I've noticed today that when I plug the USB cable into my phone its a little loose. Is that normal for other Vibrants? I may be worried about nothing, but I want to get this squared away before the port becomes unusable and I'm SOL.
My first vibrant had this problem and the port also creaked and eventually broke off. I got it replaced. Lucky I was still in buyers remorse when it happened.
Same here. I think its the OEM USB cable it came with because changed chargers and the one I have now fits all cozy and snuggly in here.

So I was charging my phone and using it at the same time...and the charger doesnt stay in. its so loose....anyone else have this problem?
When my wife and I first got our Captivates her connection was really loose and would fall out. It turned out to be the plug itself, so maybe you can take it back to where you bought it from and ask for a new one.
This is my third Samsung android phone (captivate and nexus s), and it seems to be a common issue. I think its the cable though, as an HTC cable is nice and snug.

Have you tried plugging in another cable yet? Micro USB is a pretty common cable these days.
No problems with loose connections here.
In MicroUSB, the springs are moved from the device to the cable - so try another cable.
Anyone else have this issue. The usb cable comes apart on the asus end(see pic)
P.s. this has never been abused and was treated with the the greatest of care

Nope, maybe try a tiny dab of superglue?
Well I know it is an easy fix I just thought it was kinda weird and wanted to know if I was the only one who had this problem
Yup happened to me. But on the other side. The USB side. Cant sseem to attach the pic from my tfp
i had this happen to me right out of the box! plugged the device in to charge then unplug after full charge then this happened.

Yes! It's a piece of crap! And I tried to RMA to Asus but they want the bad one back and then they'll send out a new or fixed one. So how is a person supposed to charge the tablet with no power cord? Very disappointing, Asus! They've sent me several follow up surveys to the phone calls and emails and I've told them how I feel about this. They don't seem to respond after that... Haha! Oh, well. The superglue route is probably the best way to go, anyhow.
My cable came apart like that the first time I used it. I carefully removed it from the connector on my tablet so as not to damage any wires, and then pushed the cap back on until it clicked and it hasn't come off since.
I think the problem is that the black cap isn't properly seated over the connector on some charging cables so the little clips on the inside never engaged. I have a half dozen chargers for the TF Prime and 3 were like this.
This is definitely something that might scare you the first time you try to unplug your connector, but it isn't a huge problem unless you rip out the wires or something.
My wife's did this the first time we unplugged it. I used a few drops of super glue on it and it has never come apart again. Mine on the other hand never had the issue. I think there was a batch of the plugs that they never put the glue on them so they weren't sealed when they got shipped. Put a few drops of glue on it and seal it up and enjoy the full use of the USB plug

I took a mini USB cable and plugged it into my Amaze. It's the regular USB, not the Amaze USB, so it kinda wiggles around in the port. Then when I held up my Amaze with the USB in, it kept going on and off with the charging aspect of it. Anyone know?
Well...if it wiggles like you stated then that's your problem ya know. You lose the amaze cable?

I've got a mini usb cable that will do the same thing. Its because even though it will work, they can get loose enough that they won't make 100% contact. I've found that if you pinch the top part of the cable down a bit it'll grip onto the contacts better, but if you've got an HTC cable for your phone you're better off using it. The micro usb cables hold onto the contacts only, not the frame of the port like it should, while the HTC cable fits securely in the port and you run zero chance of anything breaking off.
Hi All,
I managed to leave my sgs2 charging all night in a small pool of water...
This was about a week ago, and the phone still works ok after pulling off the back cover and drying it out, looks like the water only just made inside the back cover.
Unfortunately the phone thinks it is now always charging and burns through the battery in about 8 hours and the phone is always hotter than usual.
If I plug it into a windows pc, it just says it's an unrecognised device. the phone doesn't recognise that it's connected via usb.
Is this something that could be fixed at a reasonable price at a service center? or should I bin it and buy a sgs3?
Clean the usb port
It maybe damaged I have seen similar reports of phone thinking it's charging and the problem was in the phone port

Hey there xda'ers!
I just picked up a Titan 4G for $30  I always wanted one, I'm using an S3 right now and I plan on switching back and forth at my leisure.
The problem with the Titan is the charger port is VERY finicky. You have to really push the micro USB in and get it in just right for it to charge.
I found replacement ones on eBay for around $7ish. Has anyone replaced one before? Do you guys have any tips?
Thanks to all in advance!
Anyone?

have you checked there's no fluff in the original one? mine sometimes looks like it's charging, (ie light comes on red), but never gets charged. this usually means there's fluff inside the usb port and a good hard blow, (pardon the expression), sorts it out...

Sadly, the previous owner must have forced a mini usb into the jack or something, since all the pins are bent in. Or, it may have been dropped on the charger port while plugged in. All in all, the phone is in great shape for what I paid for it, as I always had a fascination with WP7.
I got a quote for $60-$70 to have the new USB port installed since it has to be soldered.
Even still, I plan on keeping it and ordering a back up battery charger from eBay since the phone is easily a 8/10 condition wise and I have already unlocked it :good:
