[Q] The problem of GPS and firmware "I9000XWxxx". How to decide?

Tell me why with firmware "I9000XWxxx" not working GPS?

This is a very very bad...
And there is not any hope will solve this problem?
I just need a language that is not in the standard firmware
You need to replace the correct lib's & bin / File to fix gps on the I9000 builds.. if there 2.1 this it's fine, we don't have the file for 2.2 currently to fix it..

I installed the firmware I9000XWJM8, stock modem.bin and stock kernel. GPS does not work (everything else works fine).
Then install files from thread "[Q] update.zip from JI5 GPS files" or thread "[FIX] GPS files ripped from leaked JI2, flashable zip" (forum does not insert links)
GPS is still not working
I no longer know what to do....
Moved to the Q&A sub forum.
As far as the GPS goes, make sure you are using the matching GPS libs.

Unfortunately, I do not know so well Android.
Therefore, ask for help.
Can someone give the necessary files for the GPS from the "stock" firmware?
The fact that the firmware "I9000XWxxx" is not the same file structure for "GPS".
In the archives - the files that seem to be responsible for GPS.
LIB only one - "libgps.so"
BIN is located in the folder "gpsd" and his name is "glgps_samsungJupiter"
Looks like I found a solution to the problem
And so it is very easy
Naturally need "root"
Files from the archive, to lay the appropriate folders. One file with the replacement of "libhardware_legacy.so" (because of him and then had a problem). Reboot. Its all
Tested on Samsung Vibrant with CODE_I9000XWJM8, CSC_I9000OXEJM1 , modem.bin from T959UVJI4, stock kernel

[ROM] | AOSP | 2.1 [WiP]

These roms are flashable with xRecovery 0.1 (backup restore)
update 1
slightly updated AOSP rom to try :
AOSP 2.1 v.0.1
update 2
firmware load fixed, vibrate fixed, some other small fixes.
AOSP 2.1 v.0.2
Todo:
Voicecalls (GSM/3G)
Location services
Google checkin provider
Camera
reserved.............
only if we could mount sdcard and start adb logcat we could investigate further..
It was nice to roam around in 2.2
If we want to create working rom we should know which files from the original ROM are the drivers so we can take them and try to put them in the custom rom.Otherwise froyo will not be able to interact with our specific hardware.
you can ask some one more experians in custom roms so he could recognise the drivers
even if he don't have x8
remember: just ask for help , dont be rude and ask for custom rom
sorry for my bad english and for my interrubed
i am building a working one please wait. i have discovered the drivers and etc.

any updates about the custom 2.2 froyo rom ?
now a little bit work, but just some minutes, and it says system is not responding and restart, but not full restart, just it get to the boot animation and then start.
the first step: i have to make it work, patches and drivers the second step. i tryed much thing to get working it, and i am sure i am not as far as i was.
I really hope that you will get this running because as it seams this will be the only way to get Froyo or Gingerbread on our X8.
Hope you will make this works. And if I can help with something let me know.

[TEST] Repair broken camera firmware

Hey,
some of you had interupted the camera firmware upgrade to original Eclair (2.1) Update. This is caused because you shut off the phone when you saw the flashing Camera Icon on the phone. THIS WAS THE CAMERA FIRMWARE UPDATE!
The User lipali reported that it works, so i decided to make a little batch-script for you.
Note: You should be on a ROOTED original SE Eclair Rom (2.1) to have all needed scripts in place.
1.) Activate USB-Debugging on phone
2.) EXTRACT the attached ZIP file
3.) Connect your phone to PC
4.) Start the RunMe.bat and follow the instructions
Please report if this works for you, this is a TEST!
Dont blame me if you **** up your phone in some way.
Best Regards
Bin4ry
I just hope the cam shall be fixed It'll be epic
Thanks a lot dude, I was looking for these files !
Gotta test this...
It works!!!
What iI've done?
copy files from Bin4ry to folders /system/etc/firmware and /system/bin
In next step I goes to the root explorer and execute script init.es09ra.rc. Later I rebooted phone. Waiting while icons with camera and phone is blinking (few long minutes...) and after that phone rebooted. Later I start camera apps and.. it works... THANKS A LOT (yes, this is scream ) And sorry for my english. I'm so excited.
.............
what does this actually do ? does it fix video camera for 2.2?
SE 2.1 (.435) But, i think it will be working on every rom. Just execute this script
This is for fixing camera when it broke while updating 1.6 -> 2.1 and not for Custom ROMs.
Ah I thought this was a miracle for 2.2/2.3

No, but since it's already properly decompiled, it may be the key the dev's need to get HD cam running on 2.3/2.3

This is a fix of non working cameras for the few unlucky failing upgrade of ROM from 1.6 to 2.1.
NOT FOR 2.2/2.3.

Some people reported that Camera Stopped working after the upgrade from 1.6 to 2.1. Do you remember that after updating there was an image with an Arrow and the Camera? Well, some users rebooted the phone while doing this process wich pretty much ****ed up the camera and was useless no matter what 2.1 firmware you flash on it because the camera was ****ed up since the beginning.
So Bin4ry compiled the script and now all those users with problems can upgrade the camera and have it fully working on 2.1
That's what i get from it... I could be wrong

OK guys, today I'm very happy day. First time i can fix my compass revert issue. I used your "Fix Accelerometer Lag.zip" file, but its not work for me. I don't know what's the reason. But i use my brain. Actually this is what i have done.
I have FXP 133 CM9 ROM, so that i extracted it into my desktop separate folder.
Extracted your "Fix Accelerometer Lag.zip" file into my desktop separate folder.
Then i use your zip as basic and search its similar files on the CM9 (actually i use file names).
Collect all the similar CM9 files using your "Fix Accelerometer Lag.zip"
Using winzip i delete "Fix Accelerometer Lag.zp" file one by one and replace files that i collected from CM9.
Than i flash it via CWM.
Wow finally it work friend.
Your method, i can't see these two files in the "system/lib/hw" folder "sensors.goldfish.so and sensors.semc.so". So i added them.
This file also not available on CM9 ROM "libsensorservice.so" ("system/lib) so that remove it.
I think your file contain some files not work wit WT19 series. I'm a completely noob, so i attached that file with this post. Please check it. Unfortunately there's one issue, compass respond little bit slower than usual, but not big delay. So how do i fix it?

[Q][Help] Wifi won´t work after update from Android [4.2.1] to [4.2.2]

Hi Guys,
I´m new to the Android World and to xda-forum.
This is my first [Q][Help] Thread. I´ve used the search function and the goolge search, but i didn´t get any answers.
Device:
Samsung Galaxy GT-I9300 International
ROM: Omega v44.4 - XXUFMB3
Kernel: Stock Rom Kernel
Bootloader: I9300XXEMC2
*#1234# Output:
AP: I9300XXUFMB3
CP: I9300XXEMB6
CSC: I9300OXAEMC2
So my problem as follows:
I flash one of the 4.2.2 Roms and only my WiFi makes problems.
-Sometimes it gets a "Obtaining Ip Address" loop.
-If my device connects to my home router (Belkin N+) there is WiFi shown on the device, but no data goes through it.
Every 4.2.2 Rom i tried [for example Slim Bean based 4.2.2, Omega v6 & v7 based 4.2.2, AOKP Milestone based 4.2.2, CyanogenMod 10.1 nightlies based 4.2.2] i have this problem and it makes me sick.
Flash process is every time the same:
Done with TWRP v2.5
-Full Backup
-Full Wipe
-Install Rom from external sd (.zip file)
-(Install Gapps if needed, ROM specific)
-Reboot
If you need more information about device or something, please ask.
I hope there is somebody, who can help me.
Thanks in advance.

The only thing it will change is the WiFi folder which is changed each time you flash a ROM so you have to do this each time you flash a rom aokp/cm10.1/aosp but when you flash a sami based rom you dont have to change the wifi folder as they seam to work ok

If you already have a ROM working use a root file manger and copy the wifi folder from /system/etc but I have had no need to do this on 4.3 based roms

Hey, it's on the stock Samsung ROM (Android 4.1.2) that is working properly the wifi, and only that one. With no custom rom - tried several CyanogenMod(stable), SuperNexus, even bloatware-free samsung 4.3 - none had worked).
I will make a wifi folder backup from that - will report back as soon as I get results.
