first off i must say thumbs up to everyone here for the help!! i have been on this site since ive started work at 10:30am and im stuck!! so i think now is the time to ask for help some guidence been at it for 6 hours!!
i want to root my x10i and show that the iphone isnt the only best phone when it comes to mods!!
i have a few questions ill keep it simple and short. i for some reason can not root my x10i! i have super on click 1.5.4 and 1.6.5 it will not detect in usb debuggin mode. ive tried the switch it on off on off.. still nothing.
i also have universalroot.apk that do not why it wont work!!
i also tried with flash tool 2.6 and even though i have flashed the phone i cant get it to root comes up ERROR Please connect your device and enable USB debugging.
so im not sure i dont think the drivers are right when in debug mode and i cant figure out how to fix it.
i originally started my quest to downgrade from 2.1 to 1.6 and cant find the 1.6 firmware.
my phone is running 2.1 build number 2.0.A.0.504
for clarification whats the difference between 2.0.2.A.0.24, 2.1.A.0.435 and 2.0.A.0.504 could i just flash my phone with 2.1.A.0.435?
so please any info help will be much appreciated.
thanks
Greetings All,
I rooted my phone few months ago and have installed few ROM's. Sadly the one I had for sometime was a battery hog and couldnt even last for a day. I thought its time to change it and tried installing elinux and looks like I messed up my phone.
I installed elinux update.zip and it rebooted and is giving me boot loop. It just gets struck at htc screen and does not move ahead. I also dont see recovery in hboot. most of the times I cant get to hboot and when I do it shows me error message which is in the lines of no image - error . Can someone please ,please tell me what to do? of what I read online, I can install recovery image using adb..but in my case, I cant as I cant enable that usb debugging option.
please please help me...
phone : HTC hero - Asian
Thanks a ton and appreciate you reading this
My prepared answer for all such questions: Try a RUU install from PC It always works
thanks for reading my question.
Can you please tell me more about installing ruu from system. how do I do that? How can I install ruu or anythin like that when I cant connect my phone to my com[puter and change the usb debugging. I would really appreciate if you can let me know. thanks a ton
The trick is, you don't need usb debugging checked for installing ruu Booting into fastboot is enough (Power+Back).
In this case, You'll ned to download a proper official ruu for your device ASIA_HTC_HERO +verson for example, just google it). then connect usb cabel, power into fastboot wait a little for drivers, and run the ruu exe file. It will do all the work.
You just need to find the right RUU for your regional phone version.
Didnt want to mess it up without knowing what am doing. Took it to a shop and its up and running. Thanks for your help buddy.

I sincerely hope this is not in the wrong place, but i do not know where else to put it. I tried to update my x10 running wbcm6 to tw007.2, but apparently in my sleep-deprived haze, downloaded the wrong bb version. when i tried to restart after install, i lost xrecovery, and had no signal and had an unknown bb version. after many attempts to recover, finally resorted to rolling back all the way to stock 2.1 and starting over. was able to succesfully flash at&t 2.1 rom according to flashtool, but now i am stuck in a reboot loop after the boot animation. cannot get seus pc companion to recognize, and neither will flashtool. i am at the end of my wits, this my only phone, and it is currently unuseable...
anyone who has any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. let me know if i can provide any further information...
My turn!
WRONG SECTION AAAAHHHHH!!!!!

Sounds like what happend to me when flashing custom kernels to MIUI ROMs.
Something wrong with the chargemon with the problem I was having.
But for you. Dunno.
You've tried re-flashing firmware but cannot get flashtool to recognize your phone?
Try taking the battery out, then get flashtool set up, plug everything in and hold the back button, and then put the battery back in and continue to hold the back button.
Sometimes, it takes a bit for the 'puter to recognize the phone with flashtool because it's had the USB ID re-assigned. Mine (on windows 7) will re-install the USB driver when I'm having severe issues.

See what I mean?
It is funny to me when people just say "wrong section" but offer no useful advice. Seems just as easy to say nothing and just let us work it out. And who knows? Maybe someone who is dealing with an issue caused by android development (see current section) will think to look in the same place for a solution. It's a big circle!

Amen brotha!
...now I'm just spamming......WRONG SECTION!!!!!
MODS>>>>>PLEASE MOVE TO Q&A!!!!!!AHHHHHHHHH!
wow. solved before it got moved ? :L
also, i was gonna suggest reboot your darn x64 bit comp, and the take out your ****fy battery, and then plug your usb cable in the hole and hold the back button and reflash with flashtool, but when it says flashing, then insert battery while still holding the back button. its a common issue after one flash for x64. happened to me several times, when the x64 bit comp won't detect, so i had to reboot.
now, MOD PLEASE MOVE
Moved to proper forum.
that is interesting information to know. i will definitely keep that in mind when flashing in the future. appreciate that
Hi guys
Can someone help me as i made a mistake.
Rooted and xrecovery on my x10 mini, but didnt bother to update the firmware to the Latest 2.1.1.A.0.6,so im stuck on the 2.1-UPDATE 1 which means i cant run CM7 OR CM6 on old firmware....
im a newbie to android switching from the iphones and thought to just give this a whirl today and open it up after just buying it.
But now i have tried to update in pc companion but it gets stuck at the plug in usb and hold back button stage and wont upgrade!
can anyone help me please as i would like to get it onto the CM7 and it wont run on the old firmware
thanks guys
I currently have MIUI 2.3.7 on the phone and would like to take it back to stock 2.2. I had a little trouble getting into download mode but that's fixed now. Then I had a hard time with USB drivers but I found a thread talking about how you need the google dev kit USB driver so I've done that as well now. So here is where I am currently.
I have AIO toolbox downloaded and installed but when I try to test the USB debugging it says its disabled which its not and I have a feeling this is why my phone will not get past setupconnection in odin. Has anyone else ran into this yet and do you have a fix?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Magically usb debugging is working now. I reboot the phone a couple of times and bingo it started working. Just put the phone into download mode again and now Odin is getting past setupconnection. I wish I knew what was causing that issue.
Now I am looking for stock 2.2 rom and every post that seemed to have has bad download links now. Anyone have any links to 2.2 stock?

Go back to 2.1 and upgrade through kies i know kies is not very trustworthy but its the best and easiest way to go back to stock 2.2 although i would not recommend it try team whiskey froyo 2.2 Bionix - nextgen series i think they are in v3 its real stable and runs smooth but that's just my opinion good luck with your phone
