Hi, I've used "Dump" method to backup my original rom.
I now have all the files needed to restore it, but the bin and sin file names are numbers.
What do I need to do to flash my x10?
regards
I have a similar problem. Iv found the first set of sin and bin files but need the second set. Eg. amss_fs.sin
I'v followed the thread but can't seem to get the last part ryt

I need to delete a system file from the Rom because I don't want to see it on hard reset, I’ve seen such unlock in this Forum made by "Itsme" specially for XDAII, can we do the same thing for Xda I ?
For the XDA I you have to know how to edit the nbf file before flashing ... and I don't think it's that straight forward
I have been reading the posts but I cant figure out how to install the EXT-ROMS. I downloaded the upgrade and the EXT-ROMS. I succesfully flashed the upgrade but am still confused about the EXT-ROMS. Also Where can I see the EXT-ROMS already on my device. I thank you in advance for your help.
Install...
After you unzip the upgrade files to specific folders, you'll see some files including NK.nbf and Radio_.nbf. Then you unzip the ExtROM file to another folder or same folder as before (this is recommended) and you'll files including ms_.nbf. Well, whatever you do just make sure that ms_.nbf file is inside the upgrade folder (together with NK.nbf and Radio_nbf). Then flash again your ROM by clicking HimaUpgradeUt.exe, follow the instructions and don't disconnect from the power. It is best you soft reset the handset before do this. I hope this will help
more help please
OK here in lies the problem. I downloaded HIMA_WM_2K3_EXTROM.RAR with the main upgrade files. There is no ms_.nbf file in the HIMA_WM_2K3_EXTROM.RAR how do I either create or get one?
Search around the forum....
R u located in Asia? Cause, if u r then u can use ExtROM by Sin or ZeroXtreme. U can find the file in the forum, try to search by the Author Sin or ZeroXtreme. If you want to make one then use ER2003Edit_1_2_20 then add file that u only need. However, it is best to read the forum by Sin as he/she explain the guide step by step and tell u what the file for. The guide is easy to follow (according to me), happy hunting and try. Please be careful, if u don't really understand or know better to ask around first. U don't want to have an "expensive brick" rite?

1. Read the instructions on that thread.
2. Post your question there. (However, in your case you can not post in development forum because you have less than 10 posts)
Trust me, the answer to your question is in the FIRST post if you read it CAREFULLY and follow the instructions!
Hint: The keyword in "bundle". Good Luck.
put files in \firmwares\my-firmware\
Also check your unzipped folder. Sometimes the files are two folders deep and you have to move them up.

I had this same problem and rather than listening to key word or hint at bundle. even though it is correct. click on the advanced tab (which apparently is too hard for other people to just say) and replace the kernel.sin file along with the loader.sin file in your 2.1 software. then flash as normal. voila. mt.

Maybe it is even harder for some people to read and follow simple and clear instructions? Or maybe it is easier for some people to start threads about topics/issues already discussed (and resolved) numerous times on this forum because they are too lazy to read through the posts? Don't you think?
ok so i want to try just for the fun of it, reinstalling 1.6 wwe_R1fb001 i have the rom downloaded, unzipped, but there two files and unzip those and .......ok now im lost using the 2.5 flasher what would i put where or do i need to use some older method?

You need to create software bundle. Go to advanced --> Bundle Creation. Once you create the bundle, then you can flash the firmware.
sorry to still be a dumb ass but from which unzipped rar file do i use sin files from both unzipped rar's
one file is phone the other is android.
once its been done its easy but till then the whole 2 folders option is throwing me off.

Two folders means you need to create a sub-folder inside the firmware folder. E.g. /firmware/my_firmware and in the sub-folder put all the SIN files associated with that firmware.
You need to unzip any firmware you download regardless of the flash tool. One rar is probably the flash tool and the other is the firmware. You need to extract all files.
ok plz dont get frustrated i know you know what your talking about and your like just read the directions... but some of these you guys have been doing so long you forgot some of us get lost right after words like zip and rar lol.
id have to build a bundle and here is my choices, first unzipped folder has this in it.
metadata.dat DAT file
simlock.ta TA file
system_s1-sw-live-ac12-0001-s1-partion-with-spare.sin
update XML doc
userdata_s1-sw-live-ac12-0001-s1-partion-with-spare.sin
other folder has
amss.sin
amss_fs.sin
several other sin files then
preset.ta TA FILE
recovery.sin
update xml document
so this is why im saying huh confused how do i build a bundle from 2 different folders also when i tried to use flash tool with placing sin files in firmware folder it didnt work. i didnt place them in a sub folder in the firmware if that could have been why it didnt work
btw i have 2.1 and multi touch installed on fone using flash tool and didnt brick fone lol again thx for help were not all as genious as you guys.
What fw do u want to flash? You will find a sticky thread in the development forum titled "Decrypted branded roms..." Just download the fw you want from there. Then use it with the flash tool.

Lol sorry. I see what you are saying from what you posted. You need to gather all the sin files in one folder and rename them. You can try downloading another firmware from that link to see what I mean.

I recently flashed a new rom on my x10i but now i cant use the flash tool as the model number has changed from x10i to S0-01C, there was no zip for changing the build.prop on the post where i got this rom! I searched the forum for solutions but couldn't find any!
i know we can change this by editing the build but don't know how!

That is the model number for the x10 on a carrier called Docomo. If you want to modify the build.prop you will need a root explorer app such as es file explorer or root explorer (I assume that your phone is rooted...). Go to /system/build.prop and copy it to your SD card (always back up something BEFORE you modify it). Then open the original in a text editor. Change the lines that start with
ro.semc.product.model and
ro.product.model from S0-01C to Xperia X10
Then restart your phone.

Or you can use the new flashtool, connect your phone with USB debbugging on, pick Advanced - File Editor and fill the boxes:
path: system/ File: build.prop hit enter, change whatever you need to (as a matter of fact deveron3 just told you what you need to change), and finally click on save, disconnect and reboot, easy indeed!

I dont get you??
He means that you can download a stock ROM from the Bible that he linked and you can extract the files you need from there with something like 7zip or Win.rar or Winzip. Then you will have all that you need.

I suspect that this request is a veiled attempt for someone to unknowingly post their EFS folder that you have requested so many times. I surely hope that this is not the case because that would be bad. Your other threads asking for the EFS folder have all been closed. If you are looking for all the files that are in root / of a stock Vibe, that is where the EFS folder resides. That is not ok as you are essentially asking for it but in a veiled and mysterious way in order of trying to dupe someone to uploading it. And that is not Cool.
I already answered you on the Changing motherboard fixes EU bug thread that changing the motherboard will get rid of the EU bug but you won't be able to get any info that was on your original Internal_SD.
If you are willing to offer a reward, EU BUG permanent fix reward 20$, then really you could just take that $20, hold on to it for a bit, get $20 more and just buy an new motherboard off Ebay. They are only $40+. Just install it, flash back to stock JFD and you will be good to go.
First of all if any 1 I'll give me his system files then he surely will not give his efs as he I'll be a knowing what's efs folder all about .....and I just want to confirm the size of all these files but mainly those files which are unable to load at the start up
