Yes, we all know that. It's the way it should be. X10 mini has more powerful hardware than Wildfire which is lacking a dedicated graphics chip.
Did you want to ask a question?
X10's processor is almost 100mhz more than wildfire
And the point if this thread is...? We know the wildfire has no gpu which is why games run slower. If you're complaining about the lack of game support, maybe you should have thought before you bought this phone.
the hardware simply isn't good enough
if i overclock will that help?

A little. Paper toss should run quite smooth with overclock.
guys dont go rush its not all hardware problem like processor or ram , u can compare the wildfire to htc magic u ll find that the wildfire has great ram over the magic and same processor ,however magic runs games smooth , the main problem is the screen resolution of the wildfire .
thats all

please give me a link, i test many of apk files and copy&paste many of Android/data/...../files packages but the graphics is gone
sory for my bad english
I do not think this is a good idea. the apk is 38MB large and will probably flood the memory. Also the game is hardly playable on the wildfire, because its processor is too weak.
I think that would go well on the phone
I downloaded several versions, but began to drive and all elements are there but are grayed out and not like the clips, so search version, which is the real elements
So generally speaking, it is impossible to run games like these smoothly on the HTC Wildfire?
How about those that flash their devices to WildPuzzle or OpenFire? What games are you able to play?
Quite disappointing.

Angry Birds is playable on the HTC WildFire when overclocked. I personally use OpenFire as rom, just because all bloat is removed.

... Stock ROM with HTC Sense and CPU @ 768Mhz = Fail
Wildpuzzle Rom with HTC Sense and W/O Sense + CPU @ 768Mhz = Fail
OpenFire = Fail
i'll try con CM6 but i already know it will be a fail there too
Need for speed shift is working for my wildfire, but it is very lag and see nothing.
It fit my screen, but u see nothing when the game start. It can move to SD if u r
using V8.0.10 ROM. V8.0.10 move ALL my apps to sd, but V8.0.11 doesnt.
NFS Shift for WIldfire > NO...
HTC wildfire does not support 3d gaming.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
The CPU and GPU on the Wildfire aren't meant for heavy gaming. You don't see anything because the GPU doesn't have the right instructions to process the 3D graphics. Angry birds works because the graphics are simple. Upgrading the ROM and overclocking won't change what the hardware is capable of (other than CPU speed).
Interesting.. I had Vodafone 845 which also has MSM7225 and Shift did not work (white textures..).. Now I got LG GT-540 which has MSM7227 and it works like a charm.. So is the difference between the two chips the 3D acceleration? Thought about buying a Wildfire as it is sold for 99 Bucks in Vodafone shops, but without NFS
Why does angry birds lag on this phone? Is that normal? Oh, and merry christmas everyone!
It is designed for high performance devices. It isn't designed for mdpi devices like our Optimus.
There will come a lite version soon. Same levels but optimized for budget-phones.
i have same problems with many games so not try to play them, uninstall )
The youtube videos i've seen show angry birds running really well, with other games too. Also the 3D benchmarks i've seen show this phone getting about double the performance as a nexus one.
Whats up with that? Maybe the 2.3 fix for the touchscreen problem will make them run well?
But the game isn`t even 3D. Then it must be the physics of the game that is choking the CPU? 600mhz should be enough for that simple game
Yeah, it's the physics that lag the game. It only lags during the initial setup of the objects and after you hit a bunch of stuff (has to recalculate their position.) It's simply a matter CPU power; not much we can do

Also try installing the game on your phone memory. It sped up Angry Birds for me. My memory card is Class 2 so that made it really slow. Phone memory improved it a lot.
It's laging when it's loading. If you would give this game few seconds to load levels and etc, you could play it smoothly.
Angry birds is designed for high class Android devices, not for medium class devices like our Optimus One.
The thing that lags is game physics.
If you want to play it without lag, and score many points in the benchmarks, you can install Megatron ROM. It's has many modifications, that allows Optimus One to go further with perfomance.
Yeah, been thinking about flashing megatron and some overclocking, that should do the trick
This all seems strange since my 2G ipod touch (400 mhz) runs it perfect.
If you will not touch display during play it will be really smooth.
Its know problem with 100% load if you touch display. This problem occurs on more devices with Android OS, but some times it's not so big problem like on OO. Google promised that in Android 2.3 Gingerbread most problems with touchscreen was optimized.

I tried the lite beta version. It is crashing on intial screen. Hoping they come out with a sstable version very soon.
I have set my CPU speed to 768 mhz and i can play AB nearly good. Its laggin for a few second at the beginning of a level but than i can play without lags.
I have enabled JIT and HA too.
Thats bull****.
Angry birds runs on my iPodTouch 2G (533mhz) extremely smooth only the Menu lags on it.
On my Optimus One the Menu is VERY smooth no lag at all but playing it laggs ONLY when touching the Screen (shooting a bird) or when it crushes into the wood/stones etc.. ingame.
To me it looks like a Performance Bug in the LG ROM. Also
on my damn iPod Touch 2G, NFS Undercover works very well.
Didnt tried it yet on my Optimus One I also use the stock Firmware.
I compare the Optimus One with my iPod Touch 2G because they are quite similar.
Same resolution nearly the same Processor speed. But of course the iPodTouch 2G is weaker.
On the Hardware side the Optimus One should play all games fairly well. On my ****ty iPod I even played GTA Chinatown Wars.
I hope 2.3 Gingerbread will fix that!!
Angry Birds lags especially in the later levels
levels 1 and the more simpler levels are fast but levels such as 1-21 lags cuz there's a lot of blocks and things to position.
But, does anyone know why an Ipod touch 2g with even a lower clocked processor is faster and smoother than our Optimuses?
Mine does lag, but it isn't frequent. Not really a major annoyance for me. Just try killing some background apps you're using (like facebook, but for some reason it respawns).

Might be because apps on the ipod/iphone only have to be optimized for a few different CPU's but mostly the same hardware, with android, there's a wide range of devices with different CPU speeds, different graphics chipsets, different ROMs, so it's hard to get it optimized unlike on the iPod/iPhone

I also have a 2G ipod touch and these are my thoughts exactly! I don't have my Optimus T yet, it's waiting at the post office for me back at home, but i'm eagerly awaiting gingerbread too!
yah that's true
im annoyed at the lag though
I have been a proud owner of an x10 for all of a week and ive been having a blast playing with the 3d games now that we have multitouch. I just downloaded dungeon hunters, which is a pretty intensive game and found that it runs fairly well on medium graphics, until the final stages when there are 100+ enemies coming at me where it lags, sometimes pretty badly.
Im running bin4arys 2.1 rom with JIT enabled, and was wondering if there is anything i can do to free up more ram, or to increase the gaming power of the x10 so it wont lag as bad? If i can boost up the power enough then i could even run it on higher graphics, and that game has some seriously awesome graphics, perfect to show off the power of my new little toy.
Any advice would be welcome,
Thanks,
Fantus
Use freex10 2.2 personally I like jerp version but trips is just as good tell me if that makrs lag stop cheers

What rom would give the best preformance when running games like angry birds rio ?
Don't really think any ROM would provide better performance as the hero is pretty slow even when overclocked it is still somewhat slow by comparison to other phones.
But i am pretty sure i saw a copy of angry birds v1.x that will work on a hero with out lag or poor performance. Just cant remember the name of the topic but it is in the hero forum somewhere.
Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908329 . It's not totally without lag, but it's without doubt playable Some people think the SalsaSense rom is good for gaming. I don't know, that rom's nothing for me, but may actually think the Floyo 1.4 is best
Hi, how can i increase the 3d performance of my x10 without overclocking or changing my rom? i already installed the fps uncap but i dont know if this just works for 2d or not.....
Isnt that what chainfire 3d does? Its a meeker app (requires root I think)
Edit: market, not meeker.

I dont know this tool, but i now read some reviews and there is just one guy with a x10 who wrote one, and he reportet that (maybe just some) games don't work for him (i dont know if they worked before), but i really dont want to screw anything up, also there is a warning that some devices may not be able to boot after the install..........the x10 isnt on the list of tested phones either
Its due to our device being old and not having much in the way of 3d performance. What is it for? Gaming?
Edit: also, just to add, we xperia x10 owners have the advantage of having a phone which is very difficult to "brick" (due to flashtool). We can always really flash stock firmware, hence, if chainfire did anything to ur device it is still reversible/fixable

I tried it many times, & it always worked! I'm sure it will work for u too...
Btw, yes it will boot (I tested it )
And how much is the performance increased?? Will i see a difference in the timescape app for example?
No don't think so I think it is to do mostly with gaming. Why is timescape laggy for u?
Sent from my X10 using XDA
Well, yeah its just not smooth, its a bit slow and a bit laggy.......both the widget on the homescreen and the actual timescape app, except of timescape pretty much everything runns smooth now after i installed the fps uncap........so how do i get timescape (widget and actual app) to run smooth? Thats what i want, i dont really care too much about the performance in 3d games, i've already tested tiki kart 3d, fruit slice and raging thunder 2 and all three run perfectly well and completely smooth, but not timescape (?), which is a bit weird because i think that those games need more performance than timescape....
So does anyone know how i can fix this and make timescape run smoothly?

You can use Chainfire 3D root, but it affects other games, it will run Tegra 2/3 Games such as Shadowgun but will affect games like little empire etc.

Use wolfbreaks ROM if your on Unlocked bl use Dooms Max OC and just drop the voltage a slight amount using No frills, i dont suggest keeping at this can burn ur CPU, and also play in charge, 3D games will kill ur battery
