Ian using eugenes Froro the macnut r10. And I can't get into recovery mode, download mode, I can't use rom manager anymore... does anybody know how to fix this?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
did you flash anything else after the rom?
How long have you been running the rom, with no problem?
if you type "su" (no quotes) in terminal emulator does it return a "#"?
If you use an app like quick boot does it allow you to go to recovery *most likely stock recovery*?
Quick boot doesn't do anything it just goes to the vibrant screen and stays there untill I pull the batery out. And then I have to wait for about and hour to be able to get my phone past the vibrant screen.
Ive been using this rom for 4 days now. After I flashed this rom I flashed a kernel from eugene one tht said tht it will give me good batery life. And ever since I flashed tht kernel I am having this problem.

Besides this recovery mode and download problem, I am also having a lot of drop calls. Like it will drop the call a few minutes after I make a call, not always though.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
i would PM Eugene and inquire about the kernel then. Do you still have root?
Yes I still have root.
thanks man.

Download Astro file manager from the market then on your phone go to the link I've provided. Download the kernel and make sure it's on the root directory of your sd card using the file manager. Reboot into recovery and flash away.

Tanx. Man do I need to get da. Voodoo app from the market?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Using one of the kernels on the page I pointed you to will let you toggle the lag fix on or off using cwm recovery so you don't need one of the apps on the market. I will tell you that the easiest lag fix to use is the One Click Lag Fix available from the market. Using Voodoo and messing with the kernel of your phone can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. I've bricked my phone several times because of Voodoo.
I'm asking kuz. I tried the one click... and it says unavailable. Because I have another lag fix installd. But I don't... and da Rom I have is aura 2. 2
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I'm running Axura 2.2 as well. One Click doesn't work with it. Use the JL1 plus voodoo kernel on the page I pointed you to in the previous post. Make sure it's the Clockworkmod recovery .zip file and flash it just like you would a rom. When you boot into recovery it has options to enable or disable the lag fix. Just make sure before you flash a new ROM you disable it otherwise your phone will soft brick.
Also make sure you give it time after flashing. On your first reboot it will hang on the vibrant screen for about 10 min. while it re writes the file system. You'll hear a voice from your phone during this time that'll let you know what's happening.
Ok so way I do is download the voodoo from da link... den I go to Rom manager and flash it threw clockwork?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yup. Just like flashing a ROM. Remember to be patient on the first boot. If you interrupt the process in the middle you will brick your phone then we'll be having a whole different conversation
Lol ok ok.. let me just make sure.. I downloaded jl1 voodoo unsigned zip or sum like dat.. ima. Move it to the main rooting ting on my memory card... I open Rom manager... click install Rom from SD... den flash it?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yup. If you use Astro it will be in a file labeled download. Copy it into the same directory your Axura.zip file is in boot into recovery and flash it just like you did your ROM and then reboot.
Ok ima try it lol... ill b bak. In 20 if success lol

Yay it works lol.... but for. Sum resean my vibrant doesn't vibrate anymore???

I just realized that mine doesn't either. These roms and kernels are rarely perfect. Small price to pay for the increased speed though.

It's because you selected the JL1 kernel. It has a know issue of no vibration/feedback. JK6 is wonderful, go with that one.
so kan i just flash it or do i gotta take the other one off first??? den flash it??

You can flash it right on top. A word of general warning, however. If you ever want to go back to something that is not a Voodoo kernel, you will need to disable the lagfix first. If you don't, expect serious issues.
OK....check this out...imma noob and i forgot to turn on debugging mode. I also flashed a Super I/O kernel into the internal memory and not into the sd card(a couple days after flashing Nero v3 rom from TW). Now im stuck on the Vibrant screen loop. Can anyone PLEASE help me get back to the recovery screen?!

Did you flash the stock tar and pit files?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Yes i did from 2 different people on 2 different computers( Home and work)
I even watched some youtube videos on how to do it so i couldnt possibly mess up the written directions
Try to flash a 2.2 voodoo kernel with odin. If the flash is successful, use three button method to get into recovery.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
where would i get the 2.2 from and how do i use odin to do it.
I know it sounds like a stupid question but i really want to make sure i dont mess up.
Thank you very much for your help
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870480
Get into download mode and make sure odin sees your device. If it does, take one of the 2.2 odin kernel files found in that link above, and place it in the pda slot in odin. Flash and hope for the best.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
none of the links work it just keeps taking me to a blank page or the general xda forums
Sweet they work now for some reason or another..
and now instead of looping it just stays at the vibrant screen
I don't know what's wrong.
I've gone into recovery, and used ADB to clear out a ton of stuff, but whenever I reboot, it says there's still not enough space to install busybox (so I can't root).
It may have been from a lagfix, because ever since I had to ODIN back from Eugene's Dead Horse Kernel, it's done that. Does anyone know what to do? I'm stuck on stock (it also soft-bricks whenever I flash a ROM) until I get this fixed.
can you install other apps?

It allows me to install other apps, but if I try to root, it doesn't root (won't install busybox and says there's no space), and when I try to flash a new ROM, it just soft bricks.
can you try one click root? if not try to install Eugene's froyo that doesn't brick. that might clean things on your phone.

Question, can I do this through ODIN (not at home so I can't really look), because flashing through CWM doesn't help.
Sent from a STOCK Vibrant. :O
which one are you talking about?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Any ROM. Nothing will flash through CWM. I rmemeber seeing that when you flash something, it writes in system. It just doesnt do that anymore.

Well, I have tried to flash my phone with cm7 for the last 3 days and when I go to reboot recovery it freezes at the LG screen and I am forced to pull my battery possibly bricking my phone. Does anyone, I mean anyone have a safe sure way to flash my phone? And I have no pc access.....srry

You need a computer. Either you didn't install recovery right. Or you're too impatient. Sometimes it hangs for a minute or so.

use terminal emulator and reflash your recovery with flash_image. you got a bad flash or a bad download of the recovery it sounds like.
there is a slim chance you aren't rooted correctly too, in which case it won't let you flash the recovery until you get permanent root. hopefully this isn't the case.
Pretty dumb question what's flash image n just incase how do I check. For a permanent root?

My advice is not to do ANYTHING until you are at a computer and have at least a half an hour available. This sounds like your first time flashing a ROM, take some time to look up key terms and such, your patience will reward you greatly. It is difficult to flash without a computer. Go to a friends house, a library, something and do it from there. To check if you have root, download the app root checker from the market. Then, after confirming root status, work from there and flash a new recovery by pushing it through ADB. Then, place the ROM on the sd card and flash it through your recovery, then Google Apps. If you follow everything I say, and it still doesn't work, come back to this thread or send me a PM and we will go from there. Look into guides before posting, not trying to be mean, but they are there for a reason.
So, I've been on 10.1 for a while, and ever since, I can not Reboot to Recovery using normal options.
The only way I can get in to recovery is to open Rom Manager, flash recovery, then reboot recovery from INSIDE rom manager.
No other way works.
It's kind of annoying. I decided today to flash back to stock using ODIN and start fresh again.
From stock, I install CM7. I can reboot to recovery using CM7 no problem.
From CM7, I install CM10.1 nightly (the latest), and after the phone finally gets in to 10.1, I can no longer reboot to recovery from the reboot menu.
I have to install Rom Manager, then flash recovery from it, then reboot from it.
I have to do this process EVERY time I want to reboot recovery.
Any other way I try, it just reboots normally and not in to recovery.
What gives? Anyone else with this problem?
Thanks.
I just tried to use Terminal Emulator and that fails as well.
su
reboot recovery
It just reboots normal.
Have you tried using any other 4.2.1 ROMs?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
No, i haven't.
Well then try like hellybean

You should expect to run into problems when using a "nightly" build ROM. Its practically beta stages, find a ROM that is complete like the poster above mentioned. Cant really recommend any 4.2.ROMS , I stick with froyo ROMS for better performance.

The reason why I recommended that is because he was on a 4.2 ROM that he was having problems with. Sometimes its painful to go to a lower ROM as far as looks and speed goes therefore I recommended a 4.2 that he could try
