Some apps disappeared from Market (can no longer be found with either browsing by category or using the search function) after I flashed CM 6.0/6.1 ROM, including FoxyRing, PingChat, Seesmic, Foursquare, etc.
I have tried MarketAccess.apk, no luck.
Could anyone help me please?
Is this because of the Android version? Is froyo not supported by those apps?

OK I admit this a stupid question. Of course it is because Android 2.2 is not supported by those apps. :-S

I find all of the above apps when searching for them. Using Floyo 1.1.9, which is a 2.2 rom

Thank you for your information! I will try replacing my Vending.apk with that from a Floyo ROM and do some investigation.
Tried Vending.apk from Floyo. No luck.
Also compared system versions between the two ROMs. Didn't see any difference.
Totally confused now...

Attached are screenshots to show the version information of my current ROM and the Vending.apk.
It's driving me crazy!
I just flashed Floyo, installed FoxyRing, Foursquared, Seesmic, PingChat with the Market, and saved the four apk files in my sdcard.
Then I restored my CM6.1-RC1 and try to install the four apk files I just saved.
But my phone won't let me install them. It just keeps saying "not installed".
What is the trick that Floyo ROM has done to make it work??

Hi! I am currently using an unofficial port of CM7 on my O1. I downloaded from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354
However, the radio app in this ROM is not pretty good, it won't scan channels and the quality is bad as well. While fiddling with Titanium Backup, I deleted the default app!
I was trying to find the default radio app but couldn't find it. Can someone please help me with installation of the default radio app for O1? I would like to go for the original radio that came with 2.2 since that was perfect for me.
Guys please help me!!
It will not work on CM7. Extract it from the CM7 build.
OK. Well, can you tell me or guide me to some threads which can tell me how to go about it? Or is there any other app that I can use to tune into local radio? Please help me with this.
Download the build that you've flashed and open it with winrar or winzip. Navigate in it to apps and search for the radio app. I think it is called FM.apk. After this, push it via ADB or copy it with root explorer to /system/app.
Don't forget to change permissions.
P.S: also copy FM.odex and change permissions.

Thanks for the info badeaioan. But can you please direct me to any posts which can guide me regarding pushing files using adb? I tried using Ghost Commander but couldn't get it to copy files into the /system/app folder since it is giving me a -Read-only File System error. Can I use Terminal Emulator? If yes, how??? I am not a developer that's why I am asking so many questions.

I do not understand what these instruction are for. Wouldn't the procedure reinstall the rom radio app we do not like? It is too late, am I missing anything? If so, sorry

Hey guys. Copy the file to /system/app/ with the root explorer change the permissions (rw-r--r--) and reboot.
Working on 2.2 with devoid.franco.
Try it and leave your comment.
2.2 Radio app wont work with CM7, Radio app "hacked" by Mik has some problems, if you cant live with CM7 radio app, then I suggest for you to go back to any 2.2.x ROM.
Previous instructions were just for reinstalling CM7 radio app
EDIT: Try this one, see if you like it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071312

I +1 somanshmittal.
I love the FM radioapp by from LG. Is there any way to work it in CM7.2 !
yes please
The Radio on froyo 2.2 was indeed much better than Cyanogen Mod7.2 . It had 12 channels, as opposed to 6 channels. and auto scan as well. Can someone suggest me how to get a better Radio App than the one on CM7 ?
You would have to buy spirit fm unlocked else try to hack on your own. There is no way yet to make it work. Also as mentioned previously on this forum fm and Bluetooth are on same chip. So turning on one will start the other
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda app-developers app
Since FM & BT are on same chip (H/W), whichever rom u use, it turns on both, only the BT icon is not enabled in default FM
Hi,
When i connect to market and start downloading a app. it keeps saying ''start downloaden'' and nothing happens.
I tried:
-Deleting Cache market
-Deleting updates market
-Used WIFI for downloading
-Restart telephone
I use BB58 with 2.1 from Seus. I custimized it with:
-ADW
-Gingerbread theme
-Rooted + Recorvery
-Adfree
-And deleted some of the app from SE
Someone know how to fix the download problem?
Cheers

I did a restore from xrec.
Maybe it is before the freaking problem starts
did u deleted the Talk.apk ?
if not, try signed in into the talk apps
Just be patient, I tought I got stuck aswell but I kept the dl running and did some other stuff and when I went back to the market everything was downloaded. Another explanation could be the adfree thingy blocking apps with ads (lite/free versions)?

I don't think the new redesigned market is officially launched yet. Only way to get it right now is to replace the market APK with the updated one.
Thanks for the answers all
mine got updated to the NEWEST ONE.
after opening the market on the new stock 2.3 i logged in and downloaded a few apps.
the second time i opened the market i was introduced the the newest one.
i love it its so detailed and simple!
I just installed the new market apk

2nd Hotfix for the WB-Xperia custom rom includes the new market, it's great.
I installed the non Transparent Market using the apk file from the update zip, all is fine.

I would like to play the old classic Scumm games on my phone. I'm running the latest Cyanogen Nightly ROM and would like to know how to do so. I've downloaded the latest version of the apk (1.3), but it says it cannot install for some reason. On the android market, it says requirements are Android 1.5 - 1.6, although I've been told that people with Android 2.3 have got it running. How does one do so?
Try putting it on data/app
Sent from my MB525 using xda premium
Okay, I've done so. Now what? It doesn't show up on my home as an app.
Just installed the apk that I've downloaded from their website on my Defy - running CM7 stable - and it's working.
I see. I'm running CM 7.1 Nightly and it is refusing to install for me. I've tried a couple of times.
Tried chmod?? After data/app??

also, make sure that SETTINGS -> APPLICATIONS -> UNKNOWN SOURCES is checked
Hey there,
coming from the nexus one the TW things (dialer und contacts) are a welcome feature, but the bundled swype sucks, because you cannot install the newest beta versions which are much much better (Especially for german users, because of the umlauts)!
So i am looking for a STABLE Rom with Android 2.3.6 or 2.3.7 where swype is not included or can be easily uninstalled!
Any suggestions?
Best regards!
Any rom, you can use root explorer to delete the swype.apk from system/app if included. Just choose a rom from the vast selection. Then you can install swype beta.

moved swype.apk, rebooted, tried to install swype beta, FC's all the way.

There are a bunch of threads around that describe what you need to do and I have done it myself in the recent past. Freezing with Titanium Backup was the way I did it, I think.
Have a search around - you can most certainly do it if you invest a little time and effort...
Freezing didnt work!
But deinstalled with titanium backup, rebooted - installed again and then it worked!
thanks for the help!
