So I think I've made it through the rooting process and I'm not able to connect to anything through the cell network.
through the normal browser I can go to any site and no problems.
But through Opera I get nothing, through the twitter app I get nothing. And my gmail and google sync and what not doesn't work unless I have wifi on.
Has anyone ran into this situation? I'd been searching but haven't seen anything that really leaves me with a solid solution. Is there something else I should check out here?

So after the 2.1 update I keep on getting failed sent messages. I looked around and called my carrier as well and they say that the 2.1 update disabled "sms queuing".
Does anyone else have the same problem?
Does anyone know some sort of fix for this?
I'm having the same problem, really annoying. Switching to handcent has done nothing to fix it.
Yeh same I tried Chomp Handcent and Go sms. None of them were helpful.
Handcent was the only one that made it easy to fix and resend failed sms.
Think it's a problem with 2.1 my wife had this issue with her htc legend before the 2.2 upgrade...

i think i can help, i just got mine for christmas and flashed it right away. had the same problem but found and it worked. under settings go to wireless controls > Mobile Networks > and Press Access Point Names.
create a new APN and name it after your wireless provider
if you know someone with a unflashed phone you can get the info from them, it seems that att (my provider) is reluctant to give this info out or they just dont know that its not there. for us att carrier

My phone did the same thing. I used the full settings posted above, and later on I ended up with 2 APN's. One called MEdia Net and another called MEdia Net MMS. It changed on its own. It now seems to be working fine. MEdia Net is the default browser for ATT.

Hi all,
I have a quick question. I flashed my AT&T X10a to world Generic. Im from Minnesota. When I travel to North Dakota and Nebraska my phone all ways has an R over the radio status bar. Now the problem is I know I'm not roaming because my brother has an X10a that is 1.6 and it never says its roaming. Then when I go to Settings/Wireless&Network/Mobile Network/Network Operators it says Im connected to AT&T with a bunch of numbers. At my house it doesnt have any problems. It says im on an Edge network. At my house it says im on ATT DR. Is there a way to fix this?

Hmm that is weird. I think you might want to get a new SIM card from AT&T. I've heard that it can do the trick sometimes.
Ok How do I order a new SIM card? I think I fried it a bit when I was using my prototype Vivaz Pro.

Just go to any AT&T store and get one. Or call them up and they will mail you one.
Ok thanks!!!

Clean install from Eclair, everything was done correct. My phone was originally an X10a, now its X10i.....does that have anything to do with it? Apn settings adjustments?
is your apn info still there, and what is your network Mode set to?

Hey all.
I'm having a problem with Internet now, just got my sim card up and working, had to reinstall different rom to fix it.
BUT now I can't get Internet to work over 3G
I'm using AT&T and pay as u go.
I got a 3G/h up in the corner but internet still doesn't work.
Anybody have suggestions how to fix?

This may seem a little simplistic, but I've made this mistake myself with previous phones..
Auto select network mode and auto select network operator.
Previously whilst abroad I had set to specify a certain network and therefore when I got home and switched phone on it could not would not connect till I remembered what I'd done.
Hope it helps and your Phone is fine!
Didn't work
Now I have 3G sign but no Internet
Can someone on stock post a screenshot of their settings? MMS got broken again (as seems to happen with every damn android phone I get...) and the usual settings I used to fix it in the past don't seem to work with this phone for some reason.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I still get just a toast saying "Error connecting to MMS provider"
I wouldn't care as much if it weren't for the fact that group texts route through MMS as well.
Anyone happen to know of a fix? Really don't want to take it back to AT&T over this... (especially since I've gone and rooted/installed twrp and a ROM)
Custom rom....then id ask the dev whats going on ... shouldnt be getting those errors if apns are set correctly...

are the stock apn's
download 8sms and manually override sms settings see if it works in that client (you can put your own APN settings in it)
Tested some more, definitely an issue with the ROM. Flashing Skyfall fixed it anyway.
Glad you got it sorted....
