i do tht and it works..

a link would be usefull i have the same problem

Hi,
I also have this problem, with a certain X10i device. Windows Vista was asking for "SEMC HSUSB Device Driver". All other (3) X10i were working fine with ADB debugging on this computer. Looks like a batch of devices call driver installation with a different device ID set, which was in may case "VID_0FCE&PID_2146&MI_00". You can look up and compare this in the driver installation log file "setupapi.app.log" which is located in the "%windir%\inf" directory. So I´m currently testing driver conversion from the other (working) X10i.
Will report how it goes ...

Hi again,
porting the driver didn´t work, so I decided to backup system with help of droid explorer and start up with a clean ROM on 2.0.2.A.0.24 (including root) with custom/generic DE (SI: 1235-7836).
Now the driver problem has disappeared aswell.
*EDIT* Try out the new "all in one" Flash Tool 0.24, what does in minutes, that almost took us hours some time ago ;-)

i'm not stupid.. but maybe somebody know the solution ??
Windows 7 update
I let the operating system do an automatic update when asked if I wanted to search for drivers for my s740. It downloaded most of the appropriate software bits like the windows mobile device center and the radio driver I think. It however did not download the actual s740 driver. An install gone wrong I think.
No matter how many times I unplugged and re-plugged it back in all I saw was unknown device in the device manager. I then selected to update the unknown device driver and let windows seacrh for it and it did the trick!
Hope this helps.
thnks.. but only it's not the solution. he still saying unkown device. Maybe you can find out what the drivers ar, and share them with me over here??
thnks
Delete the unknown Device in the Windows 7 "Device Manager". Than install the latest "Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center". Now ist should work.
thnks for the new sugestion.. but this is not working either..
The first step, delete it - no problem
Installing the Windows Mobile Device Center - from microsoft site.. download it. Is perfect
When the pop up screen coms, to my computer there is standing installing the drivers.. (Perfect whe thing)
Then come's the error.. The big red cross.. It says, you unpluggd you're device.. ?? Crazy thing.. i did not.
So any body have a new solution for this.. Or please post the drivers....??
Hell Guys, here's my update to my problem. It's solved.
I'm was going to Windows/Configurarion Screen/Software
There i'm deleting everything from mobile device mananger and, than in device mananger i'm deleting the only device that hase no drivers (my phone )
Plug in and windows do the rest..
thnks for the help people..

Installing X10i drivers on Windows 7 help

Need a little help setting up my dev environment on Windows 7.
I had it working perfectly on my old PC running XP. I have since bought a laptop with 7 and am trying to set up a dev environment on it but am having issues with the drivers (at least as far as I can tell).
I have:
Android SDK installed - including all available components
Java 1.6 SDK and JRE installed - environment variable is set
SEUS and PC Companion installed
Rooted my phone to 026 using the original method - done on old machine
USB Debugging switched on on my phone
When connecting my phone, I get no option to install the driver. My SDCard also automatically mounts itself, which i'm not sure if that's related to my issue. Any ideas how to stop it from doing that?
When I try to update the driver software via Device Manager (browse to <sdkdir>\USB_DRIVER), I get 'Windows could not find driver software for your device'.
I've read through a few threads, particularly the rooting issues thread, and googled it in quite a few different ways with no luck. The closest I could find is XperiaX10iUser's post in this thread. Running USBDeview as mentioned, i can only see 'SEMC Flash Device' and 'Sony Ericsson X10i' that would be relevant. However, when I try to uninstall selected devices it does nothing (no error, just doesn't uninstall).
Running 'adb devices' returns a list of devices with nothing in it.
Any help/ideas would be much appreciated as i'm going insane here!
Are u maybe running 64bit win7?

Uninstall your Java and start from scratch using the 32bit versions of Java, and run USBDeview without the phone plugged in if you haven't done already.
Yes, I'm running 64bit Win 7.

I installed 32bit Java (1.6.0_20) and reinstalled all the Android SDK components. No change in symptoms.
I have run USBDeview with the phone plugged in and without.
i'm running win7 x64 and it works normally.
another day i tried install a theme (without have seus or pccompanion installed on my pc) and i had the same problem. after i installed pccompanion, it worked normally.
remember that you must have usb debugging on, to adb devices show your phone.

I definitely have USB Debugging on and PC Companion installed.
Where do the drivers for the X10i actually come from? The phone, SDK Drivers component, SEUS or PC Companion?
What am I missing?
Does anyone else's SDCard mount itself when plugging the phone in? It didn't do this on my old machine.
EDIT: I was able to remove USB devices using USBDeview. Just need to right-click and 'Run as administrator' (which is odd given that my user is admin). Didn't help me installing the driver though. Still can't find anything when pointing to <sdkdir>\USB_DRIVER.
My <sdkdir> is C:\Android\SDK. It shouldn't matter that it's not the default path should it?
EDIT2: Apparently, DoubleTwist has an auto USB mount option. Doesn't make a difference to the driver issue though.
Ok listen to this, it will seem a little crazy but i wonder if it will help
Install pdanet the desktop version ( its a program used for usb tether ) the idea is that this program installs the sonyericsson drivers with it, just follow the instructions of the installation process and tell me how it goes..

SEMC device message and upgradation to Android 2.1 on Xperia X10 fails

While trying to upgrade my Xperia X10i from Android 1.6 to 2.1 at one stage when I press and hold the back button while connecting the USB cable to the phone a message appears on computer screen saying "New hardware found" "SEMC flash device" and the computer (running on windows XP) hangs. This is happening again and again and preventing me to upgrade to Android 2.1. I need help in following areas:
1. How to install the SEMC flash driver (and of course where to find it)
2. How can I proceed further to update my phone to Android 2.1
3. Any link of youtube showing the installation of SEMC flash driver
My phone info is as following:
Model: X10i
Country: Android rest of Africa (b)
Brand: Customized ARO
Sony Ericsson PC companion is showing availability of new update (Android 2.1) but the above mentioned error is not letting me complete the installation process. I'm using this phone in Pakistan.
Urgent help/ guidance would be highly appreciated.

I'm new to smartphones, therefore, have little knowledge of technicalities. I'll greatly appreciate if someone please gives some step by step procedure with regard to solving the above mentioned issue.
Today I tried the command: menu back back menu back menu menu back and in the "security" settings and found this:
Version Label:
R1C003
CERT Status:
SEMC [Key OK] [Active]
VIACCESS [Key OK] [Deactive]
MARLIN [Key OK] [Deactive]
SEMC key is active and this is probably the cause of freezing computer and not letting Android 2.1 install. But I'm not sure. Any one who understands these settings please confirm if this is the cause. And if yes then how to 'deactivate' the SEMC key.

No, I believe that this means that the SEMC KEY -- the BACK BUTTON is active, meaning it can be used. The Back button is the only way to activate flash mode when the PC recognizes the phone as a SEMC device.
SEUS says that the min requirement is a P4 3.6Ghz processor, and that if the software doesn't recognize the phone in 3-6 seconds, you have to try it again by using the back button on the software so that it won't lock up.

As soon as I hold the back button and attach the USB cable with the phone (Xperia X10) this message appears "Found New Hardware" "SEMC Device" and the computer running on Windows XP (2.8 Ghz processor) hangs and doesn't do anything unless I restart it. I've changed USB port of computer and also set the phone to factory default settings but no progress. I have tried Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) and PC Companion both but no success. Is there any way to upgrade my phone from Android 1.6 to 2.1? Need help.

See the couple of threads in this section, but you will need flash mode to use them, and SEUS as well so getting that sorted should be your first concern.

I'm a newbie here and this is my first ever smart phone. I'll be grateful if you could copy/paste a link here which could solve my problem or if possible tell me step by step procedure with regard to getting this SEMC device/ driver issue resolved. I have tried upgrading Android from 1.6 to 2.1 on at least two desktop computers but both hanged as soon as the "Found New Hardware" message popped up.

You can find the threads in this section for getting 2.1, your computer hanging is a different issue however. I don't have XP so maybe someone else that does can help you with that.
Hey, I had the same problem as you..
fyi: I'll be using SEUS and "Update Service" interchangeably
1. google "se update service x10", the first result should be the sonyerricson website. The page there is the download page for SEUS.
2. Download and install 'Update Service' (~35.3MB file).
3. Backup your phone data first.
4. Run SEUS and follow the onscreen instructions. I don't quite remember the exact steps, but it should be something like:
4a. Turn of phone, wait at least 30 secs.
4b. Plug in USB to phone.
4c. Hold 'Back' button on phone
4d. Plug in USB to PC.
5. SEUS should detect your phone and look for updated firmware. But it should also install your SEMC usb drivers that you need for the flash tool.
When I did the above, it didn't find any firmware updates for my phone, so I could just exit SEUS and use the 2.1 flasher in the other posts.

I've already tried Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) and PC Companion as I mentioned in my earlier posts above but no success. Please shed some light on 2.1 flasher which u have mentioned. Also, I would appreciate if you could tell me how you resolved your issue. I'm not good at technicalities so I hope you would explain me things in simpler words.
so the 2.1 flash I mentioned won't help your case right now, since you are still stuck at the 'New Hardware Found'.
I just reread your posts, and your computer hangs (ie.freezes?) when you plug in the device?
You will probably need to do the update on a newer (ie. better) computer... can you borrow a friend's computer? If your computer isn't hanging when you plug the device, then everything else will work out. So get your hanging computer issue resolved first.
I think it is a major problem with your pc if the drivers cannot be installed.
At least one try is NOT TO RELEASE THE BACK BUTTON when Seus trys to detect your phone.
If all don't work your XP might be ****ed up and needs a fresh install at all.
If you are not willing to reinstall XP just try to get handson another PC to flash your phone
Also be sure all VirusScanners and Firewalls etc are shut off!
Regards
I've tried at least two desktop computers (both running on Windows XP) and both hang as soon as they find new hardware (only in case of Xperia X10). I tried other hardwares like Printer and another phone Sony Ericsson K750i. Surprisingly both worked perfectly well and drivers were also installed. I think I should give Xperia X10 a try on a laptop now. See what happens.
Issue has been resolved. I installed USB Flash Driver before opening SEUS and going for update. And when driver was successfully installed then I restarted the computer and then upgraded my Xperia X10i by using Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS). Now, I'm having Android 2.1 which is working perfectly well. Thanks for your precious suggestion, friends.
Hi coldbird,
can I ask where did you get the drivers?
I checked the S-E site and it says there that the newest drivers are included in Sony Ericsson PC Companion 2.0
If I attach the X10 before opening PC Companion, then after a short while the Companion opens anyway.
I have disabled Kaspersky because I read somewhere that it can cause issues.
I still have not been able to update my friends X10.
Any advice welcomed.

Thank you for sharing the tip. It works for me too.
1) Installed the flash driver first by connecting the phone (switched off) to the pc while holding the back key button.
2) Once the driver successfully installed. Restart the pc. Switched on the phone.
3) Open the Sony Companion app and connect the phone.

SuperOneClick Checking Drivers... Failed.

Hi there, first post!
So I've done a lot of searching on the forums & I can't find anyone with this problem with the X10. I found that someone had the problem on the Galaxy S 4G, but except for the initial problem all the other information I found in the thread was irrelevant.
OK So I have PC Companion installed, I tried to get SEUS but it said on Sony Ericsson's website "This software is not available for the Xperia™ X10.
Go to the Software downloads overview to see available software for your phone."
So to get the SEMC HUSB driver I downloaded the x10 drivers from sony's developer website. OK, now in USB debug mode, I don't get the question mark logo next to SEMC HUSB device in my Windows device manager anymore.
Run superoneclick, I get "checking drivers. . . failed" & then it freezes at "waiting for device."
Can anyone help me?
ATM I am switching to my old computer that I used to upgrade my x10a to 2.1 with (I am on AT&T & my 2.1 install has gone sort of buggy, the English keyboard has dead spots on it, but the korean keyboard works fine, the dead spots are also dead when opening apps there, but I can use the dead spot to scroll fine. I figured if I am going to flash it, I might as well root and upgrade)

Try using the latest flashtool from the flashtool thread.
It should come with a folder in it with the correct drivers.

[Solved] All Xperia Drivers Problems

Hi there
I have seen some posts where users are having difficulty connecting Xperia to their PC or ADB. Therefore, I am writing this guide to help you all.
The guide was prepared using Windows 7 Ultimate but should work with Windows XP and Windows 8.
Firstly, Sony uses a different driver for their Xperia devices and therefore, sometimes you are unable to install drivers for your devices especially for ADB commands.
IF YOU ARE LUCKY
There are few ways to get around to install drivers for your device. The most convenient and easy is you plug in your device and wait for automatic detection of your device. Make sure you have USB connected as MTP in MY XPERIA in SETTINGS of your phone. The device drivers would be automatically installed by Windows update.
METHOD
If suppose you can not install your drivers, connect your xperia and then on your PC, go to My computer > Properties>Device Manager.
You should see an undetected hardware with a yellow exclamation mark over it. Open it and click on update my drivers. Then choose GOOGLE DRIVERS by choosing hard-drive. This should install the drivers for you. If this doesnot work. Try the attachment with the post where the drivers are modified to work with Sony Xperia Devices.
Follow the same steps but this time choose the attachment folder to search for drivers. It might say, the drivers are not verified. Just Ignore it and carry on installing them. You will need to unzip these files.
IF suppose you do not see any exclamation mark while you connect your xperia. Just go to control panel and add new hardware. Select, I will choose my device and then install from hard-disk. Select the folder where you have unzipped the files and you are good to go. The name of new hardware is not important as windows will read the drivers files and install drivers for Xperia.
This will install all drivers for your device. If there are two or more drivers while installing them. Redo the steps and install all of them individually.
Suppose your ADB still doesnot work, then
FOR ADB DRIVERS :
Download the ADB Universal Drivers and connect your device. Then hit install. The ADB drivers will be automatically detected and installed.
Further, if these tricks fail, you can delete the unknown driver from your control panel and then try finding it again by using refresh button(scan for new hardware changes) in device manager.
Another trick is to click on unknown drivers and delete them. Connect your phone to the PC and restart your phone. Then scan for new hardware in device manager. The drivers should be installed for your device.
If still there are some problems, I will try to help you out.

nope, windows 8+ is different
I'm getting a lot of problems with drivers for this device, seems Sony's guys did it just to say:
"Ok, now this device got some drivers, lets play poker :"
It's serious. To get ADB driver working was a lot of work, just got it working because our friend Ashu1307 posted this link for me ( maybe it can work for ya= http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552505)
Ok, that's nice since it was the only driver that's not working on windows 7.
I said windows 7
Now I'm on windows XP, tryied 2 machines already, and this goddam piece of **** don't have any driver working. Nothing, neither MTP, nor fastboot nor ADB nor flashmode (mass storage works, the ones I've quoted are detected, but don't work)
PC companion is another thing I'm hating. First I have to download the Web Installer, 27MB of nothing, since after the download it has to update because the sony's website offers outdated file. THen I download support zone, which detects phone but not the model.
What do I do? I'm going weird just about to break this phone on the wall, I never had so much problems on motorola's or samsung's or enen old sony ericsson's devices.
Before,my PC used to display an error whenever I tried to transfer files from my pc to my Xperia Sola. But after changing the kernel,I could transfer files with ease. So,do you think the problem in the kernel is related to this error?
I never had problem with drivers.
Trying another computer, still having the problems, I use the DoomKernel, do you think it has to do with it ?
