Need to go back to original state - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted my HTC Hero and loved it, but my digitizer is having some problems and the touch screen isn't responding well so I need to revert the phone back to its original state. Would simply flashing the original ROM do it? I'm on TELUS, the original version was 1.6.

Yes just flash the official ruu (rom) from htc and it should be back to the original state

Weird Problem reverting back to Stock SPL

So I am reverting back to the stock spl due to warranty issues for a non functioning touch screen. I flashed the most updated htc rom which is 5.11 so when I go into bootloader mode it reads SPL 5.10 instead of 1.95. Is this because of the rom I flashed? If I flash the original 1.95 rom will it change that number to 1.95? and is it even that big of a deal since I flashed an official htc rom?
Thanks

i also went through the procedures to put my phone back under warranty it, but mine reads spl 1.90.0000
my steps were:
load the official rom update for the fuze
run the relocker
revert the spl
really hope they warranty it, i dropped it a few weeks back, and the slide has a minor gap
Update
After loading the ROM update, my phone totally quit texting.... even after 2 hard-resets the problem persisted... so i loaded the update again, and it did change my SPL to 5.10, and my phone is texting again. Don't know if having SPL 1.90 with the newest update had anything to do with the texting problem, just thought id share
So you flashed the updated 5.11 rom and your spl reads 5.10? if so, thats what mine reads as well and I believe we are in the clear warranty wise

How to put back original HTC 2.1 software?

Hello,
I have G2 Touch and few months ago I successfully restored is as HTC Hero with HTC 2.1 firmware (official).
Eventually, I rooted the device and put custom ROM.
Now I am selling the phone and would like to return to HTC 2.1 firmware. What is the easiest way?
Thanks
I suppose this guide is okay for me, but please someone confirm?

flash the original RUU off the htc website
http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=283&cat=2&dl_id=775 That isn't 2.1, but once you have rolled back to that I guess you may be able to get the 2.1 update OTA or something
Edit or just flash a generic rom via the recovery image.
I cannot download from there "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device."
Can I use tutorial I mentioned above? The Generic HTC 2.1 RUU
yeah download that and give it a shot - should work fine, wouldn't have thought you would have to do anything apart from flash the RUU via your PC.
Try to go to your T-mobile-site (in whichever country you are from) Find Support -> Downloads, and search for your phones manufacturer (T-mobile) and find G2. I think you will be able to install original updates from there
Ok, I will use this file I linked already.
Just one more questions, do I need to do any wipes from Recovery Mode?
No, you don't. RUU recoveres everything (Radio, SPL, ROM, etc.), so there's no need to wipe. And remember, before flashing your phone bring original Recovery back.

[Q] hspl 2.08 to stock

hey guys, I'm sending my phone back due to crazy overheating and battery issues, but I need to first put everything back to stock before I ship it back to T-mobile. I'm currently using hspl 2.08 and illuminati's custom rom version 3.14
Is it as easy as downloading the stock version from htc's website and running it in boot loader? or do i have to do something else??
the last thing i wanna do is brick the phone before sending it back lol.
Flash the stock ROM via SD card, this will replace HSPL with the original SPL.
As easy as that.

Radio Help

I currently run BAMF 1.09 rom with the radio that goes along with it. I sold my phone and installed the original HTC Factory Rom but i forgot to install the radio to go along with it. the HTC Rom is about 6-7 months old so my question is what radio do i need for this? Also, i assume all i need to do is install the radio through bootloader and it should have a connection. Currently the verizon told the person i sold the phone to the radio was broken. thanks for your help in advance. I forgot to check but believe the ROM is FROYO.
Did you just restore from a nandroid or did you install a stock file? Your easiest bet is to install a stock file from the bootloader (JUST like a radio) to restore completely to stock.

Just be careful.

[Q] I was young and foolish and now I have a bricked DX.

Hi!
I recently got an HTC Desire X, my first Android phone, and I decided to try CyanogenMod. However, I ended up with a bricked (turn on, HTC logo, carrier logo, HTC logo, freeze) phone, so now all I'd love is to get the stock ROM back.
Here's what I did:
1. Unlocked my bootloader following the instructions on htcdev.com
2. Installed CWM recovery
3. Followed the instructions for CM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337389), rebooted
4. Cursed a lot
The problem is, I didn't check my HBOOT version, or my CID - being new to all this, I didn't even realize I should have - and they're the main problem.
The stock ROM I found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239511) requires HBOOT 1.25.0002 (Mine is 1.24.0000).
Other ways I found were for specific CIDs I don't have - my CID is T-MOB004 (I got this phone from a Czech carrier, and I thought the customization goes only skin deep - guess not).
I have no idea what to do now, and I'd love if anybody could be of any help. Thank you!
I'm not at a computer so I can't give links. But search for thr ICS nandroid backup thread in general. There are stock backups for your hboot there
Does the different CID not matter, then?
I'm sorry, but it looks like the links to the TMOB backup are down atm. So you won't be able to return to stock. What you can do, however, is flashing an ICS Sense ROM (like ShadowDX or similar) along with the correct boot.img. Also, you could try a JB ROM of your choice together with Infinity kernel (it's the only JB sense kernel fitting in ICS hboot). That kernel can be found here.
I was just about to post how flashing a correct hboot ROM didn't work, but then it booted up as it should, yay. I suppose that was all there was to it, to flash a correct ROM
I'll make back-ups from now on, thanks!
