, matlab / octave clone app for Android called Addi. It is published already. Plotting is in the works, but a lot is already there.
I think there is an octave-like port in the works. (waiting on froyo to clean up a bit, I believe.)
Octave in traditional should give a lot of backend/normal functionality.
Command remotley Matlab with Matlab Commander
Although not a standalone app like Addi, if you are interested in remotely command Matlab on your PC you could try the newly released Matlab Commander.
Look for it in the Android Market.

I found out that it would be possible to run linux on android!!!!
And my university also has the licenses for matlab on linux.

I did not tried it yet, because your phone need to be rooted to run linux, and I did't do that because I didn't wanted because of warranty reasons. But if someone says that this is possible than I might want to root

If you're still looking for a Matlab client you might find Anoc interesting which is an Octave (=Matlab clone) editor.
Can't imagine how trying out programs in a phone is going to be comfortable.. Maybe tablet.. What if someone wants to use matlab functions in development.? Do you think there are specific libraries included?

hey guys. i'm new into android developpment.
i have my senior project in my university (i'm a 5th year telecommuncations engineering student) and its about developping an android app that creates a custom watermark (location +date+ text entered by user) and affects it to an image then uploads it to a server, its supposed to be designed for bloggers and offshore journalists... i cant seem to get a good concept... how am i supposed to use matlab via my android? or i can just find a function that does the water mark and add it to my code?
would any one of you be kind enough to help me create a decent diagram for my app, to make it clearer?

I've got a simple question that perhaps somebody could answer. I know that there are some alternative markets available on the net...some of which look exactly like the android market. I was curious to know if there is some kinda open source project (or the like) for a custom alternative market.
The reason I ask is because it would come in great handy for my business. We have a few in-house apps that are currently distributed to managers as APKs via email. It would be great if we could have a central market for which managers can update our apps from as opposed to manually sending them out, at which point they must be installed manually.
I thought I saw something a while back about some type of market framework, but now I can't find any reference to it.
Any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure that I've understood completely what you meant, but you can check out Handster or the new Facebook-based Market - ESDN.
I think he is thinking of an app that would allow him to distribute apks to "in-house" business phones.
There are lots of "market-like" apps out there - SlideME, Amazon Appstore, Handster, etc. I haven't seen or heard of any market software that is open-source, however.
Alrighty...I guess it was worth a shot. Though it would be pretty cool if something like that existed. Thanks for the replies guys.

While that is an alternative market, it's not exactly what I was looking for. I'm looking for an open source alternative which would enable me to use my own repository.
I think my search has ended though...I came across an open source project call aptoide:aptoide.com
It does enable me to setup my own repository, and I think that's what I'll be going with.
Interesting... looks like I'll be adding a new element to my primary source server as well.
An alternative would be to use dropbox and allow your people to sideload the apps. The phones would have to be provisioned to do so, however.

We know, that we can't run Android apps on Ubuntu Touch. The UT is a great operating system, but it has a big problem. It doesn't have any "neccessary" or "must have" applications NOW. These apps are the following by the community's opinion: FacebookMessenger, WhatsApp, Google Maps, a browser (like Chrome, Opera mini or Firefox), instagram, etc.
So, I want to know, that we are possible to port these (or any other) Android apps to UT, or not? If the answer is yes, i want to create a team. In this team i want to port Android apps, or create this apps alternatives.

I haven't been on the xda forums a lot since the end of 2009 I believe but, since Canonical announced Ubuntu Touch this year, I have my reasons to pick up browsing the forums again. The Ubuntu Touch region, specifically.
Now, you were asking if there's any Android Apps to port to Ubuntu Touch.
I have a request that might not be of interest to a lot of people but will get pretty important to me once a 'user version' of Ubuntu Touch is released:
Simyo Netherlands provides an App to check your current "Belstatus" or call status.
This app provides me (on my iPhone) with the current remaining minutes/sms messages and remaining data (megabyte) for the current month within the contract.
Below the link to the Android equivalent in the Play Store, which might be portable to an Ubuntu Touch app:

You can port any already existing apps that are found on Android, you just need the API from the app developers.

No, there's no tool like that for Ubuntu Touch (yet?).
I'd be willing to port my Android apps to Ubuntu touch. Does the work need to be done from scratch? Is there a simpler way to port a java, native, android app to Ubuntu?
I can't contribute anything app-wise, but this sounds like a really good idea; best of luck!
Ubuntu-Touch must LIVE! I have use it and it is cool system. Some problems with applications time to time appeares. And it is very hard find developers for apps. But I think if required apps appeares -- more people move to UT. And first of all that system must use NOT for games.

Till last some years UT has some changes. For example appears OpenVPN network manager in a base apps. But unfortunately that feature with unresolved bugs. Also I didn't find any browsers like QupZilla/Mozilla FireFox or Lynx. So As for me we required updated OS for first. And normal browser. Current versions of browsers are unusable. That i big part of work. For that required powerful developers group. I try to compile and run some examples to UT but unfortunately unsuccessful. But I try. Who also try do something but with successful result?
First I'm sorry for my English's mistakes,I'm brazilian.There are a long time ago that I already knew about xda site but I just joined in it now because I need a lot help into apk development.I develop games in Construct 2(paid) for Android but when I finish my game in the program I get a HTML version of it and sent to Adobe Phonegap because like this I can get a apk without the boring problems of make it in ConcoonJS.My problem is when it get back the apk because the apk comes just like a ''raw'' project.What I want to mean is that the apk by the way doesn't come with a icon/logo(I think that like this it must come without the name of the company for instance too-n other words just a apk with a log ''build app'' and the game).In Unity we can put icon,name of company,compatibity and another things but I prefer to make in Construct my game because Unity is more complex than.SO what I want is a program that can give these informations for my developeds apks.

Instead of using PhoneGap, try to use Intel XDK and use Crosswalk as the wrapper for the game. Much less issues and you have better control over versions and plugins. Plus, it's free for unlimited apps, unlike phonegap.

We would like to give them to all students in our school who cannot afford a new computer. It would be used to use the gsuite apps but the Android version is too obsolete to install these apps.
I ask the developers of this forum to help us. Can you make a rom to use these Exagerate XZPAD700 Tablets?

Wondering why the need for an Android 4.0.4 custom ROM?
G Suite is Software as a service (SaaS) , means users have to connect to and use cloud-based apps over the Internet.
Think you don't have to install anything other than a bowser on tablet to make use of G Suite, if not already done yet.

Unfortunately, the gsuite apps we use are mainly classroom and Meet. But above all meet is the app we use most. To use Google meet we need to download from the play store, but it is available only for Android 5.0+ If instead we want to use Google meet in the browser in desktop mode, it tells us that the browser is not compatible. I have tried with other browsers for example dolphin, opera mini, uc browser etc. but it is the same problem. Ultimately we cannot use Google meet with these tablets and we have many. It's a shame not to be able to use them for students who don't have a computer.
To try out whether the tablets's Android is upgradeable or not, run the Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) what is a free, commercial-grade test suite, available for download here. The CTS runs on a desktop machine and executes test cases directly on attached devices .
