I don't think the new redesigned market is officially launched yet. Only way to get it right now is to replace the market APK with the updated one.
Thanks for the answers all
mine got updated to the NEWEST ONE.
after opening the market on the new stock 2.3 i logged in and downloaded a few apps.
the second time i opened the market i was introduced the the newest one.
i love it its so detailed and simple!
I just installed the new market apk

2nd Hotfix for the WB-Xperia custom rom includes the new market, it's great.
I installed the non Transparent Market using the apk file from the update zip, all is fine.

Some apps disappeared from Market (can no longer be found with either browsing by category or using the search function) after I flashed CM 6.0/6.1 ROM, including FoxyRing, PingChat, Seesmic, Foursquare, etc.
I have tried MarketAccess.apk, no luck.
Could anyone help me please?
Is this because of the Android version? Is froyo not supported by those apps?
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
OK I admit this a stupid question. Of course it is because Android 2.2 is not supported by those apps. :-S

I find all of the above apps when searching for them. Using Floyo 1.1.9, which is a 2.2 rom

Thank you for your information! I will try replacing my Vending.apk with that from a Floyo ROM and do some investigation.
Tried Vending.apk from Floyo. No luck.
Also compared system versions between the two ROMs. Didn't see any difference.
Totally confused now...
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
Attached are screenshots to show the version information of my current ROM and the Vending.apk.
It's driving me crazy!
I just flashed Floyo, installed FoxyRing, Foursquared, Seesmic, PingChat with the Market, and saved the four apk files in my sdcard.
Then I restored my CM6.1-RC1 and try to install the four apk files I just saved.
But my phone won't let me install them. It just keeps saying "not installed".
What is the trick that Floyo ROM has done to make it work??
Credit goes to BrwnSuperman for finding these and then I took them and put them in a cwm flashable zip. So, I figured I would post this in the Development section (Mods feel free to move it if you see fit) since many of us are on mtd roms and most of these roms have been updated to the new 2.3.5 Android code. Here are the updated 2.3.5 GB gapps: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?67t2077vf4q3zd6 Included are the new gtalk, new car home, new market, updated google search, and all the rest of the little system service apps etc. that can't be downloaded from the market. All (I think) updated to 2.3.5. Flash from cwm recovery and enjoy.
Edit: here is a mirror as it was reported that there was a problem with the mediafire link: http://www.multiupload.com/Q184Q5YS09
I believe you forgot... you know... the gapps

curious
just noticed that i have not installed GAPPS since i first came on board on the 07/04 build, i also installed the new market..not sure if that has anything to do with it......so has anyone else installed the new market and from there havent had any issues? running the 07/28 build....and still the new market works...
Can't Google apps be updated via the market...I flashed the one listed in the OP of the CM7 thread, but have updated through the market, so are these newer than that?
Also, if I am on CM7 7/18 winch is Android 2.3.4...would flashing this screw up something?

Well, I know google talk can't be updated through the market and yes, these are the gapps that came from the nexus 2.3.5 code release earlier this week. All the little google services apps are updated as well, not just the main apps. You can just wipe cache/dalvik and flash these but you might have to erase the old ones manually.
Can I remove some of the apk that I am not going to use in the gapps.zip?
Just installed on latest CM7 (not the nightly), runs good. I've been wanting this new gtalk, if only it could be updated via the market. Thanks thanks

You rock, thanks! I don't think there's a problem with your link, my phone wouldn't download any zip files from mediafire yesterday.

So I hope I am not the only one with this issue, but when I flash it either on CM7 or JTs AOSP 2.3.5 rom, after I select what apps I want, the loading just keeps spinning and spinning until I rotate the screen, then I select to install, then it keeps spinning again until I rotate back, and I have to do that with EVERY app during the initial app installs, and this was also after a complete wipe of DATA, cache and Dalvik

Weird, first I've heard of that. I'm guessing you are the only one with that issue.

Just download one here, copy the one that you have installed on system/app to somewhere safe and overwrite system/app, is much easier, don't forget to fix permissions in xrec.
i want old market pls!!
i want old market because, the new one is slower then older
new android market version 3.2.0 running much faster than 3.1.5
only working on android version 2.3.7 as far as i know.

1. Download the file to your SD card.
2. In Root Explorer, Move into /system/app find vending.apk and backup and then delete
3. In Root Explorer, find the file you just downloaded and copy it.
4. Move into /system/app and hit the R/W button to mount – then paste the file.
5. Afterwards, long press on it again and choose “Permissions.”
6. Change the permissions to this: x x -
x - -
x - -
7. Reboot and enjoy
This is a vast improvement, thanks for sharing.
Installed, but the improvments are Not as great as hoped. It has better categories, so one good improvement I think.

Try changing your system language from Enlish (US) to English somewhere else, like English (UK) or English (Canada). That has solved many of these market problems in the past.
what happened with the old market that one was the best...
I don't really find that much performance improvement with this, not worth updating with issues floating around.
Hey everyone,
Was hoping someone had this installed and could upload the .apk? My market is acting funky and cannot download this.
Posting this in the right forum hopefully.
Did you try installing the new ICS Market Version 3.2 found in this forum?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Yes, I have the latest version of gapps installed which includes the newest Market app running on CM7.
Unfortunately saying my device isnt supported.(it is). I really just need the .apk file.
