Did you even read the OP for the rom you installed? Either it was Eugene373's Macnut, Team Whiskey's Obsidian, Master's Axura, or Anderdroid's Aosp'ish... Really its a moot point as they are all basically Eugene's Macnut, just with framework mods ( exception might be Obsidian, as he doesnt directly credit Eugene for any work ) Anyway, the blurry MMS is a stated shortcoming of the current batch of 2.2 roms... Search is your friend... it saves you from posting qusetions that already have anwsers.

Wow. Not at all.
Macnut was originally on JPM
My ROM went on JPA & JPO before eugene. And the 2.0 version which is still in development doesn't use ONE thing of eugenes.
And Sombionix's rom doesn't use ONE thing of eugenes either
Eugenes macnut isnt JK2 either. People like you think that we base everything on Eugene.
Did YOU even read the OP's?
And to the OP:
Yes we are all aware of it, and it is an issue we are all trying to fix.

Master I would first like to offer my apology for offending you, not my goal or intention, and as I have, you have my apologies.
In retro spect, my wording on a quickly typed reply to fly under the radar while I am work seems to have not conveyed the message I originally intended.
I did not wish to say that all roms are copies of Eugene's work, but similarly suffer from the same shortcomings, and I had a noted exception of Team Whiskeys offering as they are the sole developer which does not credit any work from eugene.
and unless I am confused, your axura rom comes with eugene's #45 kernel and in its op states that mms is blurry.
I understand that your Rom is based on JPO, Macnut is based on JPM and Team Whiskey derives their work from JK2... All of which are available for easy reading ( Ill admit, i used the search feature for that info )
And to answer your retort, Yes, I do read the OP. I use the search feature before Posting a question to make sure there hasnt been a similar question or an answer to it, and even when getting my facts straight. Thank you for your time and giving me a chance and reason to better explain my reply to the OP of this post.
I invite you to continue any further discusion about my errors in DM, rather than airing any problems or errors as if they were dirty laundry.
FRIZZ
I read and I read well, but its a simple question to read if there is a fix for it.
I am running JK2 as i stated above, its the UNOFFICIAL 2.2

Here, Ill save you the difficulties.

Save you even more trouble, The answer is no.
My method for arriving at this conclusion, Navigate to the relevant thread, search the realevant thread with the keywords blurry mms fix, read the postings listed ( all 17 of them ) and derive the answer, no, there is no fix yet.

+1
As there are other ways of getting around this, Like replacing the apk's with cyanogen's.
Both of which fix the blurry MMS.
Can you take a pic of the blurry MMS? I am running the same ROM and have yet to see anything blurry about mms. Im really curious what the fuss is.

AOSPish vs. Obsidian v2

Which one do you guys prefer? Im stuck between both. I dont mind touchwiz although i know sometimes it bogs down the phone. So im just seeing what u guys think is the best.
I suggest you join the Team Whiskey forum and get Onyx

sense rom

hi could someone please tell me which sense rom to use on my hero as there is just so much to choose from im sure all are good but I would like the best out of the available ones please thanks , im currently using elinux froyo 2.2.1
Well, first of all this should be posted in the Q&A section, but VillainROM 12 is prob your best bet for all round stability and performance. It's based on 2.1 though so bare that in mind as you are coming from a Froyo 2.2 build.
It's been a while since I used a Sense ROM (got addicted to 2.2 stock) but the best was VillainRom12 or MoDaCo. There are ports of Sense for 2.2 around, but as far as I know they all have hardware issues (such as camera or wi-fi not working).

hope for 2.3 ? or switch

There has been very little in the way of Gingerbread development for the Vibrant.
Rom cooks seem to have deserted us.
Edit: The thing is guys, Team Whiskey has been regularly releasing stuff for Nexus S. Is there not any possibility they might have switched ? [my point about switching is mostly rhetorical. Cant afford to switch im poor]
A member pointed out that our rom cooks only take samsung leaks and plug up their issues and make roms. I didnt believe him and reported him for flamebait.
I am not so sure anymore. Please can someone reassure me ?
If no one is bringing out Gingerbread on this, what hope do i have of seeing Honeycomb on this thing ?
I am not trolling. Just looking for some hope. Because every time i turn the computer on, the first thing i do is refresh the Vibrant Android Development forum and check for some updated rom which includes a significant chunk of Gingerbread.
Dude I would say its obvious that some of the activity may have died down due to people spending time with their families and what not as it has been mentioned, I would say hold out for a little while at least.. Even Supercurio is working on bettering his Voodoo project which will lead to more success... It may seem as if we have been getting bread crumbs at this point but I am optimistic that it will pick up..

Team Whiskey is working on bringing Gingerbread to the Vibrant as we speak...there is an EXPERIMENTAL build that sombionix put up...but porting it is easier said than done....Team Whiskey is the among the best in the business...and they're build has a few things that are not working...but it runs on our Vibrant...
Bottom line: Have patience....Gingerbread will come soon enough...
Thank you battlekry & fearless1964 for the hope. Much appreciated.
so "Team Whiskey is working on bringing Gingerbread to the Vibrant as we speak," is this really true ? omg happy happy

Yeah, Nero 3 is incredibly stable my daily driver since its day of release.

What about us casual users?

What advanced knowledge of this platform, I find digging thru this forum an impossibility. I have a Samsung Vibrant with stock FroYo 2.2 and am suffering terrible lag. It's beyond me why this is allowed to continue by the vendor.
So if I want a new ROM and/or Kernel to fix the major lag problem, I'm left wondering which is the best.
Well you kinda have to decide which type of rom that you'd want to try to use. If you want the stock rom I recommend installing the Bali kernel...it's fixed a lot of issues and gives great speed and battery life which is what I'm using.
Hopefully, you have rooted your phone before doing anything.
Bali Kernel Rocks for Froyo.
You can even try CM7 or MIUI Gingerbread ROMs.
We stopped relying on Samsung ages ago for providing any further updates.
If you want the best experience from your phone, you're going to have to take risks. But its nothing since this phone is technically "brickproof". Try installing a ROM besides Froyo, like GB or maybe a ROM that's Froyo but with different themes and tweaks, I just can't use stock 2.2 anymore lol.
Stupid Samsung and TMobile don't give a rat's a$$ about our phones or the Lag, and once they announced there will be no GB release, many devs have disappeared (though there are some new ones who inherited phones showing up now too )
For your first custom ROM...I wouldn't go with GB - it's not for beginners.
For 2.2 without the lag and some extra tweaks, try Project V - but there are lots of great ROMs out there that will help you ditch the Lag + a whole lot more. I know people who are still running Nero and Axura without problems - so you can probably just find a rom - look at the release date, and start reading the forum posts after that date. There's plenty in the noob stickies about how to root, most ROMs still provide install instructions.
Though - there are things like update of the Market, etc. - that you will need to allow extra time for during your "settling" periods...
i agree with the poster above, root your device and flash the bali 1.8.6 capped kernel. that'll convert your file system to ext4 and you'll be rocking. no need for the custom roms unless you're really adventurous.
While there is no need for custom roms I still think that you should try bionix 1.3.1 or project-v by edt both froyo roms to get a taste of what we in the vibrant community have and appreciate everyday
Bionix 1.3.1 has countless themes and project-v is by far imho the best 2.2 rom with the best speed and battery life and its always been what I fall back on when gb gives me problems. Also flash the trigger theme with it, it'll look better and bali kernel for battery

When did they announce there would be no more updates for the Vibrant. I don't remember hearing anything about that. I've given up hope that there will be, but I haven't heard anything officially.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
For a first rom I would suggest something form sombionix. He was the best dev ever on this platform, and the roms are pretty much stupid proof, and more reliable than stock. anything from nero v3 to bionix 1.3 are all solid. You just need to take the way back machine and look as far back as 2009 to find them. Though his last rom thread keeps getting bumped as its just amazing and everyone keeps using it.

Well...since I only have it based on what I've seen/heard here, I should rephrase:
"Once whatever event, whether official or otherwise, occurred that caused some devs and other XDA members to commonly believe that there won't ever be an official GB release for the Vibrant..."
If you wanna stay on Froyo go for Trigger 3.3, it's perfection.

First off wrong place to be posting this. It belongs in the Q&A thread. Personal pref. but i would go with stable cm7 with the latest HL Glitch kernel.
Link to stable cm7
Link to Glitch kernel
Rom's
take a look at the Vibrant Bible:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991267
you will find links and all kind of good and useful information about this fantastic phone.
I flash a rom almost every other day and in my honest opinion bionix roms are the most stable and perfect daily driver roms period! Make sure you educate yourself before doing anything and also have the nescesary software to save your ass in case you F-up.
