Question about Android Keyboard. - Vibrant Themes and Apps

I had posted this in response to a posting in the Q&A but since this originally had to do with a dark theme thought might get more of a response here.
I have a zip file that is for the darker/black android keyboard. when installing this through CW does it do a fresh install or does it edit any existing android keyboard installation?
Asking becuase am wanting android keybard on the ODIN release of 2.2 that Eugene released. Have seen several people asking for this keyboard but haven't seen any files except the black one that I got a while back.

I am also willing to bump. I am running froyo Odin version and it doest have the default Android keyboard??
Cant it be installed?

Kernel?

I just installed the new elelinux 2.2 special edition with the latest radio and everything is working perfectly so far. However, I've seen all this banter about kernels thrown about and I was just wondering if some body could explain what they are and why I should install the latest '11' version?
I've tried searching, but I couldn't find any clear answers. Thanks!
edit: if somebody could also tell me how to setup hotmail in the email app, that would be great
Should really be posted in, and will likely get moved to q&a. However, basically a kernel is the bridge between hardware and software. Different kernels have different optimisations in them, and most people have found flykernel to be one of the better ones.
Install it if you like (I love it personally) but your phone wont stop working if you don't.

I think Flykernel11 is already included in Elelinux's Special Edition:

No need to flash it over that, i think.
you could look up IMAP and POP3 for mailapp here: Klick!
Sorry for the German Language, cant find it in English ATM.

[Q] Noob question

Hi, 2 questions
First time posting at this great site, have TnT Lite 4.2.4 on right now and was wondering how to tell which build eg.(3381) I currently have installed as I am hoping to update to a newer TnT.
I installed honeycomb theme for adw but now cant remove the theme, how do i remove.
thanks, I hope this was allowed as a first post
I'm still on stock, but you should be able to go into your settings, and find About Tablet and it should tell you what build you have
hi, thanks for the reply, on the ,, about tablet,, page it tells me that it has
android 2.2
tnt lite v4.2.4
kernel 2.6.32.9-00000-10.8.2-dirty
build frf91
again not sure how to know what this means to the things I have been reading on the forums about 3312 or 3366 as an example
TnTLite 4.2.4 is based on TnT 1.1-3588
thanks for the help, is there any site/forum that lists all the roms info
Each ROM has a thread in the development section here. You should be able to find any information you want by searching those threads.
I searched almost every post in the forums but do not understand how the info below is determined.
TnTLite 4.2.4 is based on TnT 1.1-3588
If it is out there then I didnt find it probably because I dont know some of the lingo and procedures.
I am trying to find out if I can just install/boot with a newer TnT like 4.3/4.4 considering the 3588 running now to remove adw honeycomb theme.
I followed a guide that had me first install dproot and then tntlite 4.2.4, everything was working great until i installed honeycomb theme for adw launcher, have had a lot of fc's since then.
ADW is not the stock launcher for TnTLite so it won't be overwritten if you upgrade to a new version. Since I don't use ADW I can't help you but I would imagine that a google search for "remove theme from adw launcher" might be helpful.
To remove an adw theme you can either delete the theme application
menu/settings/applications/manage applications/. Then find the honeycomb adw theme apk click it and select uninstall.
Or,
hit your menu button. Select preferences or adw preferences and click on. then select theme and pick stock or whichever.
thanks for the reply, I did remove per your suggestions and the honeycomb theme is still thereafter reboot, also removed adw and installed launcher pro and tried to use stock theme but it reverts back to the honeycomb, cant find any instance of of the honeycomb theme on the sdcard or sdcardII
How did you get the honeycomb theme on there? Did you install an apk or did you flash it in clockwork recovery
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
+1 the only HC themes I have seen are cwm installs.
Thanks for all suggestions, I installed the honeycomb theme from market it is
Honeycomb ADW Theme by GFX Android
installed the apk and now cant remove it, tried deleting the theme adding new theme and using Launcher pro but the backkground pic stays at the honeycomb theme,
sorry if some of this does not make sense, as I am a new user I am not sure how to word or describe this porperly.
On a different note I have another question but not sure if I start a new thread or not?
Question is I rooted z4root and installed tnt 4.2.4 all is good, can I install clockwork mod on top of these or do i have to go back to stock first
thanks

[Q] Norwegian Stock Keyboard

I've sucessfully flashed
XXKG6
Android 2.3.4
This package has: PDA:XXKG6| PHONE: XXKG6| CSC:XEUKD1
Download:
XXKG6 Stock Kernel:
Password:
and rooted via CF-Root
Thing is I cant find a thread that would guide me to installing stock samsung keyboards. I need the scandinavian keyboards and dictionarys...
can anyone help or point me in the right direction?
I've never managed to install Norwegian keyboards/dictionaries on ROMs without them, haven't got the know-how. Never found a guide/tutorial for installing extra languages either, but can't say I've looked too much..
Leo's custom ROM Revolution has Norwegian support for KG6 in the newest version - 2.5 - I believe (haven't tried it yet, still on 2.4).
I got Better Keyboard from the market, it's grown on me so much it's my default now.
Lykke til
Well wow, way to bump, but anyways, you think this'll work on ICS?
You see, I kind of have a problem with finding a replacement keyboard, with Norwegian Layout and the three scandinavian letters "Æ Ø Å"
Sure, they're there but not as their own button.
And I couldn't extract the stock samsung keyboard from the Android 4.0.3 "Samsung Version" either :C
For the stock keyboard go here:

Not sure about Norweigen layout though

Got this one, well, I guess I'll have to dig into it myself.

Arabic support for Thunderbolt on 2.3.4?

Hi All,
First of all, I DID do a search and nothing turned up. I also don't know which sub-forum this needs to go under, so mods please feel free to move it to a better location.
Note: I know there are other Android phones out there that have Arabic language packs, but it was not at all clear if those same packs would work on the Thunderbolt, and even less clear if they would work on the STOCK 2.3.4 update.
The basics:
Thunderbolt running 2.3.4 STOCK rooted and ready to go.
ClockworkMod recovery installed
So far the ONLY way for me to read Arabic properly is using Opera Mobile. However this only works for browsing sites like aljazeera.net. The system itself doesn't support Arabic entirely with apps like the Webkit browser, and text messaging showing the letters in LTR rather than RTL and disjoint.
Since I have a rooted device running the latest official stock rom (2.3.4) I figured now is the time to investigate.
Can anyone please help? Thanx
bump, i would appreciate knowing this as well. anyway to get arabic support without rooting or changing rom?
there isn't really something arabic specific for the thunderbolt, but you can download fonts/keyboards to give support.
font wise, download "Mirsal" from Market, then get a keyboard like "Ibrahim Arabic Keyboard". it will help with sms/txt, email, etc...
