[Q] error 0x80070057 when trying to copy roms to interernal sd - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Been getting error 0x80070057 when trying to copy roms to interernal sd. Roms copy fine to the external sd.
I googled the error and mainly got back info that its a windows error usually having to deal with email or exchange.
?In the process of trying to make it work I soft bricked the vibrant and used odin to get it back up and running.
the following pics show the error message and what roms I tried to copy over.
Any help would be amazing thanks
/Vicious

reformatting the internal sd card??
Ive thought about it, wasnt sure if that was ok to do.
will it still boot properly after I do or will I have to go into download and use Odin??

internal sd card does not affect boot, just backup the files you want to keep.
think of the internal sd card as an external sd that you cannot remove.

[Q] 0x80070057: Parameter error
I've tried flashing Som's fix on Axura 2.0.5, Onyx 4.2, Obsidan 4.2 and still got the parameter error. Then I formatted the external sd card by phone and by computer and error was still there. Now i'm running mancut r13 but that error won't go away either. Anyone has any clues how to overcome it?

Im having the opposite problem. Im running axura 2.06 and I cant copy to my external sd. The internal is fine. I was trying to copy some mp4 files over and the first one I did copied over just fine, but after that I kept getting the parameter error. Any help would be great, thanks!

[Q] Clockwork Mounting / SD card issue

So i seem to have hit a wall here when trying to get a new Whiskey rom... Currently running standard bonix, but looking to get a bit better battery life. Here is the issue.
When I get into clockwork recovery, And I go to install from SD card.... It actually shows the internal memory, and has a folder called "SD" but for some reason it never allows me to select it. It just goes back to the main folder. The log shows its trying to load it from /sdcard/sd... seems like its a mounting issue?
Of course my first attempt trying to install not realizing it was internal had write errors, but luckly I FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS and got to restore a backup.
Anybody seen this issue or can advise on how to correct it?
Update: just confirmed the issue is infact that Clockwork is mounting the internal storage as the SD Card. Removed the SD card, still getting the same results. Unmounting SD card only results in error msg.
bump.... still looking for suggestions
I don't follow, is the.zip on the internal sdcard/ root (no folder)?
Not sure why your sd card would be involved. What am I missing?
perhaps I am confusing terminology? Is 'sdcard/ root' not the same as the SD Card?
No, root means not in a folder. If your zip is not pasted to sdcard/ that is likely the problem.
Ahh gotcha. I understood concept of root folder, but I missread sdcard/ to be the Expandable SD Card, which it was in the root folder of.
:O *Facepalm*

Damaged SD card

I am running CM7 Alpha 3. It suddenly said "Damaged SD Card" and I may need to reformat it. webOS can use it without problem. I also connect it to windows and do a disk check there. However I still can't mount the SD card partition in CM7. Any idea?
OK I format SD card thing and Android still won't read it, saying the SD card is damaged. Help?

I think your SOL and have to reinstall an android build.
This is a bug that happens when you have more than 50 apps installed on the sdcard.
You need to goto .android_secure and delete a few files to get under 50. I have also heard that if you goto manage applications you could remove a few apps that are installed on the sdcard.

[Q] format USB storage, erasing all files stored there?

Hi Guys..
Wondering if someone can help..
I have been running CM9 and some other ICs ROMS for a while now.. and have started to receive the following notification.
"format USB storage, erasing all files stored there?"
I initially did this ( did backup to PC first) and it made no difference... it still keeps on coming up.. i have also formatted via CWM too...
This is solely with internal SD and no external SD installed... i am unsure how i can fix this..
I have searched around a bit but can only find answers relating to a removable SD card (removing and formatting via SD card slot in PC) and not the internal one..
Any ideas?

Just a suggestion:
You may have to flash a new ROM with ODIN and enable the Re-Partition option.
Try to use the pit file for the ROM you are flashing.
Good luck !

try to format it thru phone
Tried that a couple of time and it didn't work. After a couple of reboots it worked now. Thanks.
Still got a question though.
What are the correct settings for formatting the sd card from windows?
Is it necessary to partition it from CWM? What are the correct setting for this?
LE: Ok. I got myself deeper in trouble. I managed to format the sd card from CWM. I mounted the sd card and copied update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-p500-signed.zip over. I wiped the phone's memory and tried to install CM7 and got the following error: "E: Can't open /sdcard/update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-p500-signed.zip (bad)". I also tried with update-oxygen-2.3.2-LGP500-KANG-signed_v2.6.zip but doesn't work either.
I was thinking of trying to partition the sd card from CWM but i'm afraid i will make it unable to mount back again and this time i got no android to format it from.
Also it seems that formatting the sd card from cwm doesn't really work. The files are still there though it says that it completed.
LE2: I managed to mount sd card from cwm and copied over a cwm backup folder i had in my computer. Takes a while to copy it like it really does something. But after i try to restore or remount usb storage the files aren't there anymore.
can you tell me why do you want to patition your sd card? do you want to create second partition (sd-ext) or what?

Just format your SDCARD from SETTINGS - STORAGE, after that proceed with the instalation of CM7 or whatever you want. Don't partition your SDCARD if you don't know how to do that and if you don't need partitioned SDCARD. It is not necessary to do that if you don't use an APPS2SD app, so don't waste your time with that.

[Q] Damaged SD card

Hi.
I've had several tries formatting and installing ARHD30.1 restoring my previous using NAND backup, until I finally managed to install ARHD30.1 correctly.
But since then, I have a notification, every several hours, of 'Damaged SD card'.
Does it refer the internal SD card or my external SD card? through the files manager I can access both my internal and external SD cards.
How do you suggest to check if it is a ROM issue or a real card issue?
Should I try installing ARHD22.4 or restore my NAND backup again, to see if the issue continues, or is there any other, simple way to check it?
Thanks in advance.
AW: [Q] Damaged SD card
This refers to your external card. You might install a stock firmware to see if the error still prevails.
Just for information purposes: Did you try to perform a full wipe? Remember to backup your whole data and apps before..
|| Typed with my S4 Octa-Beast or my Note 10.1 ||
I did a full wipe, with full format of system/cache/data/sdcard/preload (I removed my external SD card before all that)
any ideas, again, before doing all that again?
Have you got your external sd backed up? I'd so then reformat it in the phone
